Precision is one of Silva's claims to fame. I know he's the greatest HW of all time, but Fedor showed zero poise or precision during that moment which is why he got tapped.
To paraphrase Matt Hughes, I think Sliva would've picked Maia up, spun him around on his finger, and then submitted him if they went to the ground.

But Maia couldn't even engage with Silva without getting tagged. I don't think a dazed Maia could've fended off an unharmed Silva, dropping bombs frm the sky. |

Maia was engaging him if you watched. In my opinion, Maia won the last 2 rounds because Silva got tired from all of his showboating.
