I'm glad it took me passing on season tickets this year for the Falcons to have a great season. I missed out on playoff tickets this morning too, for the first round anyway.

I hate that Brett Favre has ruined his Legacy by playing again this season.. Such a tragedy.. Honestly, he ruined his legacy a couple of seasons ago.

I don't think he ruined his legacy. In 10 years, everyone will remember the great Favre, not the too old, penis picture texting drama queen at the tail end of his career.
Truth be told MOST quarterbacks play too long, and have very cringe worthy and forgettable endings to their careers.

Truth be told MOST quarterbacks play too long, and have very cringe worthy and forgettable endings to their careers. I can't agree with that. If Favre hung it up a few years ago, he would've walked on water in Green Bay and would've been thought of as a God on earth. Elway is still treated that way in Denver and he retired a decade or so ago. Instead, Favre hung on too long, drug his legacy through the mud, seriously jeopardized his long term health and caused Green Bay fans to hate his guns. He's become a caricature of himself. This is what happens with athletes hang on too long. When you think of Mike Tyson, do you think of the guy who ate other boxers alive or do you think of the guy who literally tried to eat another boxer alive and then ended up knocked out a few years later by some boxer no one had ever heard of and hasn't heard of since. I think the same thing will happen to Favre. People won't remember the guy who was a winner in Green Bay, but they'll remember the guy that we all watched getting the dog **** kicked out of him week after week at the end of his career.

Elway went out on a Superbowl win. Favre would've went out on an interception.
There couldn't be more different endings to their career.

Aikman, Simms, Moon all played way past when they should have, and looked awful at the end. But whe I think of them now, I don't really think of that. When I think of Emmitt Smith, I don't think of the old, tired, broken down back trying to claw his way to the record in Arizona. I remember the back who dominated for years.
10 years from now, when I think of Favre, I'll remember the gutsy QB who went out there and played with tons of emotion and fire, and won a Superbowl, and broke a lot of records. As will most people.

Add to this Favre just manhandling the Bears twice a year when I was growing up. Favre was my favorite player, even if he did play for the Packers, because he was awesome and played football. Unlike the Bears at the time.

Why do people think Emmitt broke the record in Arizona? He clearly broke it in Dallas... I'm not trying to be a jerk, TRW. This is a common thing I hear.

I don't know why I remembered it that way. I guess it was the only reason I could think of that he was still playing. But the fact that he already had the record, kind of proves my point more though, so thanks for the correction.

Man, you guys are talking like its a done deal. Until next season is complete.....I WILL NOT believe we saw the last of Favre. It sounds like it. But he wants more.
Any SB contenders who need a QB next year?

When I think of Michael Jordan I do remember him winning three championships in a row and beating triple teams with ease, but I also remember him in a Wizards uniform getting schooled by guys half his age and with half his talent. When I think of Favre, I will think of the guy who broke the records and won the championship. I'll also think of the guy who got the crap beat out of him week after week at the end of his career and was forced to leave the game.

Any SB contenders who need a QB next year? If McNabb doesn't wind up with them, I could see Favre going to the Cards. They've got the pieces...just need a competant gunslinger to throw Fitzy and Breaston the ball, occasionally handing it off to Wells and Stephens-Howling. If he gets rid of it quickly, he should be fine.

If Favre hangs it up, it's been a hell of a ride, and I've enjoyed every single moment of it myself. I've seen Favre at his best, at his worst, from the highest of highs, to the highest of lows. And through it all, regardless of the conditions on the field and off, to me his number 1 priority has always been winning the game.
And if I wanted someone to lead my team, that's the guy.
I personally see him hanging them up, but if he doesn't, even more Favre for me to enjoy. Beyond that, he'll always be a constant figure in any version of Madden I own now or into the future, which is good enough for me.

I wont believe Favre is gone until he isn't taking snaps by the middle of next season, and even than I wouldn't be a 100% certain.

As have I. It woudln't surprise me, but I don't see us losing at home this year. The Titans have me more worried then anything, but the Raiders have it coming to them. Honestly, if the Chiefs somehow miss out on the playoffs, but plaster the Raiders 72-0 I'll consider the season a success.
