My Frank Mir Rant. To start this I would like to say Mir is possibly my favourite fighter ever. However after watching everyone of his fights back to back last night, it really made me think. God this man has been lucky.
Starting with Wes Sims. I have to say Sims is a complete tool, what he did in the first fight was idiotic. Sims could have won the fight, he just lost his composure. Yes Mir was hurt but I think he could have continued, he was aware and alert. Why take the chance of a loss though. Although I think 70% of fighters would have stood back up and carried on in Mirs Position. Tim Sylvia, amazing arm bar but Sylvia wanted to continue, so why couldn't he?! Okay the Herb Dean? stopped it for the fighters safety, but he wanted to go on and alot of fights have gone on with broken bones, most where the ref wasn't aware to be fair but still. Cruz, lackluster performance by Mir, his first fight back after his accident, okay it's understandable. Christison. Mir was lucky he wasn't fighting a fighter of a higher level, Frank looked unfit and out of place in the octagon, and improvement however on his last fight. Brandon Vera dominated Mir but Mir looks in better shape in the fight but can only last over a minute with a top level stricker. Hardonk, was a much better fight for Mir, looked better than he had in previous fights, nearly got caught out with an omaplata, nicely reversed though, best performance in around 4 fights for Mir. Lesnar I. As a big Mir fan this hurts me to say but Brock made Mir look like a bitch. He dominated him all the fight and Frank pulls a mircle out of his bag of tricks and pulls of an amazing leg lock. The Big Nog fight was a step up in Mirs career, I don't think he has ever looked better than that fight, his stricking was crisp and he looked so fit. Lesnar II. Just yeah. Kongo was my favourite Mir fight. Frank Mir looked on a different level tonight, it was the same sort of performance he put on against Nog. Carwin, similar to Lesnar.
Watching Mirs fights it makes me feel asthough he cant handle the big heavy hitting fighters. Well it's been proved. In the interest of Mirs career I think it would be best for him to drop a weight class, he's what 6'3? thats similar size to Griffin or Bonnar, and looking at Mir's size, I think he could cut to 205.
Mir to light heavyweight?

In some interview after the Carwin fight he said he was going to drop the muscle and naturally lose weight and see if its possible for him to do it or something like that, don't quote me on it because i'm not sure that thats what he said. Also I wouldn't say he pulled a "mircle", Brock ed up and Mir took advantage of it, happens all the time.

We all know it's gunna be a good fight, Nog is no push over. It wouldn't supprise me if Mir loses.

Nog will smash him Mir is washed up now and only opens his big flap just to get it bashed in. He lost to lesner he lost to carwin he can't take on big people any longer so LHW would be a good choice but I don't think he will do it because before he fought carwin he was trying to bulk up so I think it's LHW or he will be cut soon.

Mir has said he is going to lose weight because gaining all that weigh ruined him. Fighting at Light Heavyweight is a pretty funny idea though.

Wow, you just called Mir washed up, coming from a Kimbo fan? Mir is in his early 30's. Which is still relatively young for the modern day MMA fighter. I honestly don't feel we have seen the best in him yet.

I'm sorry, but I don't see Mir as being all that great. He has great submission skills and his striking is coming along okay I guess, but I think he's a tad bit overrated.

Don't be sorry it's your opinion. If you read my original post I was saying just that. Even though Mir is my favourite fighter, he hardly ever wins in impressive style.

He's alright, but I've yet to see anything truly impressive from him, save the first fight with Big Nog.

I agree with Mir being a tad overrated. He beat Nog when he had a staph infection. The only highlight the UFC had of Mir was in his fight against Wes Sims.....WES F***ING SIMS.
I completely agree with the guy who made this topic. Mir just always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. I have never been entertained by any of his wins besides the first Brock fight and the Kongo fight.
I hope Nog f***s him up. But Nog has looked like sh** lately so who knows what will happen.

Mir would rip him apart on the ground, and we know it wouldn't take long to get there, hell Mir could knock his over rated ass out, and yes i'm a HUGE Mir fan but even I think he is a tad over rated.

Kimbo is no where near over rated. Seriously... Did anyone ever say he was any good? Okay, that was a little harsh, Kimbo is pretty mediocre, but he isn't talentless. I do think Mir is just given a tiny bit more credit that he deserves, but he's still a good fighter. He recently said he will not cut to 205, though, and he wants to re-focus on Lesnar instead.

Mir has always been real hit or miss.
He has no cardio, knock out power, or gameplans.
His JJ is pretty good when he's fresh and on top. But get him in a bad position and he seems to give up.
He lacks heart.

Mir Hasen't beaten anyone great lately but really instead of making fun of the fact that I like kimbo let's take a look a mir who lost to carwin and lesner. If he hadn't lost those fights he would be champ right now. Before those fights he was doing ok he had a three win streak. lost to lesner gave us hope after kongo then losses to carwin. He has had opportunities and failed um.
