They're looking really good man, keep it up. And that helmet would look sick on Mattel's Vader.

You are just too kind man! I'm very glad my photos have inspired somebody on the forum to give it a go themselves!
Since I use a DSLR, my lens is longer than the standard digicam, and I usually tilt my camera into the box for more close up photos.
If your camera has a "text" setting, that's what I used on my old camera before I bought my Canon to help blow out the background. But these are FAR from bad, I'm very glad you're trying your hand at this.
Nice to see pics that don't have details washed out by flash!

instead of creating a new thread, I figure I'll throw these random shots in here too: Series 6 Basic 2-pack Koslov: My ESR can fit inside my light tent but it kind of engulfs the lighting with it's bulk so the background isn't white. Even with 4 daylight bulbs 5500, it's no where close to AdamBomb's brilliant white background.

Man, I WISH I could get a ring in my box! How big is yours? Do you have any reflective domes over your lights? That can help really brighten everything up and direct more light into the tent.
A big advantage I have with my camera is to control variables too. Aperture and shutter speeds can really help me control how the shots are exposed, and setting my own custom white balance REALLY helps.
--But, these shots are STILL fantastic. I honestly wish more people around here would get a cheap tripod, a decent light, and kill using flash altogether... the only other thing that genuinely bugs me are cell phone pictures. If I can barely make out what the image is through blurriness, noise, or a combo of the two - it really doesn't help me view the figure(s).
And flash washes out details HORRIBLY bad 95% of the time. It's sad most people tend to stick to a generic "portrait" setting on their digital cameras, and never really know the full power and capability of what they have.

It's sad most people tend to stick to a generic "portrait" setting on their digital cameras, and never really know the full power and capability of what they have. That's true, I was guilty of that for a long time. Decided to try to operate it manually, no flash, macro zoom, and eventually I'll start messing around with the ISO settings and white balance once I figure out what that all means lol. One thing I've grown to appreciate more is the texture of the plastic that Mattel uses on their figures - up close and personal shots really bring out the details, it almost looks like real skin! I bought a 32x32x32 light tent cheap so the ESR fits in nicely, but I'd need way more light to brighten it up.

Wow! Those are very, very good. You can see the detail in how they painted Kamala's facepaint. I think Mattel should hire you for pictures. Or Adam Bomb.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but I think AdamBomb has that market cornered with his amazing photography if Mattel decides to send freebies his way for review *hint*Mattel Dev Team*hint* Since i only collect Legends figures, I'm dieing to get Series 3 to photograph the hell out of them!!!

Great photos! I am in the process of building my light tent. I picked up a work light w/ clamp and a 100w bulb today. I am primarily using my tent for photographing food. However, here are figure comparison pics using a box lined with white printer paper. Any suggestions on bulbs? Also, I have the ability to tweak the AP and SS setting on my camera which I plan to do after some research. Flash: Work light w/ GE reveal 100w crystal clear bulb:
