Went into a local TRU (one that I don't visit too often) yesterday to see if there was anything new stocked. There were some Legends figures stocked and on the front of 2 pegs something just didn't seem right... The carding was scotch taped near the bottom, otherwise a clean switch. Unbelievable

I hate Jakks con artists. Theyre so jealous that Mattel is making so much better of figs that they can't stand it so they basically trade in their old collection for the new ones. Its bull crap but the worst part is these are probably the same idiots that said they wouldn't be hopping on the Mattel train, but now look at them... Pathetic.

the funny thing is im almost positive those are the identical ones some guy tried to sell on ebay as rare variants. He must of not sold them and then returned them to the store. I luckily have never came across any of these as i know id be pissed if it was someone i was looking for.

I understand Hawk, but IMO that Sgt Slaughter is loads better than Mattel's.
Anyway, I remember seeing Slaughter on eBay a day or so ago being played off as a 1/100 variant or something to that nature.

WOW ..really? How the hell did they even manage to get away with that. Because store employees don't know the brands like we do. I mean this guy at least switched a hawk for a hawk and slaughter for slaughter. The person at the returns desk at best will see the wrestler pictured is in the box. As far as ones we have seen in the past. I don't know how that guy got away returning an APA figure with an Austin head in a Goldust package.

I dont understand why people do this or how a store takes them back seeing as they had tape on the bottom. Stores in the US seem very lazy with stuff like this.

But yeah thats nuts how they can just put figures that dont even match the card, i seen a old school jakks figure in some other post! lol. People...

I'm really getting sick of this. In the past couple of weeks I've seen two Drew McIntyre figures replaced with Jakks figures, and yesterday at the local Target I found Elite Kofi and Morrison switched with Mattel series one Kofi and Survivor series Morrison. The person doing it in northern Mass/southern New Hampshire better hope they never have me catch them doing it.

man i wonder how nobody would walk past the isle and see this. Well I doubt they actually switch it in the store. The OP mention the bottom was scotch taped so it was returned as "unopened", and the employees were obviously completely oblivious to the fact that it was a switch. For those who are upset with this... This happened at my Wal-Mart a few years ago several times, and I finally explained to the main store and toy managers what was going on. They started making customer service beep one of them any time someone returned any WWE toys. I don't know if they ever caught the guy but the switches stopped happening. Toys R Us would be easier to get the managers on board because it is a smaller store. Plus, how many people return unopened wrestling figures legitimately? I recommend doing what I did. I'm sure it will stop the switches and might even get the a$$hole caught. Just show the manager what is going on and believe me he/she WILL do something about it. The stores are not only losing money from the figure stolen... but because there is a "replacement" in the spot that will never move, new figures won't be ordered to replace them. So they're losing more money than just the switched figures and we're obviously losing because no new figures are ordered and the ones we wanted are stolen. Honestly, I'm so irate after reading this post that I'm going to Toys R Us right now, and if I see any of that crap has happened you can bet your bottom dollar I'm showing the managers.

That's funny somebody posted a link to and ebay auction last week that was also from RI with those same to switches. Maybe he was reported to ebay and decided to return them to TRU.

Wish I had a pic to show...but I was at Target yesterday on the hunt for an Elite 4 John Morrison. I looked down and was excited to finally have found it.....only to find an X-Men Wolverine figure in Morrison's packaging.
