if anybody wants to assist me ripping the parts out of the raws I have, I would be happy to do it as a joint project I'd love to...my hard drive just crashed and I still have to see what I can salvage off of it. I had Final Cut Express and I have a device for VHS to Digital Video capture. I'll keep you posted as to whether or not I can get my programs back, 'cause if so I'd love to help! |

I would like to help, but I'm not familiar with ripping video.  I do have access to Final Cut Pro, though. Back to BCA: What were your favorite stables in your feds/collections? Did you use existing groups from WWF television (DX, Nation, Corporation, Ministry, etc) and expand on to them or did you create your own? Also, how did they originate and what, if anything at all, caused them to break apart? |

I had some stables, but mostly just the ones I liked at the time. DX for me was a big one, I had the Outlaws, HHH, HBK, and X-Pac. As for the others, I had the Nation (Kama, D-Lo, Faarooq) and the Hart Foundation (Bret, Owen, Pillman) have a few six-man tag matches.
There was even a 10-man elimination tag between the Hart Foundation/Nation of Domination vs. DX. Rather than sub in a sixth DX member, I had Kama get "injured" so it evened out.
The Outlaws and D-Lo and Pillman got eliminated by count-out, HHH and Faarooq had a long battle which led to HHH being pinned after the Dominator. X-Pac somehow eliminated Owen, then Bret made X-Pac tap out with the Sharpshooter. HBK eliminated Faarooq, leaving Bret and Shawn to face off.
How I remember the details of that, I'll never know haha.

I had The Hart Foundation: Bret Hart, Owen Hart, British Bulldog and Edge
Edge ended up leaving and forming the Brood with Gangrel and Christian to feud with the Hart Foundation
DX was HBK, Triple H, X-Pac and Outlaws
Nation was Faarooq, D'Lo, Kama, and Mark Henry, and sometimes Savio if I wanted to use him in like Survivor Series matches or something
The Corporation was The Rock, Shamrock, Goldust, Test, Kane and then HBK when he turned on DX.
And I had the Memphis Mafia, which was Jeff Jarrett, Brian Christopher, Jerry Lawler, Sid or Roaddog, depending if one of them went heel.
I kind of kept to the WWE story lines for real, but just did my own thing with it to add a twist.

My personal favorite that I had was the Hart Foundation. Pillman, Bret and Owen, as well as Bulldog with the jackets on Owen Bret and Bulldog.

I had the following groups:
Hart Foundation: Bret,Owen,Bulldog,Pillman.
DX: Hbk,Hhh,Billy Gunn,Road Dogg,X-Pac,Chyna.
Doa: Skull,8 ball,Chaniz,Crush.
Nation: Rock,D'lo,Kama,Mark Henry,Farooq.
Southern pride: Godwin's,Jeff Jarrett,Blackjacks
Revolution: Shane Douglas,Lance Storm,Justin Credible,Steve Corino.
My favorite was the Revolution.They beat everybody in my fig fed.My favorite match was an 8 man hardcore tag team match that i did at a ppv called Heatwave.
Bulldog was the first to be eliminated when Steve corino hit him in the back of the head with a chair.Corino was eliminated when he was pushed off the stage by Bret.Owen took out Justin when he put him thru the announce table.Lance took out Owen with the sharpshooter. Shane Douglas and Lance Storm double teamed Bret Hart and put him in the sharpshooter for the win. Pillman was hurt during the pre show so it was 4 on 3 in that match.
I am glad i had my notebook with me or i would never be able to remember that

Yeah, I wish I had kept a notebook as a kid, but most of my cards were put together on the fly.
Did anyone else play alongside friends from school or in your neighborhood?
My friends and I always used to have mixed battle royals or simultaneous cards with two or more rings positioned next to one another. Back when all we used were the Monster Rings, I remember laying tables between the opposing ring aprons and having to reset the pieces dozens of times.
I know I tried making my own tables out of cardboard, too, but it didn't have the same effect as using the Grapple Gear announcer's table or one of the wooden tables that were released late in the BCA line.
We would play games like tossing the figures into the ring and seeing which wrestler could survive the longest lol. Terrible move if you want to keep your figures in decent condition, which is probably why I lost most of my collection over the years.
I also lit up a BCA dumpster once to see what would happen, and let's just say that the flame was indeed intense and unlike anything I'd ever seen before. A, uh, bucket of water took care of that lol.

