Monday 8th January 2001 - San Jose, CA Live on TNNWe kick off RAW with a replay from SmackDown! as it had came down to three superstars competing for a shot at the WWF Champion, Kurt Angle tonight on RAW: The Undertaker, Rikishi and Kane battled it out as only one could come and face Angle tonight on RAW, The Undertaker successful in the end. But also, Stone Cold Steve Austin would be brutally assaulted in a revenge opportunity for the 'Texas Rattlesnake', the Commissioner brutally attacking Austin with brass knuckles. Kurt Angle was denied the night off to prepare for Monday, instead given Chris Jericho and through interference from The Rock, Angle lost to Y2J. And tonight, Angle has a big task when he faces Undertaker for the WWF Championship! The opening video package for RAW is WAR airs, as we cut to the live San Jose Arena, pyrotechnics going off and Jim Ross and Jerry "King" Lawler introduce us to the show. The theme of the Chairman hits, as the boss had returned tonight, Mr McMahon strutting down to the ring whilst the crowd disapproved, McMahon smiling to see so many people in the crowd booing and chanting 'bunghole'. McMahon says how it's been an awkward week for the World Wrestling Federation, without him around and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and Comissioner William Regal in charge and doing a respectful job, but he's here to address some things. He congratulates The Undertaker on winning his tournament and now facing Kurt Angle for the WWF Championship tonight, and so it will go down to be a match where no interference can take place! The crowd cheers as McMahon continues, also talking about the wreckless behavior of the 'Texas Rattlesnake' Stone Cold Steve Austin, and with the brutal self-defense Regal made this past Thursday night, he's making a rematch tonight in no disqualification rules! The crowd cheered as McMahon was then interrupted by Chris Jericho of all people, Y2J making his way to the rampway. Chris Jericho asks McMahon about how his direction of the World Wrestling Federation is going. McMahon asks what he insinuates as Jericho notes how we have a cowardly WWF Champion, and everybody's on his ass! McMahon asks Jericho for a point as Y2J talks about how he was the one to pin our great champion last Thursday night fair and square, and that his big-nosed daughter chose to ignore it and turn a blind eye! Jericho demands a title shot, when suddenly the theme of The Rock played, the crowd cheering as the 'Great One' asked Jericho who he was trying to be. The attention-seeking baby or the annoying drunk uncle that forgets things. Rock reminds Jericho that he won because of him last week, because if anybody, Rock should be the man to challenge for the WWF Championship, as he never got his one to one rematch. McMahon laughed, telling Rock and Jericho that they both are at each other's throats and he is personally loving this! McMahon says he will think about this tonight, but as of now, Chris Jericho and The Rock will team up to face Edge and Christian in a non-title match! The crowd boos as Jericho and Rock have a staredown. > > > Commercial Break < < < The motorcycle of the 'American Badass' pulled up, and The Undertaker was here tonight to take the WWF Championship from the Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle! Undertaker seemed confident. 1) Right to Censor (Steven Richards, Ivory, Bull Buchanan, The Goodfather and Val) def. The APA (Bradshaw, Jacqueline and Faarooq), Billy Gunn and K-Kwik An action packed start to RAW tonight as the Right to Censor were all grouped up tonight, against superstars that have been targets of the RTC in the past; the APA being victimized for their lifestyle of beer and violence, whereas K-Kwik for his rhymes. Billy Gunn fought for Chyna's sake, and Ivory seemed to go right for Jacqueline in this one. Steven Richards was eventually set up for the Double Powerbomb but while the referee was tied with Val, Ivory lowblowed Bradshaw, the Steven Kick to Bradshaw stealing RTC the victory! The crowd booed as Bull Buchanan nailed Faarooq with a bicycle kick, The Goodfather grabbing Jacqueline as the crowd booed. Val, Steven Richards, Goodfather and Buchanan held her as Ivory yelled in her face, Goodfather setting up for a piledriver! Goodfather went to the top as Buchanan got ready to spike it, the crowd booing before Billy Gunn got in, clothesline to Buchanan! Gunn dropkicked Goodfather as Val nailed a spinning backdrop, RTC leaving with Jacqueline fearing for her life! We go to the backstage area as Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley wandered the backstage corridors, entering her father's office and asking Mr McMahon about who he was with last week, and why it was apparent that his limousine was spotted this Thursday