Here's a good oskanowski-esque post. In the early '80s, a paleontologist was studying a very intelligent ancient dinosaur that existed called the Troodon, and concluded that had dinosaurs not gone extinct, Troodon could have eventually evolved into something as intelligent as what humans today are. Thoughts?

That's weird.. It is interesting but don't things usually get better over time? Poor Troodon has been dead for a long time though.

Looks like a Sleestak
I believe this scenario was already played out in the Super Mario Bros movie

Not really a new theory. It's a fact that dinosaurs were once the dominant species on the planet and their extinction caused mammals to take over that role. If they had remained the dominant species they likely would've evolved intelligence.

It's neat.. A lot of dinosaurs were smart back in the day such as the Velociraptor, Deinonychus, and even the Tyrannosaurus. I think we still got some creatures that are part dinosaur such as jelly fish/Ctenophora. Since the first animal to be on Earth was the Comb Jelly. Even Chimps, they just have this weird thing to them, not too mention are the smartest creature on Earth, I personally believe are smarter than Humans, you don't have to have the ability to create things to be the smartest/or smart on the planet, just look at Stephen hawking.

Im still a little confused with the dinosaurs becoming birds. I believe its true because of all the late dinosaurs with feathers and their body shape being close to birds but I can't figure out how they evolved after being extinct.

You ever see what Velociraptors really looked like? Not to hard to see how they became birds, haha.

they say that most things would evolve into a humanoid like existance if given the proper conditioning and amount of time, it has to do with the shape of our skulls and allowing the development of the frontal cortex.

I always liked that guy, as far as feathered dinosaurs go.

From what I understand, the theory is not that all dinosaurs evolved into birds, just certain ones, due to a genetic mutation causing reptilian scales to become feathers.

Why do you believe chimps are smarter than humans? They haven't developed language. They haven't developed complex tools. They haven't discovered science or art or more than a very, very basic social structure. They throw their own poop and we keep them in cages, not vice versa. How exactly do you define intelligence?

Um... Have you never watched anything about them? They speak to each other. They use rocks as tools to open food, they swing from trees to get where they need, they are a perfect example of intelligence. We keep them in cages because we are animals, just abusing our powers. Not all monkeys are stuck in a zoo. I rarely see monkeys throw poop. They have a fast reaction, not very hard to say, they clearly beat out Humans or are very very close too beating humans, IMO. I'm just a person that isn't selfish to believe, 1. We're the only alive people in space, and 2. That we are the smartest on this planet, more of us? Yes. But I believe we can have animals such as chimps that are smarter than humans.

When a monkey can actually engineer a pneumatic jackhammer then we can talk about them being more intelligent than us. Dogs can hear higher frequencies than humans can. Bears are stronger. Cheetahs can run faster. Does that mean dogs, bears and cheetahs are smarter? Physical abilities have nothing at all to do with intelligence. How exactly are you defining intelligence.

How exactly are you? I posted that video before. That should be enough for you too agree... Yet you bring up " If they can use a Jackhammer " which is dumb, I brought up using a rock because you said that they can't use tools..

If the argument was that chimps have better memory than humans I'd agree.