There were no other kids in my neighborhood so i would play by myself. All the kids in my class knew i was a wrestling fan but no one ever came to my house.
I spent all of my spare time either writing storylines for my fig fed or doing an odd job for my neighbors to get money to buy more figures.
I still remember when my parents first found my notebook that contained all of my storlines.My dad asked what this was and i told him it was my storlines for my fig fed and he told me he thought it was very good.
I would spend countless hours setting up my arena for a ppv.I would start the preshow at 6:30. I had a small alarm clock so i could keep track of time. At 7:00 i would start the ppv. I had a small CD player and that is what i used for entrance music.I had an interview station set up off to the side.
I would always write out my storyline at least a month in advance.

What was everyones favorite storyline from there fig fed?
What was your least favorite storyline?
Where there any unfinished storylines?
Any storylines changed at the last minute?

I played by myself too, for the simple reason I hated how other kids played with my figures, or just played in general. They would take the wrestlers and have them go really high in the air when doing a move or something, and it just sucked. I liked doing it on my own.
I did make a stage like WCW used to do back in the early 90's at their events that went even with the height of the ring. But then I eventually quit doing that cause it took a while to set up and I rather just play with them when I had an idea. But I have a lot of stuff written down, but I can't find it anymore. I know I have a book with some newer stuff on it that I did back in 2005 with the RA Jakks.

My figure fed was really boring. It mainly stuck to whatever was going on in that time of WWF with SCSA and Bret locked in a year long fued.

I did a few things that didn't make any sense in my fig fed. When Owen Hart passed aways i put his figures on a shelf above my dresser.A few months later i wanted to start the feud between the Hart Foundation and the Revolution.I needed a 4th man for the Hart Foundation so Owen came back for one night only. I did a big buildup for an I.C. title match between Billy Gunn (champion) and Gangrel.I forgot to book the match on the ppv so it never happened.  I ended up forming a new Hart Foundation when Bulldog passed away.The group consisted of Bret Hart,Lance Storm,Mike Awesome,Billy Gunn. |

I'll never understand why Jakks, who always seemed to skimp on quality seemed to give just a number of figures in the early runs elbow pads when the superstar never wore them. Examples are: Shawn Michaels, Warrior, Bulldog, Mankind, Justin Hawk Bradshaw, Helmsly, Austin, Faarooq, Shamrock, Marc Mero, Crush.

I never really let the elbow pads bother me. At least not in the case of the old Mankind/HBK figures.
What I DID hate, though, was when people were supposed to have elbow pads and didn't - like 2 Tuff 3 The Rock. I made my own, which made it cool since he could slide one off for the people's elbow.

Yeah, I agree totally about The Rock figures. I remember I bought a TTL Austin that came with elbow pads just to take them off and put them on The Rock. It looked pretty good actually.
The early Series 1 - 5 figures that had arms with elbow pads never really bothered me for some reason. I thought the HBK arms with the elbow pads looked cool. And they used those same arms on Test too if anyone has not noticed that yet.
I think the only early figure that didn't have elbow pads was Undertaker.
I think it was in Series 5 when they started to use the new molds of bigger arms on the BCA's without elbow pads. But I think every series rawked anyhow, elbow pads or not.

Instead, he had these gauntlet things on his forearms. For a long time, that, along with his lack of any tattoos, bothered me a lot haha. Then Superstars 7 Undertaker came out and was basically perfect. Never used the other one again. |

Elbow pads are not nearly as annoying as painting over them, pretending they don't exist, like Jakks did with Blue Blazer's figure. They did this with the Raw Is War Series Austin in camo gear, too.
I can overlook the inaccuracies (unless it were for a review) since Jakks usually made up for it with the rest of the figure's parts. It is probably for the best that there weren't removable elbow pads in those days because they would have had to cut out some of the detail elsewhere to make up for the cost.
The bigger molds really started with Superstars Series 6 as there had been a long layoff between that and Series 5 which gave Jakks plenty of time to work on new parts. The Series 7 Undertaker was a tremendous upgrade and is definitely my favorite that they used for Undertaker in the BCA line.
