TNA will never have it's own true, unique identity if they keep rehashing garbage like this. TNA won't have it's own identity because it's fans won't let it. They've done a lot in the last 7 months, and a lot in the past years to become it's own thing. People don't understand that just because there is an x-division with people flying around, doesn't mean there will be any boost in ratings. It'll just make people think wrestling is more fake than what they already want to think of it as. They need drama- TNA has it They need hardcore matches- TNA has it They need new and upcoming wrestlers with their own gimmick-TNA let's the guys create their own characters. 'fans' are so wrapped up in wanting it to become something different and it already is. Sure, you'll get tastes of WCW, ECW, some WWE, but the characters they use, stick out. The older wrestlers are kept in the background, while the new ones are taking the stage. and the only way for TNA to create an image for itself is to push these young new faces, which they are. The Pope Abyss Jay Lethal Desmond The Beautiful People and with RVD, Jeff Hardy, and other big names, it's going to do nothing but help these younger stars become something memorable ^Best post in regards to TNA I have ever read. I agree 100% with you. Nice post

Get Sabu and Sandman in and I'll watch without fail, if they get Heyman and let him control it, wow, bit change in the wrestling world IMO.

When you can see a person get punched in the face and knocked out on the same channel (UFC) and someone can get hit with a steal chair or a lead pipe and keep fighting, just screams complete fake. Wrestling should stay as far away from Hardcore matches as humanly possible if they ever want to be taken seriously again.

When you see a guy get clocked with a steal chair, he's getting clocked with a steel chair. When you see a guy a 450 splash from the turnbuckle, yes it's cool to see, but in a lot of peoples mind it's like "Why don't they just do a splash? The rest is a waste of energry". I'm a big fan of high flying crazy stunts, it's a great change. But when you're trying to reach a certain fan base...well, you need both styles and kept to a minimum. Hardcore matches to get the casual fan and high flying matches to keep that fan around and interested in seeing something new each week.

I'm not saying it has to be hardcore to be 'realistic'. I'm saying it there needs to be hardcore elements to grab attention. I never really cared about a wrestlers getting battered with chairs one week and then the next he'd lose to something like a stunner. It made sense. But, if you want to look at it that way. When fighting, when is that point where you look around for the highest point, and think "Ya know, i'm gonna take a dive'. You don't, but it's when it brings you out of reality that it's truly entertaining

Why are they doing it?... They're doing it, because WWE already did it.

You're just posting something like that because well, you're pro WWE..so TNA can't be good at all, right? But if you want to put it that way, WCW had the invasion angle with NWO long before WWE had any 'invasion' angle of their own.

Who were their focus group because they are stupid.. I guess I'm stupid than, cause ECW was/is my favorite wrestling company ever. That being said I don't want to see them relive it in TNA, just like I didn't like them reliving it in WWE. ECW had a romance and mystique to it and it can never be bottled and caught again regardless of who they bring it.

i bet a lot of people on that poll never watched ecw. if the amount of people who claimed to be fans of ecw actually were, it never would've died.

Tommy Dreamer has been made a fool for years in WWE. Rhyno and Raven don't have much going on. It's a perfect way for Tazz and the Dudleys to get involved in something different after the Jesse storyline. All I can say is give it a chance. Although, I shouldn't be saying that since I already think the NxT thing is annoying, but I'm still tuning into Raw to see if I can get into it and behind the idea of it

I loved Raven and Dreamer in ECW and loved their run as tag champs when they were still feuding at the same time but I really don't see TNA recapturing the feel of ECW so I'd rather someone else get the air time. maybe thats just me though.

We both have good memories of most of the character, but I like that we have different stances on it. Raven has always been a favorite wrestler of mine. He might not be the most gifted, but he was always interesting to watch. He was one of the reason WCW (to me) was entertaining. But like a lot of them, just like Ric Flair. I think they have a lot to add to the business still. Be it in an ECW stable or not, they're all entertaining to watch. I don't know how they're going to entwine sting/hogan/ECW in one show and have it flow well though. That's a lot of writing they're going to have to do to keep it interesting.

even though it has been done time after time...I think it is realistically the best possible thing for Rhyno, Dreamer, Richards, and Raven. I think they really need each other to be successful at this point of there careers. The WWE had a chance to make the "Invasion" angle something special..but they dropped the ball. When that old ECW theme music played on the titantron and out came RVD, Justin Credible, Dreamer, etc I marked out..but then the WWE f***ed it all up.
I think TNA has potential to make this ECW invasion something special. They have most of the key members RVD, Dreamer, Raven, Dudleys, Richards, Rhyno...so I'm extremely interested to see what they do with this.

Well lets see, this past Wrestlemania had 0 Hardcore matches and a serious weapon was only used in 1 match (a ladder in MITB) and it drew over 72,000 fans........How did CZW do? EDIT::::: OH SNAP, I just saw where CZW Cage of Death III put 1500 asses in the seats.....that's like what? The left side of the arena for Smackdown?

Pure wrestling puts asses in seats, plain and simple.
