I remember going into TRU and buying the Superstars series 2 HBK. I got home and took him out of the package and his leg was extremely loose. I always wanted to go back and get another one but never did.
My favorite memory would have to be going into TRU and seeing all of Superstar series 3 and freaking out. I only had enough money for two so i got Bulldog and Mankind. My mom then picked up Ahmed and Bret Hart and bought both of them for me.
Mankind and Davey boy Smith had a long fued in my fed. I made them have a best of 5 series with Mankind winning. He then went on to fued with HBK while the Bulldog teamed up with Owen to win the Tag Team titles
I had a loser goes to wcw match between Ahmed and Justin Hawk Bradshaw with Bradshaw winning.
I had a big ppv where it was wwf vs wcw vs ecw and every match was a triangle match. The main event was Kane (wwf champ) vs Taz (ecw champ) vs Hollywood Hogan (wcw champion) Kane won but the next night he lost the wcw title to Bret Hart and the ecw title to Mankind.

This post just jogged a memory. The 1999 Royal Rumble mail aways.
How many people actually got these figures? I ordered the PPV, waited for the cable bill, mailed the cable bill out.. waited the 6 weeks.. finally got a package and inside was a t-shirt.. a 1999 Royal Rumble t-shirt. There was also a letter, apologizing that they were out of the figures. As a 10 year old, I was beyond pissed, and the large t-shirt they sent me fit very poorly to say the least. I've seen pictures of the figures so I know they exist.. Did anyone else get snubbed with a t-shirt instead of the Vince & Austin figures promised? It was the last time I ever bothered trying to get one of their free PPV give away prizes..

See, I would've thought that an exclusive pack is produced in the low thousands even in those days, but the Royal Rumble bagged set has never been that readily available on the secondary market and I've heard similar stories of people not receiving the figures.
The deadline for entry was March 29th, but I don't know if that mattered much since many early senders never heard back either. I've never known an explanation for this, but either a person's bill got lost in the mail, didn't mail their bill back before the deadline, or there was a complete and utter failure to live up to the promotion on the WWF's/Jakks' part for each case.
They could have simply underestimated the number of PPV purchases since wrestling was so hot at the time. I did a little research and found that there were 415,000 more buys of the 1999 Rumble than the previous year, totalling 690,000 in all, and there had to be at least a couple of thousand buyers who sent their bill in for the exclusive figures; in fact, I remember the TV adverts encouraging the viewer to send away for the figures.
Now, I really doubt that 690,000 people thought they were going to get the figures, and I also fail to see how the numbers would be underestimated since WrestleMania XIV and Summerslam 1998 did well over 700,000 buys months earlier, but maybe there isn't a clear-cut explanation other than, oh, stupidity on their part. But, I can't blame them for not producing more of these figures; the promotion might have fallen flat on its face with a lot of leftover plastic to be buried in a desert somewhere lol.
Actually, I bought mine on eBay about a year and a half ago with the original bag, and in close to mint condition, for about $9 shipped. I still see them available from time to time, but never for under $10.

Was there ever any reason given to why Jakks felt the need to give Vader's body mold to D'Lo Brown for his 2nd figure?? I thought his first figure in the 2 Tuff tag set with Kama Mustafa was perfect for him. It made no sense to get the new D'Lo figure if you were still using Vader (Though I am aware the Vader mold for Vader himself was way off, his waist was not that small ever!)

other than the arms, the body worked pretty well for D-Lo. I agree it looked silly next to Vader, but Vader should have been much larger.

I actually liked the D'lo with the Vader body i used that figure quite alot in my fed.
I always wondered why the Goldust figure in the 2Tuff series 1 had one half of his face painted and the other half was not.
Was the Camo Carnage series removed from stores? I remember hearing about someone complaing saying that they were too violent for kids.

The Goldust half painted/half not look was something he actually did back in 1997 when he was baby face and having issues with Marlena on TV and such. It was when the Goldust gimmick was kind of changing into this really weird twisted gimmick when he turned heel and had Luna Vachon has his new manager.

Camo Carnage, a.k.a. S.T.O.M.P. Series 4, had a second wave released to stores without all of the weapons that were deemed violent for kids.
The first wave then became somewhat valuable as it was replaced on store shelves, but none of that matters anymore for most collectors. I've seen the complete sets listed on eBay where sellers try to promote that fact, but it really doesn't increase sales for those figures.
I never owned any of them to my knowledge, and I still don't really like how they were considered S.T.O.M.P. figures when the molds are completely different. I would've rather had regular S.T.O.M.P. figures instead for Series 4.

I honestly never liked those STOMP figures...even know. Most of the scans were awful by BCA standards, the bodies were too hard plastic, and it was just a ridiculous concept to be honest.
I had an Owen for quite awhile (MOC) but decided to part with it, considering there are much better BCA Owen figures out there. Speaking of, I need to track down the "Black Heart" owen, and apparently my "Nation" Owen went missing, so that too.

I have a Goldust from one of those Kay Bee lines. The attire is more black and gold, rather than silver and gold. Was this a re-issue of a previous figure? I know Superstars 1 and 3, as well as Slammers 1, all had silver and gold.
I like it a lot more than the other versions, design wise. More appealing to me, and more current for that time when it came out.

Like I said in the other S.T.O.M.P. Series 2 Owen Hart thread, I have a soft spot for it since it was my only Owen figure for a period of time. None of those figures are particularly impressive, but I like the knockoff feel to them and could have gone for, like, five more series of newer guys if Jakks hadn't cut them short. I'm sure the sales were abysmal lol, but I liked them as a lesser part to the BCA line. All of the various body armor that was created was pretty cool, though. More appealing to me, and more current for that time when it came out. That would be a re-release of the Signature Series 1 Goldust, and I agree about liking it more. Most people remember it from the KOTR Break Down: In Your House Series with the removable gold robe. It was available in a few other singles sets, too, including Best of '97 Series 2 and Special Edition Series 2.

I really like the camo carnage series. I used the HHH and Austin in a boot camp match i had. I also used them as the MIA (Misfits In Action) in my fed

Speaking of Misfits, how did everyone manage without The Oddities? I know that another company made ICP figures that might be in scale with the BCA figures, but no luck on a Golga or Giant Silva.

Yeah, that's what I said, it was a Best of '98 singles series re-release. I bought it in a MOC lot on eBay with the Live Wire Series 1 'Taker, Superstars Series 1 Diesel, and Superstars Series 6 Owen Hart back in late June 2008. That BCA Shawn is AWESOME. I need to own that! This was my favorite BCA Shawn Michaels figure. I would use this one and the WMania 14 ,in the white with black and red hearts, for payperview matches, and then use the series 1 and series 2 Shawns for regular shows. I didn't use the Slammers as much, except for interviews and for a short time where Shawn and Diesel teamed back up and went for the tag titles.