night picking up a certain Trish Stratus. Vince denied it, as Steph asked Vince why he had to hide stuff from her. Kurt Angle entered his office at that moment thanking Vince for the no interference rule tonight, and Vince awkwardly explained that he leant Angle his limousine to take Trish out on a date! Angle smirked as he asked what was going on, Steph laughing obnoxiously, telling Kurt that he was dating a dog. The boss' daughter left as Angle said how he doesn't think his wife will appreciate that. > > > Commercial Break < < < We see Dean Malenko lurking the backstage corridors as he saw Lita, the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion sneaking behind her and asking her if she wanted to catch a cup of coffee or something. Lita asked Malenko if all of the battles between the Hardy Boyz and the Radicalz have taught Malenko anything. Malenko looks gutted, as he vows to take retribution tonight. Michael Cole was shown outside The Rock's locker room door and we will hear from the 'Brahma Bull' soon. 2) Raven def. Crash Holly to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship Another defense by the WWF Hardcore Champion as Raven vowed last week to make the year 2001 the Year of the Raven. But it was not going to be easy against one of the greatest Hardcore Champions since its inception three years ago, Crash Holly. Holly took the action to Raven, the battle growing into the crowd and Holly nailed a missile dropkick from a barricade on a tier, almost taking the win but Steve Blackman of all people pulled him off! Blackman was met by Hardcore Holly and Molly tried stealing the title from Raven but he kicked out! Hardcore and Blackman fought away as Raven soon nailed Crash with a trash can and got the three. The crowd boos as Raven ran away from Molly Holly with a fire extinguisher, the WWF Hardcore Champion with another defense. We cut to Michael Cole with The Rock as Rock was asked about his standing with Chris Jericho. Rock tells Cole that what he did last Thursday night was not in any way shape or form for Chris Jericho, and he feels that Y2J is a Bon Jovi wannabe that feels he should be on top of the world. But it was the 'Great One' who helped him to victory, and the fact of the matter is that Rock is the one who wants the WWF Championship. He breathes it and lives it. And no matter whether it is The Undertaker or Kurt Angle, he will be World Wrestling Federation Champion without a shadow of a doubt. > > > Commercial Break < < < 3) The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) (w/Lita) def. The Radicalz (Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit) (w/Eddie Guerrero, Terri, and Dean Malenko) It was strange too see the WWF Intercontinental Champion not involved in a match of his own, but Dean Malenko is recovering from surgery he had this past week. The Hardy Boyz once again battled with The Radicalz as their feud has been brewing since November, with thanks to Dean Malenko's crush on Lita. Saturn and Benoit worked Jeff as Lita was followed by Malenko at ringside; Terri and Eddie Guerrero trying to hold Malenko back. Malenko then tried pulling on Jeff's leg, but Jeff dropkicked him away, Benoit trying the German but Jeff rolled through a victory roll stealing the win! The crowd cheered as Eddie Guerrero dashed into the ring, running the Hardy Boyz off, Dean Malenko remaining at ringside in fascination with Lita. Chris Benoit looked angry in the ring, the WWF Intercontinental Champion's winning streak in the past having been broken by Jeff Hardy! Edge and Christian were shown in the backstage area, as they met Kurt Angle in his locker room, the WWF Tag Team Champions wishing the WWF Champion luck, then joking about how he wouldn't need it with Trish Stratus! Angle looked confused and said how they've met his wife. They denied it, giggling with laughter. Angle wished they would believe him as the rumor has been spreading. E&C poking fun at Angle all because of Vince McMahon! We see Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he will be in no disqualification action next! > > > Commercial Break < < < 4) Stone Cold Steve Austin def. William Regal in a No-Disqualification non-title match This was a brutal battle as William Regal was armed with brass knuckles as the bell began, Stone Cold just firing into the Comissioner with heavy lefts and rights, the 'Texas Rattlesnake' grabbed the brass knuckles and pounded Regal silly with them, all retribution from last Monday night on RAW but more importantly last Thursday night. Regal low blowed Austin and grabbed the brass, nailing the Regal Cutter just for Austin to get the rope break. Austin soon fought back, and Regal tried fleeing! Austin grabbed him and nailed the Stunner for the win! Stone Cold Steve Austin celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, hot for the 'Texas Rattlesnake' in San Jose! William Regal was a bloody mess on the canvas, the Commissioner shown who's boss tonight! In the backstage area we see Chris Jericho as Jonathan Coachman asks Y2J about his match tonight teamed with The Rock to face Edge and Christian. Y2J acts confidently as he says how he will be reasonable with the so-called 'Great One' as long as he gets what he deserves, the WWF Championship! Trish Stratus was shown, the crowd booing as she was given funny looks by Too Cool and Al Snow, Stratus giving them dirty looks and Stratus bumped into Stephanie McMaon-Helmsley! She laughed evily before walking away, Trish paranoid! > > > Commercial Break < < < Trish Stratus soon arrived in Kurt Angle's locker room, talking about how she's heard of this rumor in the locker room about Angle supposedly dating him. Stratus talks about the WWF Champion being so brash and cocky enough, why does he need her! Stratus goes to slap Angle as she says she'd never do it with him! Angle tells Trish that she needs to talk to Vince McMahon. 5) Test def. Kane by disqualification in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match Test was put up to this match by Trish Stratus as the former member of T&A was put up against the 'Big Red Machine' Kane in what was a hard-hitting bout. Albert obnoxiously watched on at the display as Kane seemed quite dangerous and intimidating in this outing. Kane was furious about having coming so close to the WWF Championship to now having to be placed in the Royal Rumble position. Test soon went for the Pumphandle Slam but Kane overpowered him, and Kane nailed a Chokeslam, but Kane did not stop there, tossing Test over the top rope. Kane grabbed a steel chair and slammed it into the big man's head! Kane stood tall over Test as the crowd booed, Albert smirking. Kane set off his pyrotechnics as the 'Big Red Machine' had intentionally got himself disqualified and eliminated from the Royal Rumble match, but why? Ivory was shown in the backstage area as she was irate about how she was not given the chance to show up Jacqueline. Steven Richards tells her to chill out before Billy Gunn saw the two of them, noting how Chyna was scheduled to return this week on SmackDown! The crowd cheered as Ivory looked intimidated. > > > Commercial Break < < < The Undertaker was shown preparing for the match with Kurt Angle tonight when suddenly Rikishi jumped him, the crowd booing as the 'Bad Man' tossed Undertaker into a wall, tossing many weapons on the 'American Badass'! Rikishi tells Undertaker that he will regret ever messing with the 'Bad Man', because this was just the beginning!? Jonathan Coachman was shown with Rikishi as Coach asks Rikishi about his thoughts on The Undertaker winning last Thursday night and who he thinks will come out of tonight as WWF Champion. The 'Bad Man' stated that he personally didn't care, and that he feels as though The Undertaker doesn't even deserve his attention, he's watched as the World Wrestling Federation elevated him higher and higher to success, and he really just does not deserve as much credit as he does. The crowd booed Rikishi stormed off, unsatisfied. The Rock and Chris Jericho were shown in the backstage locker room, no audio as Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler wondered if they could co-exist. An advertisement aired promoting SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role, the video game now available for the Playstation. 6) Edge and Christian def. The Rock and Chris Jericho in a non-title match A back and forth match here as Edge and Christian fought with The Rock and Chris Jericho, the WWF Tag Team Champions having previously had to defeat The Rock when he was paired with The Undertaker to win their last Tag titles. The charismatic duo matched it up with unlikely allies as The Rock took most of the action, soon letting Y2J come in, the crowd were as loud for both Rock and Jericho. Jericho was soon worked over as Edge and Christian went for the ribs of the Winnipeg loudmouth, Edge slyly trying to cheat to win for his team when Rock made the hot tag, Rock getting into it and whipping Edge off the ropes for a clothesline when Christian blind tagged in! Rock nailed a Rock Bottom on Edge but Christian nailed the Unprettier, stealing victory! The crowd booed as Edge and Christian celebrated their victory, Chris Jericho rolling into the ring and actually attending to the 'Brahma Bull', the WWF Tag Team Champions celebrating like no tomorrow on the ramp. Just as they left, the theme of the Chairman, Mr McMahon hit and he came out, McMahon without a jacket and with ruffled hair, JR noting a lovebite on Vince's neck!? McMahon revealed that he's come to a conclusion, that this Thursday on SmackDown!, The Rock and Chris Jericho will meet with the winner going to face either Kurt Angle or The Undertaker on January 21st at the Royal Rumble! Kurt Angle was shown walking through the backstage area, and he faces The Undertaker for Angle's WWF Championship, it's next! > > > Commercial Break < < < Edge and Christian were in the locker room, both men talking about how they will celebrate when the Dudley Boyz came in, D-Von and Bubba appearing and promising the WWF Tag Team Champions a treat, because in two weeks at the Royal Rumble, E&C will meet the Dudley Boyz! The Dudleyz left, D-Von shoving a table over for effect. 