Are the BCA Undertakers based on the Ministry of Darkness era accurate? what do you mean accurate? i believe the series 9 comes with a hooded robe & the signature series 6 has a different head sculpt. I believe those were the only 2 Ministry style bca undertakers

Are the BCA Undertakers based on the Ministry of Darkness era accurate? Not necessarily. Undertaker's BCA figures from 1999 are almost all based on his look from 1998, which as you know was before the Ministry of Darkness era. The closest that Jakks ever came to a Ministry look was in the modified Superstars Series 1 head used for Signature Series 6 Undertaker, as seen below. Any attempts that were made at capturing his full Ministry appearance took place after the BCA era ended and TTL figure production began in the fall of 1999.

I have done this but don't have any pictures at the moment. I'll try to get some pictures in the next couple of days. Amazing, thanks so much! Would love to see this. Haven't forgot about getting those Razor pics for you, just haven't had the chance to dig him out.

I had seen the razor/diesel puzzle zoo 2pack on ebay. I think it was around $50-$60, but there was also another listing with loose ones. They were basically taken pics on the tile floor and it looked like them, but they both (or Razor, I forgot, pretty sure it was both) had purple wristtape on them. I know I saw someone in this thread talking about them saying their razor or diesel had purple wristtape, I'm not sure if he painted over the razor in the photo to look like the exclusive one or not but someone had bought it for $2 I believe.

So, there are two Diesels and two Razors, right? What attires are the Diesels in? So, there are two Diesels and two Razors, right? What attires are the Diesels in? Chicago can list of actual releases and re-releases but as I know there are only 2 different attires for Diesel, the "Diesel" one and the "big daddy cool" one which I think was only in the Razor/Diesel 2 pack.Correct. The were 3 Diesels, Series 1, Series 3 Re-Release & The Diesel from the Razor/Diesel 2 pack & there were 2 Razors, Series 1 & the Razor/Diesel 2 pack I went on eBay, haven't bought figures in a long time, let alone BCAs, got this lot for $43. I like the general theme of 1996-97 BCA figures even though I'm not crazy about the price. I'm just really hesitant to buy loose BCA figures since I've been burned in the past, but more power to you for taking the leap of faith. I hope these all work out well for you in whatever it is you decide to do with them. Nice score man! I think you got a pretty good deal with all those about 1$ a fig. I'm no expert but yoko, d'lo, and the Superstar Series 1 & 2 figs like that Warrior and the bret harts are the highlights for me Series 2 Ultimate Warrior is definitely the winner of the bunch. By the way, @thewoyan , does yours have an orange or white-colored Warrior logo on the back of its trunks? Thanks for your input. And yeah I agree. I remember walking into a flea market once when I was 7-8 (I'm 16 now), and it was a small lil room full of wrestling related stuff. As far as I can remember I vividly saw grapple gear sets as well as a stone cold figure pushed up against the side of a plastic bin thing. It wasn't the austin with the star boots, or that head, it was one of the later buff ones. I spent like $50 there buying yokozuna, al snow, steve blackman, etc. I also had seen Edge there, in black tights with the kinda brown or reddish logo. Pretty sure there were cockroaches too considering it was an outdoors with indoors area.. And it's Florida. Gotta love flea markets. And bca figures. I had quite a few bca figures. When I'm on my pc and it's easier to type I'll do that. Irrelevant to most of this reply but.. Man the backlash series cards were awesome looking. I really really want the reversed black and red kane as well as the '01 tanktop outfit. Just remembered that my older brother had given me his WWF attitude ring. It was the briefcase one with the catapults and had given me kane as well as others I can't think of. Probably undertaker and Austin. He told me the rock was in his attic somewhere and a year ago or two I had bought a rock and lost him during the process of moving. When I came back to look for stuff I had seen Austin laying on the ground as well as finding a WWF magazine I had never seen before I think it's great that you're 16 and actively seeking out BCA figures that were made before you were born. Do you collect other wrestling figure lines? And if so, what is it about BCA figures that drew you in? Thanks for sharing your latest buys with us, and welcome to the thread.

Yeah, it's both of them. I'm looking at the pics now and I can tell you that those are factory errors with Superstars Series 1 Bret Hart arms (left arm only for Diesel). It's a strange sight, but not unusual for older BCA figures. Credit: eBay seller mile.simps for the above pics.

