Thanks for all the positive comments guys, they're very appreciated! Two more are up today, one is about my feelings concerning Mark Hunt and the other is about five ways to improve the Undisputed franchise. Get 'em here and here.

What better way to have my morning tea at work than reading what PDW has on offer. I'll admit, I've not seen much of Mark Hunt's work, but know that he's Samoan (living in NZ) and has done well in kickboxing and MMA, and is on a losing streak and yet gets hired by the UFC for four fights. I guess Dana likes to keep people guessing, I don't know, but he could end up like Cro Cop, and find some form again... As for UFC Undisputed (going off the last instalment) for me and my needs personally, (I don't care for DLC or going online) but the submission system/reversal system/clinch system needs complete rehauling, the stat decay (like you mentioned) is abysmal, whereas 2009 (to me) was fine...I just wanted an updated version of 2009, with some bells and whistles here and there, not a total overhaul of a system which wreaks havoc with your right thumb and bottom line is NOT FUN. After some time, I eventually traded it in, and am hoping the EA Sports MMA will provide me with what I'm after. If not, back to 2009, and will cautiously see how next year's instalment pans out. Again, great stuff PDW, cheers!

Thanks a lot man, it's comments like those that make me love my job even more. It's a real inspiration. That said, three articles up today: one focusing on Serra vs. Lytle, another on Bisping vs. Akiyama, and a final one on Chael Sonnen and what I think of him. Get 'em here, here, and here

^^^ You're very welcome. As for these new offerings (best read over a piping hot cup of tea) I agree across the board with your viewpoints, as such: Firstly to Serra/Lytle, to me personally, guys like these two, Matt Hughes and Marcus Davis are somewhat of a backbone to the welterweight division, but I feel, like you, Serra needs to win to keep his name up there with the big names like GSP and Matt Hughes, whereas Lytle has had those '...Of The Night' Bonuses (including a submission one from the UFC110 event here in Sydney) Either way, it's gonna be a great fight. As for Bisping/Akiyama, while I understand that Bisping is a huge name in British MMA and is a well-rounded fighter (his wins over Leben and Kang impressed the hell out of me) I feel that only because he's British that he gets that headline spot, regardless of whether or not the fight is a #1 contender's fight. As for Akiyama, he was impressive as well against Leben, but IMO, similar to Lesnar/Carwin, his cardio was what let him down, as Leben looked better as time went on. Akiyama's ground game and strikes from inside the guard are quite good though, so another interesting fight I reckon, as Bisping's clinch game and right hands are weapons in their own right. Lastly, the man who I love impersonating for my brother, Chael Sonnen...hehehe...Couldn't agree more, his tact when dealing with the MMA media has been something out of 'Heel Promos 101', but the fact he doesn't repeat himself too much and is getting people talking is a masterstroke. I understand you're a big Silva fan, I like him, but his performances against Maia and Griffin clearly showed me where his flaws are. If Sonnen can exploit that, again we'll have another fantastic fight on our hands. Keep it up PDW, +1 to you Sir.

Good stuff, man. I always look forward to reading your comments. And I think I'm developing my own little userbase on fighters.com, which is great. My articles always seem to generate at least a couple of replies, which is awesome. I may have earned a couple of black marks to a few people for my opinions in the Shogun article, but people are paying attention, and I think that's what's important. Posted late last night is my thoughts on fighter's entrance music, get it here.

The Mark Hunt article is a pretty good read. I admit I am very biased towards him, but he's honestly one of the toughest guys I have ever seen fight. He's very hard to knock out (let's be serious here -- the Manhoef punch would have knocked anyone out. Melvin is a serious standup fighter), and he's just generally tough as hell. I won't say he'll ever be champion one day, but I think if he gets good trainers who will help him with his all-around game, he'll be dangerous for some of the lower/mid-tear guys. The Undisputed article just hit it right on the money. 'Nuff said. Everyone knows my frustrations with the game. What you said about the entrance music is really cool. I didn't think too many people paid attention to that stuff as I do, but I think music can really play a part in how a fighter is looked at if someone is seeing them for the first time. Sometimes music can just be cool as hell to hear someone come out to. One of my recent favorites was in February where Randy Couture came out to "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent. It's an AWESOME song, and the fact that Randy won by rear naked choke just put the icing on the cake for me. Other favorites of mine are Mirko Cro Cop's "Wild Boys" by Duran Duran and Wanderlei Silva's "Sandstorm" by Darude. Those are more nostalgic ones from PRIDE, but I always associate those songs with the fighters. Great article. My favorite one by far, I just wish you would have mentioned more.

I'm partial to Ortiz's "Mosh" entrance music, as it fits with him IMO.

He had me more excited when he went against Shogun and came out to "Raining Blood" by Slayer. I thought he was going to someone up.

Rashad evans always picks different songs depending on his fight and i feel that they are effective
for the chuck fight he came out to point of no return by immortal technique i guess he felt he couldnt back diwn from chuck and not return to the lightheavyweight division without victory for the forrest fight he came out to step into a world by krs one i guess he felt like his game was on another level compared to forrest for the machida fight he came out to time 4 sum aksion by redman i guess he was gonna make the fight exciting and make machida fight him (wasnt too effective for him) for the thiago silva fight he came out to the same song as the forrest fight for the rampage fight he came out to shook ones part ii by mobb deep because he probably felt rampage was "shook" or scared
good articles though keep em coming

Really loving the replies so far, keep 'em coming guys! Today's article covers another controversial topic, steroids in MMA. I actually find myself agreeing with Ken Shamrock's recent comments regarding the debate. Get it here. Edit: two for today, really trying to get into the habit of posting two per day again. Up next is my thoughts on Jake Shields signing with the UFC, get it here.

The two things that kill those movies for me are they story lines like you said It's always some old past his prime fighter trying to make it back or some underground fight league and alot of boxing ones are about crooked promoters. Also the fight scenes are HORRIBLE! What they do is have the fighters or the actors do it in in slow mo and then speed it up but then it ends up looking so fake. If you get a chance you should watch "The Art Of Action", its a really good doc about the old Martial Art movies. Dude I completly agree. ing hate stat decay and the reversal system. I think they need to redo the fighter's stats aswell. Also a mode somewhat like MMA Tycoon would be sweet. Dude I can't tell how many times i've heard meatheads say Brock is all steroids. I do think that most people tend to judge right away that alot of fighters use them but from what i've heard they all say that the Heavyweights do them. I can honesty say that each day I look foward to reading your writings. Also any chance your gonna do one about the ground game? Like how most people in the U.S. boo but in Japan there interested in it.

Anderson used "Time 4 Sum Aksion" at UFC 64 and 67. Anthony Johnson also used it at UFC 106.

One of the greatest movie moments in history along with one of the greatest Youtube comments.
