Jesus, did Scott Pilgrim bomb or what? Also surprised with 5 pretty legitimate movies opening that the Expendables kept its top spot. I think that bodes well for possible sequels.

why does it feel like there hasn't been a weekend box office thread in about 3 months?
anyways poor Michael Cera. Funny guy but he just makes the oddest movies ever. Juno and Superbad were the only movies I liked.
Vampires Suck looks f***ing intellectually- disabled. If they are going to make parody movies they need to make them rated R. This PG-13 sh** is getting old.

Despite my hopes and dreams, Scott Pilgrim is performing EXACTLY how I expected it to. Edgar Wright was thrilled though last week to have a soundtrack AND movie in the top five in the same week.

I contributed to inception and piranhas this weekend. I saw scott pilgrim last weekend and thought it stunk. I really don't understand the appeal of that movie. Inception and piranhas were great though.

I saw The Other Guys on Tuesday but other than that all of these movies are not interesting to me..
I already say Inception too.

I saw Scott Pilgrim 4 times in the last 10 days. This seems to have not done much for the movie though, but it certainly did a lot for me.

How am I not shocked that Vampires Suck...Something that looks beyond intellectually- disabled..Made that much. Yet something that looks good (And that I still want to see) like Scott Pilgrim....Didn't even make much... What a ing joke....I said the other day that the theaters playing Vampires Suck should have Gas Chamber's built into them....

Im surprised Piranha's didnt get in the top 2. I saw so many advertisements on it and it looked liked the perfect date movie to end the summer. My theater was packed opening night. Horror just doesnt get the audience like it use to

Scott Pilgrim only making $5 million and Vampires Suck making $12.2 million is ing incomprehensible. It really isn't. I mean i guess if you were new to the earth and unfamiliar with the people who inhabit it, this would be a shock to you.. but really what do you expect? Scott Pilgrim is the best movie I've seen this year, possibly even the past few years, but when I saw the trailer and tv spots I had no real desire to see it, and thought it looked stupid. The trailers and overall premise of the movie doesn't do justice to the actual final project, so I think people see tv spots and get a feel that it's too outlandish of a concept or way too childish. But I think lots of people who eventually may catch the movie down the line will end up liking it a lot.

Good for Stallone, deserves top spot. Hey, I've seen that Inception has a 9.0 on IMDB and Ebert rated it 4 stars, is it really that good, because I haven't heard many people speaking of it?