I had originally looked into buying 2 lots then I realized the shipping alone would've killed me over LOL, but it's all good. It was originally $30 but the shipping is such a pain.
And thank you! I'm glad you think it's great, I'll definitely look forward to buying more and collecting them and enjoying them. I'll also somehow find the backlash sets too, which were released around the time I was born lol
I never really "collected" anything, I always just had a bunch and wrestled with them, I guess in the sense I added up and collected them but I didn't display them or anything when I was younger. My dad who passed away when I was 7 was basically who got me into wrestling, bought me tons of wrestling figures and I'd go to a flea market with him as well a bunch of times, got hasbros and whatnot from there, I distinctly remember my first wrestling toy being that WCW hogan figure that came with the aqua/teal hotrod looking car.
I guess I could say really if I collected any it'd be anything that came out around the time I was young. Like Jakks figures in general and I had some mattel when they first started, As of now I have almost no figures, because most of the ones I've had were either lost in the transition of moving or had been broken. I have a couple LJN figures, few Jakks CS, just a small mishmash, the most I have of any line is the BCA, which I want to increase and add to,
What drew me in? I'm not really sure, I just like the aspect of rubber figures, I always liked having the ability to bend the limbs anyway I want, I always found it easier to use a bca figure for a submission move than a plastic figure, like a cloverleaf or boston crab, of course there's elites but, the WWF in the 90's appeals to me. I wasn't alive to see it obviously but I just think it was a great time for wrestling and it was super hot. I'd rather watch an old pay per view as opposed to watch "Fastlane" or whatever goofy pay per view names WWE has now, the early 2000s were great as well. Wrestling was a big part of my life and still is, it's just kind of decreased overtime with the lack of any attraction to WWE's new stuff. There's definitely other promotions out there but I just can't really enjoy most modern wrestling. I definitely appreciate what WWE has to offer now though signing all the once major indy talent.
Sorry for ranting about wrestling but I figured I might as well be detailed about my answers. BCAs appealed to me because of the era, the rubber limbs, and the overall charm, It's just a feeling, like a good one, I would rather stare at BCAs all day then other Jakks figures later on. I just think they did really well except for the inaccurate designs, like elbow pads on HBK, weird unfitting body molds like Vader and Edge looking like a roidy magoo, but hey it's all good. I find it great.
And you're welcome! I like the community this post has going on. I basically read through it all sitting down on my phone at one point. I don't have a ton of stories but I'm sure I could name a few later on if anyone would be interested.
Edit: also have 2 wrestling bobbleheads as well. hulk hogan & kane, have no clue when I got those, probably off ebay a long time ago
Edit 2: Yep, those are the ones I saw, for $2 I believe, thats what they were at when I saw them, so it's just a factory error?

@thewoyan Yeah, factory errors are pretty common with these figures, especially in the first two Superstars Series sets. I understand how it can be with shipping. Now that you mention it, $30 for the original price sounds like a good deal to me. I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing when you were seven, but it is great that you have something to remember him by. I used to play with my Hasbro WWF figures in the presence of my grandparents when I would stay at their place as a kid, and I have my other grandfather (the only living grandparent on either side of the family) to thank for agreeing to go with my mom and me to wrestling shows in downtown Baltimore back in the early '90s. I don't know if my interest in wrestling would have survived past early childhood were it not for family allowing me to immerse myself in the product. Your reasons for wanting to collect BCA figures fall right in line with the rest of us, I'm sure. It was a fun line to collect in its heyday and not much has changed since most of the Attitude Era programming can be streamed on WWE Network. There are times when I wish the line could have been stretched back to the New Generation Era or forward to the McMahon-Helmsley Era of WWF TV, but I'm content with what we were given from 1996 to 2001 with the original BCA figures. I know I really appreciate the perspective that you bring to this thread, and I hope we'll get to see you add many more Jakks figures to your collection.

I see, that's cool, shoulda picked them up. And it's all good, you get over it after awhile, and it indeed is great I do And I'm glad I share certain interests in the BCA line as others do. and I thank you for appreciating my perspective. I appreciate your kindness, and I hope I do as well. Also, you are the one that ran Vintage Jakks BCA, right?

I stopped doing blog posts a few years back, but I do try and update the checklist page every so often. If you're ever in need of advice or want to know anything about the line, feel free to ask away and I'll try to help in any way that I can. What would you say is at the top of your BCA wish list right now?