7) Kurt Angle def. The Undertaker to retain the WWF Championship A decisive main event tonight on RAW is WAR as The Undertaker finally got his rematch with the Olympic Gold Medalist, the WWF Championship at stake as Angle fired at 'Taker with all shots, just for 'Taker to throw back some heavy blows of his own. With interference banned, it seemed like Undertaker was indeed in trouble. The Rock and Chris Jericho were shown in different corridors watching the match, keeping note of what will happen and who they might face at the Royal Rumble. Angle nailed two Angle Slams, but 'Taker kicked out of both, the 'American Badass' not blowing this one. Undertaker soon tried to go for Angle but Angle clotheslined the referee, Angle then running from 'Taker. Angle took the title as the two brawled at ringside, Angle nailing Taker twice with the WWF Championship! Angle nailed an Olympic Slam and hooked both legs with the ropes to secure the three! Kurt Angle celebrated his successful title defense as the crowd booed, but the fact of the matter is that he has Chris Jericho and The Rock breathing down his neck, and we will see who will face Angle for the WWF Championship at the Royal Rumble this Thursday on SmackDown! RAW goes off the air.

-LOL at the fans calling him 'bunghole' I liked McMahon's arrogance here, as well as the friction between Jericho and Rock. The tag team match tonight should be cool. -I would imagine it being hard to not make this cluttered. But this was a good match to build RTC. -Raven over Crash Holly was expected to retain the title here since he hadn't won it too long ago. -I agree it was odd not to see Benoit here, but still a nice win for the Hardy Boys here, definitely setting the tone for the tag division. -Looked like a great No DQ match between Regal and Austin. I expected Austin to win due to his recent loss to Rikishi on RAW to get him back on a roll. I like the Regal/Austin feud. -I think 2001 was the Rumble that Kane was very dominant in the Rumble, wonder where he goes now then. -I didn't expect for Rock and Jericho to co-exist the way they did. Big win for Edge & Christian though. -Great main event between Undertaker and Kurt Angle. Angle's reign has been great as of now, hope it continues. I can't wait for Jericho/Rock on SmackDown. -Great show; loving the advancement and hoping this goes for. But none the less, a great show. Keep it up, man. I'm loving this so far.

Raw
Opening segment was good liked the interactions between Jericho/McMahon/Rock. Opening match was fine for what it was. The Steph/Angle interaction was again good, you seem to capture your characters pretty well in these segments. Ddidn't like the Dean Malenko/Lita stuff in real life, don't really like it here, hopefully you can change my mind. Austin/Regal was good, right man won and it sounded like a fun match. Glad Test won the rumble qualifier, good surprise there against Kane. The Kane character you've got going on is interesting and I'll be interested to see where you go now that Kane isn't in the rumble (for now), hopefully this results in a Test push as well. Don't know who I feel about E&C vs Rock and Jericho, glad you had the tag champs go over as they should against an unconventional team, but it doesn't really do a lot for 2 guys who are meant to be challenging for the title, but again it was a nice surprise and nicer to see E&C go over clean. Main event was a good read, I like the little details you put during that match and throughout the show like Undertaker arrives on his bike ready for the show or Rock and Jericho were watching the match backstage, not many people put those little touches and it works. Match made both men come out looking like a million bucks in that it took multiple Olympic Slams to pin The Undertaker and Angle of course won the match.
One thing I don't really like about the layout is the -commercial break- thing you insert at random places. It just seems unneccesary and if it was done for more accuracy and realism then there'd probably be breaks in matches.
Overall though another quality diary from you, you're one of the better bookers and writers on this board, good job.

