Well, it's great to see that he's going to stand by his word this time. But as the article suggests, there's just no beating around the bush with this one. You can't market a loser, not even the likes of Chuck.
I had my doubts about Dana giving Chuck yet another chance, but his reasons are genuine, and just. For rededicating himself to the game like he has, Chuck deserves another shot. Part of me wants Chuck to pull this out just for the sake of staying relevant. But a bigger part of me wants Rich to KO him so his stock will rise again. Rich is alot closer to his peak than Chuck is and has a better shot at his division's crown.

I don't think he's going to be cut, he'll retire. This is the last fight on his contract anyways.

Dana said at the press conference today that "it depends on his performance".
Man, this guy likes to change his mind a lot.

Never going to happen. I find the idea of Chuck being "cut" as just laughable, as much as after the Anderson dancefest he said the same thing about Silva. With Strikeforce looking to establish themselves they''d have the chequebooks open in a heartbeat & Dana knows this.

I am now rooting for an absolutely dominating win by Rich, just to see how Dana justifies NOT cutting ol' Chucky.

It's just frustrating, because it's a clear case of Dana not wanting to fire his best buddy.
I know it's hard to say no, what with Chuck's "rededication to his game, but he should've been gone after Shogun smashed him. Dana's cut guys for alot less.

Nope, not at all. It may not be by much, but he has a better shot. Chuck is no closer to the LHW belt than Rich is to the MW title.

Rich Franklin does have a WAAAYY better shot at going for the title at MW then Chuck does at LHW. That doesn't mean Rich will take it off the hands of Anderson though. Plus in order for Chuck to get that LHW title shot, he has to go through the same people that just demolished him. Rampage, Lyoto(Not him), Rashad. Chuck has no chance against either of those.

Dana said at the press conference today that "it depends on his performance". Man, this guy likes to change his mind a lot. This was the first thing I though before even reading the article. Glad to see I was on to something. If Chuck loses, I fully expect him to use the mic time to announce his retirement, which would be a more fitting end than having to hear Dana say "He's gone" at the post-fight conference.

Well, Chuck getting on the mic didn't happen, so I guess Dana will announce more at the post-fight press conference. Either that or hopefully Chuck will make the announcement. Either way, I hope Chuck is done.

I guess i took shot the wrong way. If you meant shot as in getting another fight at the title, then ok, I thought you meant shot as in a chance to win it
