"But if numbers matter as much as he says they do, consider these: He won reelection by a hefty margin of 18 points in 2008 even as Obama carried the state. And Daniels' current approval ratings are hovering between 60 and 70 percent, while the President's is at 52 percent. Those just might be actionable figures." And there is a nice little article on him. www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/10_26/b4184034251063.htm

I've met the man. He is a nice guy who has accomplished a few good things as Governer of Indiana, such as getting the state on Daylight Savings Time, something people were starting to think would never materialize in Indiana.
On the other hand, he has messed some things up. Bad.
He put a cap on property taxes and while the intentions were good at the time, the aftermath is starting to be felt due to crippled funding for the schools all over the state. Teachers are losing jobs and schools are being shut down.
Honestly, when he was re-elected by that hefty margin it was when people were still over-excited about the property tax caps, and I would be willing to bet that now that we are seeing the effects throughout the state, it would NOT be as easy of a win.

He's the governor of my state. I'd probably vote for him.