Thursday 11th January 2001 - Mobile, AL Taped: Tuesday 9th January 2001 Shown on UPNWe kick off SmackDown! with a replay from RAW this past Monday as Kurt Angle met The Undertaker in a match for the WWF Championship with no outside interference instituted. Angle barely came out on top, albeit the referee being down and Angle using his title belt to steal victory. Also, The Rock and Chris Jericho argued over number one contention to the WWF title at the Royal Rumble, Mr McMahon making them team to face Edge and Christian. A competitive non-title match, with the WWF Tag Team Champions winning. McMahon then arrived afterwards revealing Rock facing Y2J tonight for a title shot at the Rumble. The opening SmackDown! video package airs as we go to the Mobile Civic Center, the crowd cheering and Michael Cole and Jerry "King" Lawler introduces us to the show! The theme of Kurt Angle hit as the crowd booed in animosity, the Olympic Gold Medalist grinning with the WWF Championship around his waist, the cocky Pittsburgh Olympian happy to have successfully defended the WWF Championship from The Undertaker this past Monday night. Angle talked about how he was thinking about people he should thank for giving him this position in the World Wrestling Federation, and how he is an amazing man, thanking only Mr McMahon and to a degree The Rock. Angle talked about how he smited the almighty Undertaker this past Monday, but now he's faced with a new roadblock: last Thursday night, he was pinned by a man he's beaten so many times he can't count on his fingers, Chris Jericho in a fluke victory. But also a man he beat to win the WWF Championship at No Mercy, The Rock! The theme of the 'Texas Rattlesnake' would cut him off, Stone Cold Steve Austin storming out to the ring and asking Kurt Angle what he thought made him so great, to allow him some unnecessary talk time when the 'Bionic Redneck' is in the building! The crowd cheered as Angle told Austin nobody wanted him here, which Austin facepalmed and let the fans chant 'Austin' repeatedly. Austin told Angle that he has been champion for four months, but when Stone Cold was champ, you didn't hear him mouthing it out there every night as though he was the new champion. Austin talked more about how Angle failed to present himself as a credible WWF Champion as all he does is hit people with weapons, run and sneak attack! Austin asks Angle how he feels if he were to invite him to a fight tonight. The crowd cheered as Angle looked a bit taken aback, the theme of the Chairman, Mr McMahon hitting. Vince came out to the rampway and said to Austin that nobody was going to interrupt The Rock and Chris Jericho's contender's match tonight, and he's got the right idea for both men tonight. McMahon allows Angle to choose a partner of his choosing to face Austin and a partner of his choosing to meet later tonight. Austin looked intrigued as Angle accepted. We see The Undertaker walking around, and he will be in action with big Rikishi in just a few moments, the 'American Badass' obviously irritated at how he didn't win the WWF Championship last Monday. > > > Commercial Break < < < 1) The Undertaker def. Rikishi by disqualification A hard-hitting bout to kick off SmackDown!, these two's war definitely known to everybody, this all beginning when the 'American Badass' threw the 'Bad Man' twenty-five feet from the top of Hell in a Cell at Armageddon into the back of a pick-up truck, the 'Bad Man' being after Undertaker ever since, but the big dog from Houston was all about retributing his loss on Monday night in the WWF Championship challenge against Kurt Angle. Undertaker had the match won when suddenly Haku of all people arrived, jumping the 'American Badass' from behind!? The crowd booed as Haku and Rikishi double-teamed Undertaker, the audience stunned over the return of this man who had been absent from the company for over ten years, siding with the 'Bad Man'! Suddenly the pyrotechnics of the 'Big Red Machine' hit, but no Kane in sight? The crowd booed Haku and Rikishi left 'Taker unconscious. In the backstage area we see Raven, as he was shown being interviewed by Jonathan Coachman, Coach asking the WWF Hardcore Champion on his current luck as having 2001 as his year. Raven comments how it's been an easy week and a half, but he still has fifty one weeks to go. He says it's going to be worthwhile, Raven then being jumped by TAKA Michinoku and Sho Funaki! Kaientai trying to steal the belt away! Raven was then covered by TAKA but Funaki pulled Michinoku off! Both Kaientai members started brawling as Raven got away! > > > Commercial Break < < < We see Chris Jericho in the backstage area warming up when he changed his cocky facial expression for an intense one, made obvious as the 'Rabid Wolverine' Chris Benoit then appeared, the crowd booing as the WWF Intercontinental Champion reminded Y2J of his previous blunders against Benoit. How he expects to be a potential contender to the WWF Championship astounds him. Benoit laughs, leaving as Y2J looked angry. 