Not sure how many people know this but Disney has lined up for a 2012 release a remake of the Beatle's Yellow Submarine film. It's going to be done in the same style as Beowulf, Polar Express, and A Christmas Carol. Robert Zemeckis is directing the film. Cary Elwes will voice George Harrison, Peter Serafinowicz will voice Paul McCartney, Adam Campbell will voice Ringo Starr, Dean Lennox Kelly will voice John Lennon, and the tribute band The Fab Four will do the motion capture for the Beatles.
This seems a bit unnecessary, but it could be really good. The cast so far seems good. I'll be interested to see how it'll turn out.
What do you guys think?

I think The Yellow Submarine doesn't need a remake...and I'm kinda mad about it. Just re-release it on DVD or something....no need for a complete remake.

I don't know any of those actors. And it's made by Disney. Hesitant E&C is hesitant.

Yeah, Robin Hood is George Harrison. No, I don't care if he was in Saw or not, he's Robin Hood and that's final.

Why are they trying to mess with perfection?

I remember hearing talks about this a few years ago. Even though I love the original I'm kind of intrested in seeing how this one will be and at least the remake is in good hands. Zemecks makes or has his name attached to some pretty good films. And if you want a re release just wait till next year when its released on blu-ray.

This pisses me off soooo bad. Yellow Submarine is one of the trippiest animated films ever, and now Disney wants to rape it for money.
Some things shouldn't be messed with. It's a classic & should stay this way.

This sounds pretty interesting, I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this turns out. The only thing that will piss me off is, if it's gonna be in 3D. But hopefully the whole 3D fad has died out by then.

Hopefully this leads to a trippy 2D cell shaded XBLA game.

I don't see this actually going past pre- production to be honest.
I never even heard about it until this post, and I read just about every single credible movie website out there on a daily basis.
It doesn't need to happen, LET IT BE! (Get it?? Man, I crack me up!)
