I think Leben will surprise many of you if this stays a stand up fight. I have tons of faith in my boy Leben, and hopefully he'll put Akiyama down, as Leben's only TKO loss is to Anderson Silva....

Well, of course he COULD knock Akiyama out, but Akiyama is more well-rounded than he is.

Well, of course he COULD knock Akiyama out, but Akiyama is more well-rounded than he is. And we ALL thought Fedor was more well-rounded than Werdum and look how that panned out. Absolutely NOTHING in MMA is a sure thing. Not even the great Fedor and he was as close to a sure thing as there can possibly be and he still lost. Like I said in the Fedor/Werdum thread, upsets can and WILL happen at any time. That night was 100% proof of that. I think Leben will surprise you and many others in this fight and he's my pick to win. I think it'll either end in KO or TKO in Leben's favor. I'm really looking forward to this card. I think it'll be great and the main event between Carwin & Lesnar will be a vicious slug-fest and someone is taking a nap inside The Octagon for sure. Someone's goin' to sleep in that one, no question about it.

I'm glad someone else knows how amazing Leben is. I think the only way akiyama will win is if he takes this fight to the ground and submits leben

Like I said, Leben WILL surprise you and many others in that fight and without question, he did. He was my pick and like the warrior he is, he pulled through!! ;D

Fedor IS more well-rounded than Werdum, but Werdum was better at Jiu-Jitsu than Fedor was. Fedor has KO'ed and submitted people his whole career and that alone shows well-rounded skills. Werdum has NEVER showed great stand-up fighting. Well, of course he COULD knock Akiyama out, but Akiyama is more well-rounded than he is. More well-rounded eh?? Didn't look that way to me.... Akiyama was tired as and showed superior grappling throughout 90% of the fight. Not sure what you were watching.

ANYWAYS, Fight/Event of the year for me. Haven't seen WEC 49 yet though, so I don't know if that will be changing or not.

Akiyama was on top of Leben more, but Leben was dominating the striking from the bottom. If all Akiyama planned to do was sit in Leben's guard without returning fire, then that is a pretty poor gameplan.
