a link to the full schedule en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_FIFA_World_Cup_scheduleUSA's Schedule, all times Eastern June 12, 2010 U.S. Men vs. England 2:30 p.m. ET ABC HD June 18, 2010 U.S. Men vs. Slovenia 10 a.m. ET ESPN/ESPN3.com June 23, 2010 U.S. Men vs. Algeria 10 a.m. ET ESPN/ESPN3.com Players to watch: Tim Howard-Goalie, one of the top goalies in the world, when he is on, nothing gets past. Landon Donovan-midfielder, quick, and awesome field vision, when he plays well, we do well Jozy Altidore-forward, Exciting quick goal scorer. Oguchi Onyewu (Gooch)-defender, one bad mother, coming back from a knee injury so seems a little hesetant Clint Dempsy- midfielder/forward-Exciting goal scorer, one of the best when he tries I cannot be the only person excited for this. This is the USA's best shot at advancing in quite a while. They are finally getting mainstream coverage as well. I really think we will make it out of group play this year, so I am really pumped

Just as a warning, because I know this will happen, any fighting between US and UK members, will result in beheadings.

No love for my boy Clint Dempsey? Wtf mate. we can add him, he's good, he just frustrates the crap out of me, because for every flash of brilliance he shows, he shows laziness I was just trying to pick a guy from each position to highlight for anyone who is new/unfamiler with the players

I suppose we can use this. I was just going to make a sticky lock to the UK Sports boards World Cup thread since it's already a few pages in and a few members have already participated, but yeah. I didn't know how many fellow soccer fans we had here, so this can stay. In other news: USA! USA! USA! ;D

I started liking soccer a couple of years ago, after watching a Crew game. I was hooked after that. What sucks is I don't get all of the channels, so I can rarely catch a lot of games. ESPN 360 isn't really working for me either so...yeah. Anyways... I like the US's chances this year. We aren't the strongest team in the World Cup, but one could argue that we are the best team that we have ever been...ever. If we can get past England, which will be a huge hurdle to overcome, I can see us going far.

I went to a qualifying game, USA vs Honduras in Chicago...to say it was epic would be an understatement I agree, our chances are really good. I don't expect us to win the whole thing, but a quarter or even semi final appearance is not out of the question in my mind, especially after the way we handled Spain and gave Brazil all it could handle last summer in the Confed cup for those un aware, We play a tune up game at 8:30 am on ESPN this saturday

The Brazil thing still kills me. We were CRUSHING them, and yet they still came back to win. Blah.

Is this just for the US team or general discussion? General discussion I suppose. I'm going to be alternating between this thread and the one in UK Sports, as there are two different discussions going on. But yeah. General discussion.

Do any of you guys know if Maurice Edu made the final 23? Quality player who made a name for himself when playing in America, not so much now he's moved to Glasgow.
