Hey guys, so I've been reading the Hasbro threads for a little while now and it inspired me to do a little passion project for my ever expanding collection. What started out as a small project kinda took on a life of its own and became a collector's guide and coloring book for series 1. I've done everything from start to finish and it honestly has been a labor of love. I can't work out how to post images, but if anyone is interested please check my instagram @iza_collects or it's available to purchase here (for $10 each plus shipping) - izacollects.bigcartel.com/

Hey all... I've Just joined this forum after stumbling across it on google Here is a pick of my original Hasbro collection from when I was a kid in early/mid 90's. I've been adding to the collection recently, so about a third of these were mine from new back then and the rest I've been buying online to build the set up. Ahhh.... update.... just can't seem to post a pic anyway on here. how are you guys doing it?

Yours however looks like it was made yesterday - great display

Yeah I never had the winged eagle with the sticker, I ordered this one from the WWF magazine back in the day, and you're right it's in amazing condition, I was one of those strange kids that really looked after my toys and kept the boxes lol. Nothing beats the original Hasbros right!

I think you should have your own thread for your collection, which is very nice, BTW. They do look nice and minty.

Nothing beats the original Hasbros right! I also looked after my toys more than most kids I knew; I never loaned anything out to anyone, and any time someone broke one of the Hasbros then I'd be depressed for days (Macho King was accidently broken by a friend and it still hurts And I remember going mad when my very young cousin broke my Andre figure - my sister tried to calm me by saying she'd get me a new one, which just made me angrier since he'd been out of production for years at that point; the brat couldn't have picked a worse figure to break!). I must've been a fun kid to be around I kept all the cards that came with the figures, but keeping larger boxes like the rings or the title belt wasn't on sadly. My mother now legitimately regrets not buying a second every time she bought me a Hasbro figure since I started collecting them MOC and she heard some of the prices they go for - I'd worry for her health if she saw some of the prices on eBay these day It's amazing how much love there still is for the Hasbros

Where was this forum last Thursday when I was trying to find out the value of my collection? Now that I more or less "gave it away" I'm finding all sorts of information but it's too much too late.
I am one of the original model makers for Hasbro! I did everything to the originals as soon as design turned them over to the shop. My collection was "one in the world" original. Apparently the buyer knew what I had was valuable but because no one else had it I could not trace auctions or any other links to find out. I posted on CL and other sites I found and everyone wanted what I had but no one made a offer to when the buyer flashed me a offer I took it.
Now I'm sick. I loose sleep and can't eat right. My whole body is affected now that I found all these other websites.
I have read some posts about prototypes and some information is correct but I get a kick out of all the stories I read about how people think it was done. The shop was off limits to just about everyone. No movies were allowed and walls were built around each sample maker from time to time. As management changed the walls came down, then went up again!
Now that I know how valuable my collect is on the market I need to warn collectors that the original WWF sample prototypes are out there somewhere and may be used to build molds to clone them.
There was a forum for WWF that I read yesterday but can't find today that is about "Greg Hammer" I even saw a video event about an original painted prototype and find that interesting because the original is sitting here on my desk. That auctioned figure fetched $12000 on eBay. I'm sick. I would have taken $11999! The buyer walked away with 21 originals including Greg for pennies on the dollar Friday.
Beware! The prototypes you may be buying may not be one of the 7 that Hasbro made!
Now, I have 100's of Joe's, Star Wars, Pretty Ponies, Mortal Combat, Star Gate, Sgt Savage blah blah blah to part with but I lost trust in everyone Friday all because of one person so feeling comfortable to get the right value is going to be tough.
I sure hope I used the right Forum.!

Hate to hear stories like that, what a heart breaking thing to learn. That's the world, though, and he didn't really do anything wrong. Hopefully the offer at least gave you something decent, and hopefully they don't just turn around and flip them for profit which kills the collecting vibe amongst many. Can you share how things were "really done", then? What other info can you share that you see is incorrectly "known" here? We'd love to know!

Anyone have tips to spot repainting done on Hasbros? Wanna make sure I’m getting figures that are actually in good shape, not repainted.

Anyone have tips to spot repainting done on Hasbros? Wanna make sure I’m getting figures that are actually in good shape, not repainted. The figures should have a shiny look to it, if it is matte then it's repainted and maybe not sealed. For most figures there are 6 external part, head, left arm, right arm, front torso, back torso and legs. Each part would have been painted separately at the factory, so if there are 2 shades of a colour on 1 part, or the finish isn't the same, then it has been touched up. (Colours may be slightly/very different between parts, because of the use of different types of plastic and the reaction to the sun) The paint should be flat, any unevenness means they didn't sand it down flush before they painted it. If on ebay, compare shades with other listings, of the same figure . Ask the seller. Check for paint ware on the rest of the figure, if there is then it's less likely been repainted Kamala moon belly is probably a repaint. I've bought many WWF Hasbro figures and only 1 was touched up.

Anyone use the RSC retro protectors for their Hasbros? I just got a few in the other day. They seem pretty cool so far. For some reason I’m paranoid that my Yoko bubble is gonna pop off the card. Have any of you guys that use these had an issue like that? I’ll have to get a different case as my Steamboat doesn’t fit. Already got a few hints on where to get one. Thanks in advance.

But they fit all hasbro figures, except for tag teams they don't have cases for tag teams.

Do you have cases from ringside?
