Gosh no. Tom Zenk sucked. And Martel, IMO, wasn't that great.

Martel, in my opinion, was as good as he wanted to be on any given night. The problem was that he had a tendency to rise or fall to the level of his opponents and/or tag team partners.
I've seen Martel turn out tremendous matches and show lots of skill, but I've also seen him phone it in on a regular basis. Zenk's best work was toward the end of his WCW tenure... he was still quite green during the Can-Am days (and not very smart about business).

Martel had a lot of potential and could do some good things when he wanted to. I feel he was just a little too lazy for his own good. Zenk was not very talented during his run with Martel, but his Z-Man run was rather enjoyable.

I feel Martel worked very hard, some of his best WWF work around the 88-90ish period. The split with tito, his charisma just spoke a thousand words. As the model, it was a great character, but he seemed to be less shouty, which i think would have worked well with that gimmick.
If he was pushed, maybe an IC run around that time, i think he would have stamped his legacy and i also think he would have been at his best, maybe its a case of him knowing his place (mid card) and thinking.. "thats what i am", which is a shame if true.
I think martel was awesome, he was fantastic at everything, but a very good all round dude, with tonns of charisma.
I wasnt that fond of Zenk, even when he teamed with Pillman it was obvious who was better, and it wasnt zenk.
I always thought after the strike force split, it would have been cool if they got back together as heels.

Martel was a phenomenal worker, thats why he was AWA world heavyweight champion, Tom Zenk wasnt bad i liked his stuff with brian pillman, i watched a shoot interview with Martel telling a story about how they were to get the tag teams titles and Zenk wanted out so he left and then Tito came in and in my opinion they were even better, Zenk later regreted it
