Well, from Iran's perspective...Israel, Pakistan and India have one, so why can't we? I guess once you have obtained the weapon war is off the table?
What's interesting is that Dick Cheney many moons ago said that Iran needed to seek out nuclear energy that way they wouldn't consume all their own resources. Which does make sense, but I'm sure they'd be looking to make more than just "energy".
I just don't know how long the US can keep playing the offensive "prevention" strategy. Try as you may, but more countries will continue obtain the materials to make the bomb. You can't stop everyone, including yourselves.
