Has there ever been a game you were extremely excited for, and never had a chance to play it, but when you finally did years later, it was terrible and didn't live up to the hype? This happened to me with Power Rangers Zeo Battle Racers for SNES. When it came out, I was never able to find it anywhere, for rent or sale. Being the huge Power Rangers fan that I was, this bothered me immensely haha. In 2002 I finally got my hands on it at a used game store, for like 13.99. So out of pure excitement, I grabbed it up instantly. When I got home to play it, it was the biggest letdown of my life. That was like, 7 years of hype for a game that wasn't even remotely good. Let's hear your heartbreaking stories.

Clay Fighter 2 was awesome IMO. The N64 one, not so much. That one was pretty lame, besides the fact Earthworm Jim was in it.

i just wasn't a big fan as a kid, as i was more about mortal kombat/realism in fighting and that was not to be found in clayfighter or it's affiliate titles lol
another one that really dissapointed me was prince of persia 3D. i'd loved the first two incarnations, but the third left a lot to be desired.

I didn't know coming into this thread, but Clayfighter 63 1/3 is actually a good call. So much waiting. So much time invested in reading about that game. And then it came out as a mere shell of what I expected.

I liked the Clay Fighter series Anyways I haven't had many video game letdowns, but one that comes to mind is Champions: Return to Arms. It wasn't terrible or anything. But there wasn't really any new features. Only 2 new characters and a "Good/Bad" path line that didn't affect anything but the story.

WWF RAW for SNES(probably couldn't appreciate it for what it was, controller felt awkward) Skate.3, and WCW Mayhem

I always wanted Celebrity Deathmatch for PS2. it sounded like just an amazingly fun game in all the video game magazines I read. I finally found it for like $10 used at a video store, snatched it up, and was immensely disappointed. such a stinker.

WWE Raw for the X-Box and MK Mythologies: Sub Zero both disappointed the hell out of me.

Terminator 3 game. I played it for 10 mins and then took it out of my PS2 forever.
Celebrity Deathmatch is also a good shout.

Twilight princess for the wii. I got a wii at launch and that was the game that was worth getting a wii for at launch. I had never played a zelda game before so I just figured it'd be awesome. But I found it to be really boring and stopped playing after around 3-4 hours total play time. Just not my type of game.

WWF Raw for the original XBox. SO MUCH speculation and hype behind the game being the most realistc wrestling sim to date. Instead, we got ok graphics, HORRIBLE gameplay, and wrestlers who walk like midget cowboys.

Simpsons Wrestling. I figured two things I loved would go great together. Not the case, unfortunately. Crappy graphics, clunky controls and you could pin your opponent while they were lying on their stomach.

Probably Super Trucks Racing for PS2 and Sonic The Hedgehog for GBA. Super Trucks Racing has terrible controls where you have to control the trucks with an analog stick and has 99% Road Courses. You have to unlock the speedway in the game that isn't a road course. Cheat Codes don't work at all. Thankfully I paid $4 used for it. Now Sonic The Hedgehog for GBA is so terribly glitchy that it's not even good. I prefer the Genesis Version better

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
Two words describe my frustration with this game. Moving Platforms.
Oh, and beyond the broken fighting and "special move" system.

I know this game is not considered classic..but my biggest letdown ever was Star wars the force unleashed 2. it was good...but WAY,...WAY too short... unfinished game.. lacked so much what made the first one such a masterpeice.
i'm thankful i only paid 12 bucks for it.

I was really disappointed with Grand Theft Auto 4. I may have been expecting too much since San Andreas was one of the best games I had ever played, but 4 was just so basic and boring. I played through the story once and sold my copy and never have played it again.
