I was about 7 yrs old, way back in the early 1970s. I watched Mr. Wrestling II drop a knee on a guys head from the second rope. I assumed he had killed the dude. When the guy got up and kept fighting, the little lightbulb went off! That was when I started questioning. My dad was a doctor and he confirmed that no one could endure a blow like that and continue as if nothing had happened. How about you?

I knew it was fake when I started watching it when I was 4 or 5, 18 years ago.

I remember my jerk ass older stepbrother told me it was fake in like 1990. I didn't understand what he meant at first..I thought he meant that the wrestlers were fake...like they weren't real people. That kind of made me scared to watch it for awhile, but the truth eventually settled in and I went back to enjoying one of my favorite artforms not caring if it was a work or not.

A work? What do you mean? You're implying it's fake? You're lying! You lie! WHY MUST YOU LIE!?

When Cena debuted.
Nah I really can't remember, I think it was not long after my cousin introduced me to it, he told me it wasn't real, never really bothered me and I became a huge fan obviously.

From the start. My dad pointed out situations when guys were calling spots or reacting to missed/blown spots. Once you see a few of those, it's impossible (even for a kid) to believe that it's an actual contest.
