Hey everyone, been spending the past hr or so reading through others' posts and shows...
Here's the simple layout. I absolutely did NOT have the time to do what I originally wanted to. That would be an Animation Fed. When I first came on the board to do that, I had ridiculous amount of free time. I no longer have that. So I moved to a pic fed. I had continued issues with this for some reason and I take full responsibility for that. It was completely human error on my part...
I want to be a creative member of this community (WFigs)...and I feel like maybe a Text Fed is something I can fit into my schedule and gives me the opportunity to be creative with my collecting hobby.
That said, I would love for some overall pointers on what works and what doesn't before I get started. I've read the rules and such but...anything some more established board members have to share would be fantastic. I'll probably spend the next week or so planning everything so...we have some time to talk. Hope to hear back from you. I'll post my plans on here as I come up with them. Thanks again in advance.

Make use of bold and italics and maybe even color if possible.
Because just reading straight type with no pop will get jumbled in together and people won't know where one match ends and another starts.
If you want replies to your shows, reply to other's shows.
Do you have a name or idea of what type of fed you'd like to run?

Thank you for those ideas, I'm a screenwriter so I had a couple ideas as far as spacing and layout to seperate things, but colors and bold and italics are not things I'm used to using, I will remember to make use of those...
I will probably do what I had originally intended and seperate into "two" shows XRF (Xtreme Rasslin' Federation) and HCW (Hoosier Championship Wrestling) (ie. Raw and Smackdown)...and if those go well, I may add a Legends Dark Match brand for peoples' entertainment too. I plan on using WWE talent as that's what I collect (Mattel) and people can visualize those more easily in the story.
I will probably start with a draft special and see how that goes. That way people can be introduced to the roster of both shows, the GMs, the announcers, etc.

I also want to make sure to include plenty of titles and tournaments, specials, PPVs etc. That's one thing I kind of feel is lacking these days is a clear cut hierarchy within shows...you have your main event scene, mid card title scene, newer guys, etc...I want to make sure that type of set up is clearly established in the title scene and in the shows...

Italics can be used for when someone is talking. Bold can be for showing the match. For example. Big John Studd w/ Bobby Heenan vs Andre the Giant And you can center the match listing. And I encourage you to be original when picking GM's. Taking the tired route of a McMahon or Bischoff or Heyman or Teddy Long will not generate enough interest. People will be like "Oh seen that, wonder if they have any other original ideas." I understand I am not one to talk as Bischoff is the owner of my company, but I have a CEO that is original or at least they will be when I announce them on my next show. Could you give me a list of what titles you want to use? I just want to see the number of titles you want your fed to have.

I have what I think are pretty original GMs for the shows picked already...the closest McMahon is to a GM is a backstage interviewer.
As for the titles, I can't remember exactly how I had them split up but I believe XRF had:
World Title U.S. Title
HCW had:
The HCW Title International Title
Unified: Tag Team Womens'
Again, this is just a rough guess, but it's fairly close.

That's fine.
I just didn't want to see one fed/show that had so many belts like:
World title IC Title US title National Tag Titles *Company name* tag titles TV Title Light-heavyweight title Hardcore title Women's title European title
That would be overkill. But I think you have the right amount of titles.

Yeah, I think that's overkill too...
Thanks for all the pointers.

XRF: World Title, U.S. Title HCW: HCW Title, T.V. Title Unified: Tag Titles, Womens' Title
That's what it was.
Cruiserweight and Hardcore were the only other possibilities I may use, but for now I'm keeping it at 6 total.

Sounds good.
Can't wait to see a draft and other ideas.

My biggest advice is, take advice. When someone replies to your show and takes the time to give you advice, pay attention to it and try your best to improve on what is told. I can't tell you how many people I've seen come and go because they just flat out refused to listen

Definitely makes sense, and is unfortuante. Thank you for throwing that out there so early for me.

Contribute to the board. If someone asks for an opinion, try to give them one. If they're a good member like you, they'll help you out later. If someone replies, please reply in a timely manner back. If they just say, "cool show" or something that's not helpful, they probably deserve NOT to get a reply back, though.
Do what Slappy said as far as usage of bold, italics, etc. but remember to get creative. Instead of center, try using left.
Don't write "He did this move" then "He did this." Try spicing up your sentences. Maybe even use a Thesaurus.
Have fun.
Also, Would you sign up a character in my fed? (SCW) I'd love to have more roster members, but have no idea on what to do as far as creating characters.
Any questions, the majority are happy to help via PM or the Chat thread.

Sure, I'd be happy too. Give me a few days until I have everything organized for my fed and get it rolling, just send me a PM in a few days to remind me (I'm extraordinarily busy, things slip my mind easily) But I'd be happy to create a character for it.
Thanks for your help.