2) Test def. Albert This was the true encounter between the former T&A members, but it was confusing as to where Trish Stratus was in this match. Albert was wearing his singlet once again as Test fired at his former partner with heavy blows, the crowd actually getting behind the 6'6 stallion but Albert worked the shoulder and seemed to signal for the Baldo Bomb, Test turning it into a pumphandle slam! Test and Albert then traded blows, Albert walking into a massive Big Boot! Test covered for the win! Test celebrated his victory as the crowd cheered, Albert remaining down and this crowd were really behind the big blonde, Test having finally gotten retribution after T&A's split. We see Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley as she wandered into her father's office, asking Mr McMahon if she'd seen Trish Stratus anywhere. McMahon, startled, said no as he asked why. Steph told her father that she wanted him to make Trish face Lita tonight in a bra and panties match! McMahon grinned, saying yes enthusiastically, McMahon-Helmsley not noticing and leaving. > > > Commercial Break < < < We see the APA in their 'office' as Bradshaw and Faarooq were bringing up the San Francisco Demons cheerleaders and how hot they were, promoting the XFL product. They were then interrupted by Dean Malenko as he asked them if they could provide him protection when he faces Matt Hardy tonight. Bradshaw says it better be good money. The theme of Edge and Christian hit as the crowd booed, the camera angles zooming in and out over the Civic Center, but instead of Edge and Christian we got Bubba Ray Dudley dressed in obscene glasses and a beanie with a see-through black shirt and tights on (a disgusting sight) and D-Von Dudley coloured white in a leather jacket and his camoflauge pants! Both wearing blonde wigs, they impersonated the WWF Tag Team Champions' entrance, D-Von putting on a queer accent and stating how on January 21st those Dudley Boyz were really going to get a queer asskicking courtesy of E&C. Bubba talked with a blatant Canadian accent, throwing in jewels such as 'dude' and 'awesomness' among the mess of terms about how they will be driving those 'Damn Dudleys' through tables. Edge and Christian then interrupted, the crowd booing as Edge talked about how these guys were true dorks, and that they will have a lot to be concerned about when they're in the ring with them on January 21st. Bubba says he disagrees when Christian suddenly brings a table out, Christian tempting the Dudleys to come for a little brawl on the ramp! Bubba and D-Von come out, and the battle is on! The four men trade blows when Bubba tries to sidewalk slam Edge through the table, but Christian chopblocks Bubba, clothesline to D-Von and the WWF Tag Team Champions got away! Nowhere to go at the Royal Rumble! We see Kurt Angle in the backstage area as the WWF Champion was on his way to the ring, meeting with William Regal, and it seems the Olympic Gold Medalist has chosen the Comissioner and WWF European Champion, William Regal to face Stone Cold Steve Austin and a partner of his choosing, next! > > > Commercial Break < < < 3) Stone Cold Steve Austin and Tazz def. Kurt Angle and William Regal Nobody was quite expecting Tazz to be the partner of the 'Texas Rattlesnake' as their paths have never crossed here in the World Wrestling Federation, Kurt Angle and William Regal worked effectively as the Commissioner took advantage of Steve Austin's previous minor injury in their no holds barred match on Monday night during RAW: Austin's ankle being the target. The WWF Champion took up the opportunity and went for it, applying the Ankle Lock when Tazz got the tag (Austin moving around the ring to his corner) and Tazz applied the Tazzmission on the WWF Champion! Regal broke it up, but when Regal got the tag, Austin hit the Stunner and Tazz covered Regal for three! Tazz celebrated his win over the WWF European Champion as Stone Cold Steve Austin celebrated with him, Austin and Tazz standing over the Commissioner whilst Kurt Angle backed up at ringside, the WWF Champion shunned! In the backstage area we see the Right to Censor enter Trish Stratus' locker room, Ivory looking Trish in the face and saying how disrespectful she is to all women alive. Stratus smirks, telling Ivory she'll have fun when Chyna shows up. Stratus goes to leave when Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather block the view. Steven Richards tells Trish she'll stay put until they say so... > > > Commercial Break < < < We see Lita in the ring, the crowd cheering as Lita seemed to be awaiting the arrival of Trish Stratus for their bra and panties match. Suddenly the theme of the Right to Censor hit as the crowd booed, Ivory and Steven Richards coming out, Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather behind. They said Val had Trish guarded, Steven talking about how trampish Lita looks tonight and that nobody wants to see women get naked on television! Ivory says that nudist women make bad role models and Lita should feel bad for trying to make the youth of women like this! They enter the ring with Lita when the Hardy Boyz rush out! Matt and Jeff exchange shots with Buchanan and Goodfather; Richards grabbing Lita! Ivory slapped Lita and Billy Gunn dashed out, the crowd cheering as Gunn saved Lita, the RTC thrown from the ring! Gunn grabbed a microphone talking about how they were all waiting for Chyna, and they'd see her at the Royal Rumble because it has been announced that we will see Chyna face Ivory for the WWF Womens Championship! The crowd cheer, Ivory looking angry: the RTC leaves. 