amazing figures indeed!!! Love the joe fix-up It's a little more than just a simple fixup, to be quite frank. Not much of the upper body was changed, I just removed the facial hair and facepaint and added the necklace, but the legs have a lot of work put into them. The front of the crotch piece has been shaved away at a little bit, as to allow for more mobility, the legs themselves have been shortened, so the figure itself is a little more in scale with your typical DA style figure, and the shorts and kickpads were sculpted. Give me a little more credit than just a "fix-up", haha. -CMD

Always impresed with your work, CMD. You make people I want to see and pull it off so well. Really neat to see your going over to Mattels and making them look as good as your DA and RA figures. I like the Joe as well, nice work making the figure shorter and attire choice is nice. Love the head's you used on the Mattel figures as well as the rest of the parts used. Good stuff and look forward to you posting more of these soon.

The Kings Of Wrestling figures are awesome! They're just about perfect. I also love the Ultramantis Black. The head you used for Ares would look really good on a Gran Akuma custom.

Always been a huge fan of your work. 9 times out of 10, when I see your stuff posted, I end up wanting to try making the guys myself. I also love some of the daring head choices you make, and the effort you put to really make them work the way you envisioned.
I mean how often do you see anything other than a Haas used for Hero? It's good to see you try and make guys like Punk and JBL (of all people, JBL) work pretty well for what you are trying to make. Your ability to make parts work the way you need them to has always made me envious of your work.
Lastly, if I'm not mistaken you did that Quack, Jigsaw, and Incoherence around the time Mattel figures first came out. I'm absolutely shocked that you still haven't managed to sell those off, considering how great they are.

The Quack figure came from parts from the very first batch of Mattel figures I ever purchased, which were the entire 1st 2-Pack set and a WresteMania Heritage Edge. The Jigsaw is kinda sourced from the second big batch of Mattels I bought, which was a Colons pack and 2 Miz/JoMo packs from series 2. I'm very pleased with how most of my Mattels have turned out, but I haven't managed to sell most of them. Part of that is possibly that, even though I stopped collecting a few years ago, I seem to still be making what I want to make. I'm doing orders, but a lot of figures I make on my own accord, put out there, and maybe someone will buy them off of me. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Lately, it seems more like the latter. The SSBs and Lince were all made within the last week, when I looked through my parts, and found assortments of them would work for those guys. Player Uno, particularly, I wanted to make a figure of since I started making Mattels, and I planned on making one after I got the 2-pack Miz figure, but I tossed it aside and didn't do anything with it. I picked it back up and decided to do Uno again, as I had the upper body to a 2-pack Tommy Dreamer that I hadn't found any use for. The latest UltraMantis, well I made that sometime last month, and I made it because I really like making Mantis figures, and I hadn't made one in the Mattel style yet. That latest figure is the 11th UltraMantis I've made. I've made him in all manner of attires, with typically increasing amounts of tattoos every other figure, and a number of those Mantis figures have been traded to Mantis for old ring gear of his (my other hobby, collecting CHIKARA-related memorabilia). Another factor in them not selling may be just that the demand for these figures is not as great as I estimated. There seems to be slightly more demand for Elite customs, and I am kinda contemplating no longer making Mattel Basic customs, and just permanently switching over to doing Elites. That would mean I kinda wasted a good deal of money investing in the Basic figures, but eh, you live and you learn. -CMD

If they weren't so expensive ( but for the quality, time, effort and art put into them... it's understandable ), I'd buy that Hero AND Generico right now. I just can't see myself spending that much on an action figure.
Either way, it's ALWAYS a treat to see a new post from CMD. As I know it'll be very pleasant on the eyes. My jaw drops more and more each time you show these masterpieces off. Each are just about flawless and true art.
Thanks again, CMD!

wowzers. they are seriously some of the best customs I've ever seen. M2K and yourself are my favourite customizers from years gone by. I echo what Triple S said, if I had cash I'd so totally buy some of them. Can't wait to see more!

M2K has always been one of my favorites, so it's always a pleasure to be mentioned within the same statement as him. Also, I think all the UltraMantis figures I have made is a less than, but right up there with however many Steve Corino figures M2K has made, haha. -CMD
