I was watching Charmed and that was a question they had to answer.
First they quickly choose save a sister [Prue] but then at the end of the episode [about the Apocalypse] they choose 5 innocents.
So my kinda hard question to you all is would you choose to save your brother/sister or 5 random strangers in any kind of situation?
Another thing I want to ask is if you won't do it for 5 strangers how many random people would it take?
10, 100, 1,000?

I don't have any siblings, but, I'm sure I'd probably choose a sibling if I had one. Provided we didn't have some sort of falling out.

Depends on the situation. If my sister did something intellectually- disabled to get herself in the situation, while the other people were all unknowing bystanders... Well, I might be tempted to pick the strangers.

Without question I'd choose to save my brother. And to answer the other question, it doesn't matter how many other random people there are I'd always choose to save my brother since he's family. My family is more important to me than other people.

I'm just saying, I'm not trying to sway your opinion at all but for me personally it's an easy choice. I dunno if that makes me selfish for holding my family in a higher esteem than someone else's family but that's the way I feel. My family is more important because they gave me life and influenced every facet of who I am... none of the 5 strangers or their families had the same effect. And if one of them were faced with the decision to save one of their brothers or 5 strangers that I happened to be one of I would expect them to make the same decision. |

Blood is thicker than water. I would choose family over ANY stranger. I only have one brother, who is younger, he's my best friend and would not hesitate to risk my life for him. No matter what the numbers are, family always comes first.
