im kinds making one similar to these ideas im doing a 2 layers of tires, lay plywood over, sheets of pad, then dig holes and put the post down in the ground with cement, then for ropes, run steel cable thourgh water hose and put them on the turnbuckles...for the turnbuckle pads just go to a juckyard or something and find a old couch..get the padding out then take and put a tarp like material over it a duct tape it and tie it to the rope and turnbuckle! hoped that helped

Instead of Garden Hose and cable, eletrical tape and cable, which is what WWE does.

what ehow says: Instructions.Things You'll Need: •Scrap lumber and plywood •Shovel •Egg foam •Hammer •Nails •Adhesive or duct tape 1.Step 1 Sketch out a design. Most wrestling rings are simple squares approximately 12 feet by 12 feet. 2.Step 2 Mark the four corners of your wrestling ring and find the exact center of the square. Dig a hole approximately 4 feet deep at each corner. Dig one more hole in the center of the square. The center will hold an additional support post for your wrestling ring floor. 3.Step 3 Place a 4 foot piece of scrap lumber in each of the five holes. Fill the holes with dirt. Nail wood planks to the inside of the support posts, approximately 1 inch from the top of the posts. These will be your joists. A joist is a support beam that holds a floor. 4.Step 4 Cut and fit scrap plywood to match your floor base. Screw the plywood down with wood screws every 18 inches along the joist. 5.Step 5 Cover the plywood floor with the egg foam. Use adhesive if you want it there permanently. Use duct tape if you want to be able to remove the foam. Read more: How to Build Your Own Wrestling Ring for Free | eHow.com www.ehow.com/how_6197303_build-own-wrestling-ring.html#ixzz0tKqx6G64

What he's reffering to is a base which is waaay softer than a wrestling ring. Take it from someone who knows

eh, don't uses mattresses. Be a man & fall on tires covered with plywood. It has nothing to do with "being a man." Mattresses are just a bad idea. They move around, they have too much give. It sounds like fun until you actually do it. Tires covered with plywood and padding is probably the best option for a base. It is sturdy, has enough give to keep you safe, and it's safer than some options.
