Always loved that Backlash Jeff figure. HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY!!!!! Those pickups are amaze! Thanks! I agree - Jeff's figures from that era are a lot of fun to collect. I held out on him and the rest of Backlash Series 1 for years because I was convinced I could always find a better deal. While that's probably true, I didn't want to miss out on the complete set when I saw it offered on eBay. I contemplated a Best Offer, but anymore you just can't take the chance of someone else not scooping it out from under you. I ended up paying over $60 shipped for the set ($10 and change each). It was worth it for me to get all of them at once versus playing the waiting game any longer.

Honestly those backlash Bcas complete and mint are worth it, they are pretty hard to come by.. even trying to find pictures of full sets online is confusing. 60$ is pretty good deal in my book! Happy birthday Chicago! I turned 30 this year too lol

I've passed on Angle, Rock and Triple H so many times. Ultimately, it was the savings on the other three that made it an easy decision. I probably would've had to spend $15-20 minimum just to get a mint Jeff Hardy.

Goddamn that's a helluva haul
I may be in the minority (or we as a people may be in the minority), but that Backlash set really gives me a yearning for a present day BCA set

Am I the only one that thinks the BCA era Stone Cold's looked like Robert Englund?

Am I the only one that thinks the BCA era Stone Cold's looked like Robert Englund? Different BCA era Stone Cold figures tended to look like a lot of people, none of them Steve Austin.

Does anyone know or remember if Jakks ever did any toy commercials for the Series 1-4 figures of the BCA line?
Is Series 5 the first Jakks toy commercial? -- As a kid, this is the only commercial that I actually remember seeing. These came out around Summerslam '97 and that's the first place I saw them -- at those live event kiosks.
I have no memory of a Series 1 BCA commercial or honestly any commercials before or beyond the Series 5 figures. Does anyone know if any others exist?

I have no memory of a Series 1 BCA commercial or honestly any commercials before or beyond the Series 5 figures. Does anyone know if any others exist? Those are the ones that I remember best. To the best of my knowledge, there were no commercial spots for Superstars Series 1-4 or 6-9. Throughout December '97, there were variations of the Austin/McMahon and Headbanger/LOD ads that aired during RAW (and which can be seen on the network today). Some mentioned Series 5, others showed gift sets like Buried Alive and the Championship Title Series; one even had Tag Team Series 1. By early March '98, RAW was "brought to you by" Legends Series 1, and later in the month Slammers Series 1 (minus Bret) was featured in an ad with Mankind (YouTube link quoted below). Anything after that is honestly a blur for me. Really? That's great to hear. I spotted a few commercials/ads when I watched through all of Raw in '98 last year. Unfortunately, the links will no longer work from my blog, but I'll try to see if I can find any substitutes for them. If you remember any specific dates from those Raws, let me know. I'm currently watching 98 at the moment. What I will do is skim back through and write the dates in the post with details of the advert. the tag team one had LOD figures being slammed in a locker door by the Headbangers and the Series 5/iron rung set had the same austin promo. Superstars Series 5 were advertised on 10/13/97 using the Austin promo 03/30/98 mankind was promoting Slammers 1 set Thanks for sharing this. Notice the absence of Slammers Series 1 Bret Hart from that commercial. He had long since left for WCW when this ad ran in the spring of 1998. I vaguely remember watching episodes of Raw from March/April '98 where both this set and Legends Series 1 were promoted during the show. Needless to say, both lines flopped and BCA Superstars Series 6 picked up where Slammers Series 3 left off later in the year.

Yes, I've always loved the old Hasbro and ECW figure commercials, but the LJN ones are probably the best of the bunch. There's an old BCA figure commercial from 1999 on an old tape I own with some of the later series figures advertised with Grapple Gear accessories and, I think, the Attitude ring, but I've never seen it on YouTube. I'll have to check for this again.

Kind of a gutsy choice going with goldust in the first series I think. Very controversial character at the time

Awesome stuff. That Slammers ad .... Both LJN, Hasbro, and Galoob had a good amount of TV spots for their figures. I'm kind of surprised that Jakks didn't follow their lead. I could be wrong, but I also don't remember any WCW toy commercials during this 1994-96 era. Maybe it was just a lull in wrestling.

I wish I could fully remember the days of the BCAs. I remember I always had an issue with the heads falling off and even some of the pony tails because I was a little reckless lol. I never got the awesome monster ring I remember seeing it at KB toys and for whatever reason decided not to get it.

Any one looking for this set? Was doing a little reorganizing today and stumbled across it.

Does anyone remember the rumored line-up for the second series of the Jakks Legends figure line. The first series consisted of Andre, Freddie Blassie, Lou Albano, and Jimmy Snuka. These figures were more like statues than figures and Jakks created some odd boxed sets with them. I remember there was a WWF magazine article - not sure if it was a Q&A fan mail thing or an actual article about the toys - where someone mentioned the lineup for series 2. I can't for the life of me find that article now, but I know I've seen it. Anyone else remember?