That's cool dude! A bit ago when I was getting some BCA figures, and when I had been missing them, I would spend so much time checking your blog posts looking at what you've posted. It's an honor to meet you, to be honest And thank you dude! I appreciate it, I'll definitely come to here or you individually for any help on the subject. And I have no clue really, The Razor/Diesel 2pack would be awesome, but really I would just love having Diesel and Razor, even if it's not the pack, I just want wrestlers I haven't previously gotten, although later on I'll definitely get what I've lost, so far I had wanted bulldog, sid, bret (had him but wanted him back a lot), owen, etc. I know when I found out about BCA I always wanted (and still do) a cactus jack, as well as a brown attire mankind. I previously have had the white shirt mankind and dude love. If I picked one person I would probably say Cactus Jack. edit: list of all the bcas i have as of now, i'm not 100% sure about some series that were rereleased because they're all loose jeff jarrett - superstars series 6 mark henry - superstars series 6 lod hawk - tag team series/shotgun saturday night series 1? (have no clue, decapitated as well but i have his head) hardcore holly - signature series 6 the rock - signature series 4 xpac - livewire series 2 (such a great figure, think i had signature series 4 dx shirt a long time ago) gangrel - superstars series 9 brian christopher - grudge match w/ taka droz - breakdown iyh kane - 2 tuff series 3 (im guessing? decapitated too, have his head, it actually happened quite recently, mark henry did a move and kanes head just fell off after years of playing with it) honky tonk - ringside collection series 2 stone cold - superstars series 4 (missing a hand... not an arm, but a hand lmao) triple h - superstars series 4 (decapitated, still have head) clarence mason - managers series 1 and that's all my bcas, I have a jeff hardy one albeit the newer style, the road to wrestlemania one, and i believe a painted over chris jericho one in a box Chicago, I think for some reason my rock has a white signature instead of a dark blue, I looked it up on google images and I ended up seeing a pic of one MOC with a white signature Unknown or known variant?

Chicago , I think for some reason my rock has a white signature instead of a dark blue, I looked it up on google images and I ended up seeing a pic of one MOC with a white signature Unknown or known variant? It's a known variant. Four of the six figures I own from Signature Series 4 have the standard blue signature; the other two, X-Pac and Ken Shamrock, have the white signature. I've heard that the WWF scratch logo on the front of the packaging differs between the first shipment and later shipments of Series 4. The first shipment is said to have a plain logo (possibly all black?), whereas the later shipments have that blue chrome look. I don't know how true this is though because they all look the same to me. There also may be another variation to X-Pac; something about a light blue vs. dark blue signature which I'll have to look into when I get the chance. Here are MOC pics of my Signature Series 4 figures: X-Pac with white signature Ken Shamrock with white signature The Rock with blue signature Edge with blue signature "The Big Show" Paul Wight with blue signature Stone Cold Steve Austin with blue signature

That's neat. Cool to know. Then again that rock figure is useless for playability. My package should be arriving tomorrow or the 18th, I'll make sure to see if the Warrior in the lot has the white logo on the back or not Just remembered, I had a Vince figure (tanktop with WWF logo) and my brother who was a pyromaniac burned him. What a sad day. I also distinctly remember going to the flea market and checking this lone bin and seeing a packaged WM XV rock, I had also seen the headbangers. And I bought the chyna & hunter 2pk there. pretty damn cool Chicago, do you have a full list of grapple gear sets?

Thanks Chicago Do you have a list of figures or sets you still need? Like any prominent ones? I'm curious Yeah, I still have a good number of BCA figure wants. None that I'm in dire need of at the moment since I'm focusing in more on my 2003-06 Jakks RA figure collection, but they are always there in the back of my mind. I've got holes to fill in the DTA Tour, Live Wire, Raw Is War and Sunday Night Heat sets for sure. I would most like to have The Rock from the Sunday Night Heat Series right about now, but I can never find one for a decent price. Also, if I can get a hold of a Backlash Series 4 Kane (on the green card), that would enable me to have a complete loose set of the original BCA Backlash Series figures. As for boxed sets, two of my bigger wants are the D-Generation X and Shotgun Saturday Night 4-packs.

Ah, I see, that's cool. I saw that Kane on eBay with 2 other Kane figures for like $31. Also seen it loose as well for like $5 plus $2-$3 shipping. Beautiful carding and worth to buy backlash figures moc.
Are there a bunch of variants when it comes to BCA figures? I can only think of the HHH head (which is way better than the main or well known figure itself), warrior's back tights design, and signature color.
I had the newer bca style figures when I was younger. They're cool but not anywhere close to a patch on the old ones. I really do wish they had more backlash series, while also adding new faces to them, even though TTL phased out BCA and were more popular, I'll always prefer BCA. I mean yeah they were still going in 2002-2003 but like I said, newer style doesn't come close to the first style

If I wasn't mostly a loose collector, I would buy the Backlash sets and early Superstars Series figures first to display MOC. When it comes to BCA figure variants, there are MANY and I wouldn't even know where to begin. If you have a particular series/set in mind, I could probably list the variations for you rather than try and cover the entirety of the line. I didn't grow up with the new BCA style and only discovered them after I rebuilt my original BCA collection starting in Summer 2007. There are a few that I'm fond of, like Kurt Angle and The Dudley Boyz, but I could just as easily give them up for one more Backlash set of repaints and re-releases.
