Rhyno is the most stale wrestler on TNA's roster? I mean the guy has been doing EXACTLY the same stuff for the past 8 years. Nothing from his attire, to his appearance, to his mic skills, to his workrate have improved or changed since he broke into ECW. In TNA, he is just "there." "There" to have good matches on Impact even though nothing ever seems to come from them. He is the most midcarder-ish midcarder in TNA and he floats from one forgettable feud to another.
If TNA is going to continue to use Rhyno in the upper-midcard, I think a repackage-job is long overdue... first off, Rhyno's mic skills are just bad. He shouts into the camera and you can tell in his facial expression that he's blatantly acting. I think the Rhyno character would come off a lot more badass if he just didn't speak... give him a manager that can 'control the animal.'
As far as gimmick... the guy's name is 'Rhyno', so why not give him a gimmick that better goes with the name? Sort of like Monty Brown's Alpha Male gimmick, make Rhyno's mannerisms match that of an African mammal. Have him grunt/snort/ whatever into the camera after his manager is done cutting a promo. For a squash match, have Rhyno walk out to the ring calm and collected, surveying his surroundings with curiosity like a Rhino would. Then when an opponent enters the ramp, Rhyno becomes alert and stares down the 'intruder'... when his opponent moves too close, Rhyno goes apecrapand tosses the guy around like a sack of cheap asian rice. After he pins the guy, Rhyno goes back to being calm, cool and collected and exits the ring.
Finally, his appearance more than anything needs to be revamped. Give him a silver colored singlet matching the color of a Rhino... also have him be clean shaven w/o a goatee. Nothing huge, but just enough to freshen things up. Thoughts?

Well, I thought after your wild african rhino comment that that'd be a good idea. not as much new tights, but have him be kind of a loose cannon like Pillman used to be. After James Storm spit beer in rhyno's face, he flipped out. They could go from there.

agreed he needs a desperate revamp...he could be a great monster like he was in his early ecw days if booked the right way. they had a good thing going with him burning the title belt when vince brought back 'ecw' . he had the crowd in the palm of his hand, but it all soon fizzled out...i think rhyno has been wearing the same singlet for a good year now...for a little while he had the black hoddie for promos which looked pretty damn cool. i think wwe would have done the changes you've mentioned, but with the kind of creative control tna wrestlers apparently have, maybe he has already shot down any ideas tna has had to give him a full make-over.

I too think he's a little stale. Sometimes I watch him, and try to like him, but then all I see is BLAH! He needs a new image and a rougher character.

He has become stale
However I hardly call his fued with Christian forgettable and though him/AJ was not great it was not forgettable quickly. A loose cannon sorta thing would in fact be good for him.

Then when an opponent enters the ramp, Rhyno becomes alert and stares down the 'intruder'... when his opponent moves too close, Rhyno goes ape **** and tosses the guy around like a sack of cheap asian rice. Thoughts? LOL, and I actually was starting to back off of you . If you've seen the show lately, he is going through a character change..they are making him meaner. Now let me go ahead and dispute your claims, just for old times sake ;D : 1. He is the most midcarder-ish midcarder in TNA and he floats from one forgettable feud to another. -I would say his feuds have been a little more than forgettable. they've been feuds but that have kept him in that upper mid card level.( CAGE/RhYno) And this upper mid card you refer to is one reson TNA needs a two hour slot and a TNA TV title. 2. Then when an opponent enters the ramp, Rhyno becomes alert and stares down the 'intruder'... when his opponent moves too close, Rhyno goes ape **** and tosses the guy around like a sack of cheap asian rice. After he pins the guy, Rhyno goes back to being calm, cool and collected and exits the ring -OK, sorry but this idea is just ...well . So you are saing it would be more entertaining to watch a guy pretend like he's a rhinocerous? I think he's mean and tough enough, thus his name...this isnt Animorphs . Besides, the monster/manger bit has been and is being done with mitchell. I Dont think Rhino is stale, I just think, like most of the talent on the roster, there is just not enough time to get people involved in good storylines. Rhino, this past week proved that he's championship material and if anything, he needs to have the world title put back on him. I liked the notion of Joe/Rhino teaming up as TNA seems to hint at from time to time...should Joe win the tag title I'd love for him to choose the war machine! And to answer the first question...BG JAmes is the most stale wrestler on TNA's roster!

Oh no, what have I done by creating this thread? Please deskjet... please spare me the wrath of your conflicting arguments, biased opinions, and laughable debating skills!!! You think throwing random objects around like an idiot is 'making him meaner'? I think it is making him look like a joke more than anything. That wasn't even a character change... it was just a way for Rhyno and Storm to enter a feud. It would be something different... but (GASP!!!) it can't be different or else it's bad, right? I never said Rhyno should wear a fury grey jump suit and sport a horn on his head... but it would be interesting to see Rhyno act the way I described. It'd beat the hell out of this "kindhearted guy from Detroit" gimmick which is so boring and useless.

Hasn't changed his attire? Not true! When he went to WWE, he changed the name on his attire from Rhino to Rhyno...then, when he went to TNA, he changed it back again.

hmmm. so my debationg skills are laughable ok....
So throwing random objects makes him look like a joke and your "snorting and grunting at the camera'..then going to the ring and acting like this African mammal in maneurisms is not a joke?
Good god, I'm glad the killers bees and British bulldogs arent around anymore...wrestlers would be gettin butt tagged and their legs chewed off.
Any suggestions for Sharkboy? oh wait, he does sorta act like a shark.
Hmmm...and my arguments are conflicting however, Throwing things around and going crazy doesnt sound like a kind hearted Detroit guy to me, so which is he?

Hmmm...and my arguments are conflicting however, Throwing things around and going crazy doesnt sound like a kind hearted Detroit guy to me, so which is he? So in the last few weeks he has been an 'angry' kind-hearted Detroit guy. Hardly a significant gimmick change... So throwing random objects makes him look like a joke and your "snorting and grunting at the camera'..then going to the ring and acting like this African mammal in maneurisms is not a joke? Let's see... Joke: Getting beer poured on your face after selling a move, and popping up as if the move never happened only to take out your aggression on stage props. Not a Joke: Getting your ass handed to you by a guy that snorts into the camera, and will rip your head off for 'getting too close.' Now it's your turn to once again fail at mocking my idea...

I cant even give you an a for effort. why dont you stop trying to always prove you're right and just engage in conversation without putting up a defense, Does it make you feel better or something ;D

LOL, I'll take this as you conceding to my victory. Your delusional mind can take it however it wants to. The rest of humanity will take it as you lacking the intelligence to make a sensible counterpoint. But then again, your idea of 'victory' is getting the last word, however foolish it may be. So go ahead, troll, get the last word in and claim your imaginary victory...

So go ahead, troll, get the last word in and claim your imaginary victory... Wow, now we're resorting to name calling. Isnt this soemthing you referred to one time as charateristic of someone that knows they've been bested or something to that nature. And oddly enough I dont recall calling you out of your name or saying anything about you personally one time...hmmm. Then I'm supposed to what, sit back and except your derogatory comments on my person? yea, that's it because if I fight back, I'm the one with the problem. Well, I choose not to engage in it this time. I've proven my point clearly and exposed you for who you are...whether other people see it or not is subjective thus not open to validity. I disagreed with what you had to say, you dint have a reasonable or rational reply so you got defensive, then angry. I think its clear hear who the sensible one is.
