Was the beginning done with After Effects and if you use that complex of a program you should probably work on the boring font for the rest of the video and there wasnt too much editing in the video itself. Some great clip no doubt but I imagine trying to sync up clips to the song used would have been hard, no real defining beats.

What's different? Witnessed an epic knife-only, 5-1 clutch by my leader in an SnD. Other team shut up after that Who calls them clans anymore. I'm sorry but that word just sounds soooo stupid. They're your team, not your clan. Clan just sounds like a bunch of douche bags. I don't know why I just never liked that word. I agree 100%. When I think of a clan, I think of a group of 13 or 14 year olds screaming at people about how they are going to rape them.....

To be honest, not many people are going to care about your work unless you have HD Quality or something decent. I can tell you like doing this kind of stuff so why not save some money up for an HD PVR. They're like $180 or so on Amazon.

My B-Day is coming up in a a few months so I'll be asking for that. Do you know what requirements you need for an HD PVR? Like is it a USB thing that you hook up? I know what it's for and what not, but my knowledge of what it actually is is zero.

It connects to your TV via the audio/video cords they give you. It connects to your laptop/desktop via USB that connects to the back of the PVR. If you need any help when you get it, i'm your man. Except the fact that I have a 360 and you have a PS3 so it might be slightly different to setup but not much.

Ah, seems I have all the requirements. Now I have to wait for May... Scene - I've really been trying to get some music that's syncable. (New word?) Can't find anything. Any ideas? Weddle - The word 'Clan' sort of stuck. We're mature, though.

Alright I'll explain my views on video editing. Iv'e been doing it for years and am now in school for it. When it comest o music videos know this. You are the musics bitch. The music can't change but the clips can which is where you come in with the editing.
Find a song that suits the nature of your video the two biggest genres for this is rock or rap. If you want an upbeat flashy more fun video rap is the way to go, if you want an intense badass video rock is your answer. Just make sure it has a beat. Theres lots of songs I love but wouldnt edit to because of a lack of hard beat.
Song choice. Well, Treyarch themselves have released 5 great songs for there Nazi zombie mode and Treyarch fans would defiantly love the songs used in a Treyarch game montage. Search Elena Siegman on youtube. The Black Ops songs are more fast faced and would require more clips and the World at War songs are more fluently paced.
Use the track as a sound effects board. not only cut to another clip on a loud beat but also have someone get shot on a loud beat will serve as a gunshot effect to the viewer making the gunshot look more powerful than it was. i never did a gameplay montage but have done lots of wrestling videos and it looks so annoying when someone bumps THAN the beat hits, when its synced it sounds better and makes the bump look more intense, same can be applied here. It comes in practice and since this is a gameplay montage i dont recommend using many effects, some may help pull the sound from the song but dont make it look like a newbs acid trip.

Definitely taking that under consideration. I was thinking maybe Headstrong - Trapt. (Will find video.)

I know that song quite well actually. That would be great for a music video.

I hate to sound negative, but that song is a real cliche for montage videos. It's an obvious choice and it's been used quite often.
I love rock songs in my montages, and good bits of rap too, and I'm not suggesting you go ultra-indy in order to pick a song that's never been done before, I'm just saying that IMO that song has been done to death in montages, and not just video game montages.

I havent heard it in a game montage but i can agree that for wrestling videos its been beaten to death. Typically i stray away from mainstream rock, not because its bad but because its overdone.

I know, just throwing out ideas to see if I'm on the right track. ------ Also not to be negative, but I despise people who act like they're the greatest ever when they hit an across the map tomahawk. Great, you threw a tomahawk in the air at the beginning of a game and randomly hit someone. So what? They take 0 skill. Tomahawks I've been getting recently take skill. Check xSiLeNt_SHaNKx's File Share (PS3) for some REAL tomahawks.
