Wrestling is fake?
Probably like 5 or 7 years ago.

My cousin told me when I was like 4-6, which was like 11 years ago. Although, I thought, If I can watch Movies, I wouldn't mind watchin this. So I have no problem with Wrestling being a work.

I am ashamed of you guys, how can I possibly be the first one to post IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT! Yeah. Also, I always knew it was fixed. When I was a little kid I hated wrestling even though my brother loved it.

I must have caught on fairly soon, because I remember rolling my eyes when other kids would say things like 'Stone Cold would beat [insert_name_here] in a fight', and thinking 'Yeah, but this isn't fighting, it's wrestling.'
Although, they were probably right anyway, he could kick [insert_name_here]'s ass in a fight no doubt.

I was quite a mark when I was younger, but was aware it was a work, ie, the wrestling is all done by trained people. Twasn't until around 07 that I kind of realised that the matches were booked, with the Super Cena era in full force beating off anyone and everyone.

When I was about 10 or 11 I found out exactly how wrestling was pre-determined and planned out. Before that I had more or less come to realise that it was not real, but I still wanted to believe it was.

Around about 2001-2002 (about 9 years old at the time) when i watched Richard Blackwood's documentary on behind the scenes in the WWF.
Here's a link to the video:

I mean I always kinda knew because I had cousins, parents and other relatives that always put it in my head that wrestling was fake. But I still always "believed" when I was a kid. I'd say once I started going on internet message boards is when I started looking at it as a work, and that was probably around 1999/2000

My mom would always point it out. She still does, which is why I can't stand watching it with her. She would see something and then point out (inaccurately, in a smart-ass tone) how it was done...I guess it made her feel smart. Lol I remember she went ballistic when she was the Secrets of Pro Wrestling documentary. She felt so "smart" as if she knew everything all along. I really didn't care though if it was fake, and found it out almost as soon as I started watching...

My girlfriend and her whole family (two sisters, mum, dad and brother) all thought it was completely real until earlier this year.
I realised it was fake about ten years ago but I stopped getting sucked in by the characters / shocked by the on air events about five years ago.

I kind of had it figured out as a kid. I would watch men and women fight each other, hit each other with weapons, kidnap people, and other ridiculous things, which never made sense to me. I knew that if I ran around beating people with a chair, putting someone through a table, and challenging someone to a cage match, I would end up in jail or a psychiatric hospital.
