Lets get this straight, I don't think boxing is better than MMA and if it wasn't Randy, I wouldn't be going for Toney, but Toney is my favorite boxer and TBH, I know I will get flamed for this but i'm not a Randy fan.

Obviously nobody here is putting one sport over the other, but you just know all the simpletons will come out to claim one sport is better than the other when this fight is over. It's a little less intellectually- disabled than comparing wrestling to MMA, but still f*cking dumb.
And I'm not a huge fan of Randy as a fighter, but it's hard not to appreciate him as a part of MMA as a whole.

I swear, didn't an HBO boxing announcer say that boxing was better and MMA was dead after Ray Mercer beat Tim Sylvia? What an asinine statement. And this is on a much larger scale with much bigger names. I shudder to think what would happen if Toney KO's Randy in the first round.

I'm sure plenty of boxing analysts view MMA with the absurd belief that they're all just blood thirsty goons, and not legit fighters. If they did say that though, I'd find it to be pathetic. Especially since most of the announcers on HBO (and tons of analysts across the sport) openly criticize how miserable boxing has become with all the politics. I actually enjoy watching boxing when I can, but it's kind of nuts to hear/read all the negative things that are said/written about the sport. Seems odd that they'd even mention MMA, considering how much bs is going on in their own beloved sport.

I just don't like Toney's sh*t talking about the sport itself. It's obvious he doesn't really know what he's in for.

I already put money on Toney.
Should Randy win? Of course. But once I saw the odds of 1-5, I just had to put money down. There is going to be no secret to what either guy is going to try to do. My only hope for Toney winning is when Randy goes for the clinch, Toney hits him with a hard body/kidney punch.
...it's a shot in the dark.

Chael hasn't talked badly about the sport itself. Toney is has been talking sh*t for a very long time about the sport itself and its fighters.

Sure Toney's a goof but he may get lucky or may have stepped up his game. I didn't mean to offend.

Toney is underestimating the sport and the fighters. Has been for a long time. Like I said he's a goof. I didn't mean to start an argument or anything. I don't know much on the subject. I've just heard him talking trash about some of the fighters.

I always see in UFC threads WAR (insert fighter's name), what exactly does it mean? I honestly have no clue either. I always assumed it had something to do with Jon Koppenhaver and him legally changing his name to War Machine. Figured it was just a joke to list the first name of War and then insert the last name of whomever you wanted. I'm probably way off though.

It doesn't really stand for anything it just means that you support the fighter.

Definitely has nothing to do with War Machine, because the "War [insert fighter name here]" phrase was around years before anyone knew who War Machine was. As Hetfield said, it's basically just a slang way of saying "Let's go [fighter name here]" or stating that you hope he wins big. No idea where it started or the significance of the word "war" though.

Toney could end up winning because this year in mma has been surprising with many unexpected things we though wouldn't happen.
