I was always under the impression they agreed to a flat amount based on the contract. I thought it had nothing to do with how well their figure(s) sell.

WWE wrestlers get royalties but unless you are a top guy, you most likely have no idea what the % is. WWE sends you a check and you say thank you may I have another.

yes its part of their licensing deal. theirs a funny story about this from WCW where Chris Jericho's wife purchased the Jericho Dean Malenko 2 pack and it rang up Hogan Sting. It turns out Hogan had the WCW office make the figures barcode ring up his name in any series that he was in so he would receive greater royalties. In a kinda related story one of the main reasons for the recent falling out between Hogan and the WWE was due to his royalties from merchandising. Hogan calmed he should be making more than Cena off of Jakks figures because you always find Cena figures in stores and rarely ever saw Hogan figures. He couldn't understand that Cena was in more sets than him and thought the WWE was screwing him on royalties like he use to do to guys like Jericho

WWE sends you a check and you say thank you may I have another. in every royalty check it states every percentage of every items. like 2% of your check is from a cretin dvd, 4% from another dvd 18% from figures, and so on. Lance Storm always talks about a percentage of his royalty checks is from a divas dvd and he has no idea why. so yes from Cena down to the blue Meanie they all know what they get from each item. |
