www.wrestlezone.com/news/article/paul-heyman-on-working-for-tna-tna-is-not-ready-for-me-109423When the topic of his recent talks with TNA was brought up, Heyman said, "TNA has held me back from TNA. They are not ready for me." - He said the main thing he wanted out of a deal with TNA was a combination of network-stock-ownership. He added that he has largely stayed away from wrestling since he left in 2006 and hasn't done shoot DVD's, conventions, etc. - the things that most people do when they leave WWE. - Heyman added, "I have no plans on going back into the wrestling business and I have no desire to get back into the wrestling business." - He said he didn't take TNA seriously until Dixie Carter called. Heyman said the timeslots TNA has on Spike is intriguing, but that TNA has a specific vision and they are unclear to themselves about that vision. - Heyman said, "Bottom line with TNA is this: TNA is looking to serve too many masters and you have to have a long-range plan in this industry." - Said WWE has a 90-95% market share of the wrestling business right now, that Vince eats-lives-sleeps pro wrestling and you aren't taking market share out of this guys pocket. Heyman added, "You will have to fight for every inch of turf you get." - Things got interesting when Heyman continued his discussion about TNA adding, "TNA chases Thursday's and are biting their fingernails waiting for the numbers to come in on Friday afternoon and they will never go anywhere if they keep with that mentality." - "If I was a legend in TNA, I would not want Paul Heyman to walk through the door", he added. "If you are over 40 [on the TNA roster], you are getting your f*cking head cut off. I don't want a bunch of guys in their 40's." - Heyman even discussed TNA's "Whole F'N Show" event last Thursday. "TNA comes off their PPV and do this two hour show. And its the original line-up for Hard Justice. They build the whole show to Hulk Hogan's big announcement to bring out ECW guys that get their ass kicked by Ric Flair's guys." Said all the ECW guys are in their 40's and all the focus is on Flair who is even older. - He said if he was booking that show, he would have all the ECW guys, Hogan, Flair, etc. say yeah they are here, but they really want to see that final Best of 5 match between Beer Money and The Machineguns and give that match the main event spot instead of giving all these older talent a main event spot

Meh, I'm over it at this point. If it was going to happen in the future, it would have already happened therefor I think it won't happen in the next 5-10 years unless something drastic happens. I'm over Heyman and TNA working together.

I like his write up and I agree. Although I do love TNA I think Heyman would be great at making the smarter decisions.

I don't think Carter needs to had over everything to him, like, I don't think Heyman should be able to fire whomever he wants. He should have impute on who stays, who goes, who is moved to a smaller role, and of course full creative direction but i don't think Heyman should be able to walk in the door and fire 20+ guys "because he can".

Honestly, I think Heyman is talking out of his ass. He is a marketing machine, but he tries to get himself over as much as possible. And he can do it without even saying his name. It's easy to say he would fire the over 40 crowd in TNA because they are the ones with the most power, so of course he is going to say that because by saying that those guys won't let Heyman come in, and then Heyman could just talk more shit. As interesting as it would be to have Heyman in TNA, it would not make them them promotion everyone thinks.

Without admitting it, I reckon the real reason Heyman won't join TNA is Hogan & Bischoff. If their contracts are due to to expire anytime soon, then Heyman won't be far behind joining TNA. Just depends on the rumours if Hogan & Bischoff signed 1 or 2 year deals.

I guarantee Angle would still be right up at the top if Heyman was in charge.
Same with RVD

Heymans's no fool. And everything he's said is the same thing the rest of the wrestling world...wwe, the IWC, anyone else has said about this company, and yet they still don't listen. The only way this company is gonna compete with WWE is getting someone with a Heyman mindset who plans for long term goals instead of focucusing on the cheap pop every week. It hasn't worked for 8 years, I dont get why they don't try something different for once especially when the answer is staring them in the face.

I got too agree with Heyman. Accept they should keep angle, nash, sting, and rvd. They should have kept the ecw guys away. This angle will have very little long term success. I see a lot of the ecw guys end up fired or on explosion. The Janice thing should never have been came up with. They need too start having more clean world title matches. They should build up sting and nash for a couple more months. IMO they should also bring in a bunch of the indy talent. Desmonde wolfe should be main eventing not abyss. They need too put more focus on Pope, anderson, morgan, hernandez, wolfe, Joe, lethal, and AJ.
They need too start putting more focus on the x-division also. Its been treated like garbage recently. They need more x-division matches and they need too build more x-disvision guys. Bring in Pac and Jack Evans. Bring back amazing red also. Put doug williams elsewhere.
More focus on tna made tag teams also would be good. Generation Me should become number one contenders and feud with MCMG. Have Desmonde Wolfe and Brutus Magnus become bad ass tag team and feud with Beer Money. Have Shannon Moore team up with Helms and Hardy as the leader. Have them in a feud with Team 3D which goes for 3 months then have them in full metal mayhem. Have Moore and Helms win and go on to face the champions and win. Then have them and mcmg/gen. me in a 3 way feud for a couple months on and off.

I completely agree with Heyman about the 40+ crowd, aside from Angle and RVD the majority of their best days have long since passed, and I have to assume they get paid a lot more than the majority of the roster. If TNA needs to cut back on expenses, the big numbers they pay guys like Nash and Sting would make a difference, and it's not a drastic change to TNA's TV shows.
I'm not bashing them, but when someone is wrestling part time for big numbers, I have to question how valuable they are to a up and coming company.

Heyman also said simply he was only looking to become involved with a 'franchise'.

Dang, from what I heard about how good the WWE's ECW COULD have been if he got to book it himself.....he could actually do something good for TNA.

I think Heyman has the right mind to speak... but, the ratings should not matter in terms of politics. If the cast employed along with their performances is approved of by an audience that is more than enough to have a regular, slowly but surely, growing audience.

If TNA listened to what you wanted they would still fail to generate any ratings. Both Sting and Nash are way past their prime, and fans don't care anymore about either one of them. And none of the new guys you want to see heavily pushed fail to draw at all.Plus nobody cares about seeing Shannon Moore,Helms, and Hardy.Hardy only draws to prepubscent girls and to fans 10 years old and younger.
