Ok - I'm a die hard old-school WWF/WWE fan.
I've collected AWA Remco, WWF LJN, WWF Hasbro and WWE Jakks Classics. I said I would NEVER buy a WWE Mattel figure.
Well...I may have changed my mind.
The upcoming WWE Mattel Legends line-up has just been announced, and I'm jealous. They're getting the Von Erichs, Rougeau Brothers and....wait for it....Macho Man Randy Savage.
I truly prefer the WWE Jakks figures - but I may be splitting up my spending dollars going forward.
Anyone else considering it?

i'm just getting bored of Jakks as I explained in the other thread I am getting truly sick of Jakks lack of effort, moronic decisions, and careless mistakes. Their attempts to involve and get input from us collectors is ridiculously occassional, random, extremely disorganized, unfair and generally pointless and unprofessional. The final nail in the coffin for me that made me start to get majorly pissed off with Jakks was their decision to make TNA figures DA style. In their official TNA body style polls, 70-80% of collectors voted for the RA style. Debate all you want, RA is the more popular, longer established and better all-around style which is the style of the majority of our collections. In order for Jakks to turn this around, we need: -RA figures as the primary style (the style 70-80% of us wanted) -EXPAND the RA Part library. LOTS of new moulds, more realistic, more variety, different scaled parts but still 100% compatible with the rest of RA. -STOP with the oversized balloon heads -STOP with the ridiculously intense screaming headscans -INVOLVE the WF community, with REGULAR, WELL-ORGANIZED and FAIR opportunity for input that actually affects design and lineup choices, and show us protos for our input BEFORE it's too late to change them -Go all-out with the LOTR line, making classic versions of current TNA talent, signing up lots of old WWE/WCW/ECW/NWA/NJPW etc talent. Even without access to WWE copyrights there is still hundreds of popular and deserving stars that could be made. -Plenty of new headscans. We shouldn't see one headscan used for every figure of that superstar for like 2 years before we get a new one. Variety is what we need. -Better likenesses in classic headsculpts - sure most of Jakks headscans are good, but some of the CS heads were just awful likenesses. -Better accuracy in classic figures. There were so many innaccuracies in CS it was ridiculous. OK thats my rant over i think. Come on Jakks, win me back, please. Mattel's Legends line is indeed looking very strong. Big names, excellent accessories, mainly good headsculpts. Although I still think generally Jakks headscans have more sculpt depth and detail than Mattel. But of course half the Jakks heads are ridiculously oversized balloon heads which ruins many figures... Jakks is gonna be buried very quickly if they don't start making some awesome LOTR and RA style figures.

It doesnt bother me at all. I like Jakks and I like Mattel. As long as we get them and they look good, all is good.

No, not really. There are zero names that Mattel announced that I need/want in my collection. There are two "legend figures" I want which are Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart. Jarrett's getting them and there's a good chance Jakks can make an Owen Hart.

Yeah I have to say the announcement of Savage & Warrior along with the protos of the Von Erichs kicked my right in the balls. Man, jakks if you were to ever have ANYTHING news worthy for the LOTR line, now is the time to shown it.

Nope, Mattel is the superior company/product and they just continue to prove it.

I wish Mattel figures would have been scaled better with Jakks so we could do things like head swaps but whatever. I love Jakks and Im loyal to the Classic/Legends line. I will probably start picking up the Mattel like as well though with a few random Elites

Jakks is history, they're completely kicked off the radar now.
Here you come onto the bandwagon, I knew you all would eventually.

I definitely am getting Macho Man but Mattel gives me no reason to completely move to them. I don't see the problem with my jakks figs. I never had much complaints about them.

The only thing that keeps from jumping ship to Mattel is the fact that Hogan is out of the question now due to his status with TNA. Hopefully they go bankrupt soon enough and Mattel's far superior looking Ultimate Warrior will have a proper opponent.

I think I am finally going to start to collect Mattel Elite WWE figures. Still not interested in Basic Line. I hope Jakks starts to make new molds scale finally scale the DA series. At the very least Sting needs an exclusive mold. Also, I think they may still Macho Man, Kerry Von Eric and Owen Hart.

If you're saying "I'm not gonna completely switch to Jakks, but I'll get Macho Man", then Mattel did their jobs. Why did they sign Savage? To get you few holdouts to buy at least ONE product from them. Now, you're gonna. This just continues to show Savage's value as the holy grail of all wrestling figures.

This, the Savage has is coming out for a variety of reasons but one of the big ones is as bait. They're throwing it out there for the non believers to be converted to buy at least one figure and perhaps continue to build a mattel collection even if they didnt initially intend to. I can see how the news would bother the jakks only people though, some of the biggest blanks in their classic collection cant be filled by a figure in the same style.

I am a jakks only guy and I will say not just the news bothers me but seeing the pics too bothers me. A lot of new things coming out look great but I could never fully switch to Mattel and wipe away people I have like Andre, Hogan, Flair and so on. To me it's not just about if it figure looks good it's about the wrestler themselves. That is why I am getting Macho Man because it's him. If jakks made him in the most dumbest looking fashion but the head sculpt looked good I would get it.
