First.....I hate Anderson Silva and hope that Sonnen bashes his head in....altho he wont...I can hope! Second.....I hate these Brazilians not fighting each other. They have to understand the business side of it. If not go ing make workout videos or some shit. Just get out of the business if ya dont want to fight. The only two exceptions I can think of off the top of my head are Thiago Silva and Shogun

I don't think it is fair at all for people to criticize Anderson about his comments about staying at middleweight.
he has said he would fight GSP...he said he would go to WW.....then he said he would do a catchweight... after the greasegate incident Anderson rubbed vaseline ALL OVER HIS CHEST AND ARMS on purpose knowing the cameras were on him and knowing GSP was sitting front row. GSP is the one who wants NOTHING to do with Anderson. When Rogan put him on the spot and asked him if he would fight Anderson next, GSP hesitated and sounded like a politician with his diatribe that didn't really answer the question at all.
GSP knows what would happen..it wouldn't matter if Anderson drained himself to look like an ethiopian at 170...or they did it at a catchweight or if GSP properly gained the weight to get to 185...he would be destroyed...
...but Shogun....Shogun is a different story. That is one fight that I think a 100% healthy Shogun vs. a 100% Anderson....ehhhh Shogun would win. :x

GSP doesn't have to go up in wright. GSP has more competition in his weight division. He has also already agreed to a fight with Silva under the right circumstances.
Silva is seriously cleaning out his division with his next 2 fights. Then who? Marquardt again? Okami? Give me a break.

The guy wants to retire though...so why not retire in his division. I'm sure he will have another fight or two outside of the 185 division...but why switch to a completely different division knowing he has plans to retire in the next year or two. That would be pointless and would leave much to be desired. The way I see it Anderson will finish out his career with..
Sonnen Vitor Belfort GSP Marquardt rematch and 1 more fight at LHW.
..not necessarily in that order.

Marquardt again? Seriously. Is he SERIOUSLY that good enough after getting beat by Sonnen to get a rematch?
At the end of the day, I know its his decision. He can do what he wants. But, after talking all that sh*t about going down to 170 and now not wanting to do it seems stupid. Why even open your mouth about it?
I know Anderson is a great fighter. One of the top 3 in the world. But I think to solidify his spot as the #1 fighter in the world, he needs to fight one of those 3 top guys. Fedor isn't an option, so put him in there with GSP. That fight will prove who the best really is. Even if its Silva's last fight, the fight with GSP should happen.
I know... "GSP can move up, too", but GSP's hands are tied in a pretty stacked welterweight division. I think if Silva were to drop down, he should get an immediate match with GSP, no if's, and's or but's.

GSP's division is stacked but the guys that it is stacked with he has beaten already.
Alves Fitch Koscheck Hughes Hardy Serra
I mean who is the CLEAR number 1 contender? Koscheck? Not really because he hasn't beaten any of the guys mentioned above.. He lost to Alves and he won't fight Fitch.. But he gets the fight because of his wins over Daley and Johnson...both of which had some "Jamie Varner" type of theatrics...and weren't very exciting wins. But he gets the shot because he is the only one with the type of wrestling pedigree that could counter GSP's.
After Kos...who does GSP fight?
sure there are intriguing rematches but I still think he is leaps and bounds above the competition.
Kampmann? Shields?.......then who?
I honestly don't mind the WW division or the MW division being put on hold for a bit as far as title shots go to set up Silva vs. GSP. Because both MW and WW title matches for the past 2 years or so haven't been very interesting because of how good Silva and GSP are.

Kampmann, Thiago and Shields are two very serious and NEW opponents. Silva seriously has one left after Sonnen.

"I think going up to fight for the title at 205 pounds is very unlikely at the moment. Shogun is the champion. We've trained together and been on the same team. I find it hard to believe it will happen, but I'm speaking for myself. The group to which I belong also has Lyoto and [Antonio] Rogerio Nogueira in that category, so it's not interesting. Even if I had the extra weight, I have no desire to fight at 205. If there are other opportunities in that class, I'd fight, but I have no desire for the belt. There are other fighters who deserve the chance. Take Lyoto, for example."
Told ya. He does not want to fight Shogun.