4) Matt Hardy (w/Jeff Hardy and Lita) def. Dean Malenko (w/The APA) It was random as to why Bradshaw and Faarooq were with Dean Malenko when Malenko obviously has Perry Saturn and Eddie Guerrero with The Radicalz in his back pocket, but Matt Hardy still went at it with Malenko, the 'Ice Man' using submissions on the arms of Matt to try and ground him. Malenko kept gloating to Lita at ringside to the disapproval of Lita, as the APA kept an eye on Jeff. Malenko soon found himself missing a diving elbow drop, Matt nailing the Twist of Fate for the win! Matt Hardy celebrated Lita and Jeff joined him, Team Xtreme victorious tonight on SmackDown! The APA soon joined them, but after a brief staredown with the Hardy Boyz, grabbed Malenko and delivered a double powerbomb! The Hardys and APA members grinned to each other. Perry Saturn, Terri and Eddie Guerrero were shown on a backstage monitor watching Dean Malenko in pain, saying how they were going to get retribution on Bradshaw and Faarooq. > > > Commercial Break < < < Lillian Garcia caught up with Rikishi and Haku as Lillian asked Haku on his agenda in the World Wrestling Federation. Haku talked about how it's been a while since he's been here and he sees The Undertaker still here. Haku vows instantly to end this. Rikishi laughs, saying how he recruited Haku and they will light a fire under the 'American Badass's ass! 5) Raven def. K-Kwik to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship This was the opportunity for K-Kwik to achieve his first championship in the World Wrestling Federation after being denied by Road Dogg being released last month. Raven got in so many hard-hitting shots as this bout went around ringside, the WWF Hardcore Champion being watched by Kaientai on the rampway now! K-Kwik almost won with a trash can lid shot for a near fall, Raven soon catching K-Kwik off guard and hitting the Raven Effect onto an electric keyboard for the win! Raven celebrated to boos, TAKA Michinoku and Funaki then running for the ring as Kaientai struck again! Suddenly the Mean Street Posse arrived, Pete Gas and Rodney trading blows with Kaientai! The two rival teams from last year brawled as Raven swiftly ran away. We see Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley in the backstage area as she enters Trish Stratus's dressing room, Steph exchanging looks to Val as Val left, McMahon talking about how Trish has escaped this one, but she will not be escaping on Monday night. She tells Trish that she wants her to show how much of a dog she really is, and so this Monday with no Right to Censor members allowed, Trish will face Jacqueline in another bra and panties match. Stratus giggles, saying it's just because she wants him for herself. McMahon assumes she means Kurt Angle, laughing and denying. An advertisement for the Royal Rumble airs, live on pay-per-view on Sunday 21st January 2001 from New Orleans, Louisiana. > > > Commercial Break < < < William Regal was shown wearing a towel around his neck as the Commissioner was in his office tired, the WWF European Champion talking about how Tazz had showed him up, and he cannot allow it to continue. Kurt Angle came in as Angle told Regal that Tazz is the most obnoxious man he has ever met and he heard someone say he was shooting for Regal's gold, and that's why Stone Cold Steve Austin chose him for this. Regal denied allowing him a title shot when Test came in, asking Regal for a match on Monday. Regal asked who with, and Test demanded with Regal! Angle told Test to slow down a second, Regal agreeing. Regal gave Test Tazz to face on Monday! Test looked intrigued. We see Bradshaw and Faarooq talking to Jacqueline when suddenly Perry Saturn and Eddie Guerrero jumped them from behind! Eddie and Perry of the Radicalz brawled with the APA as Jacqueline and Terri grabbed each others' hair, officials having to break the four men and two divas apart! The Rock was shown with Kevin Kelly as Rock was asked about his main event match with Chris Jericho, Rock mentioning his confusing relationship with Y2J, Rock saying how the 'J' in 'Y2J' standing for 'jackass', for 'jerkoff' and for so many other things! Rock said how Jericho was the man who tried to make a name off of himself by using Rock two years ago when he first arrived, and now he wants to get famous off of Rock's vibe. But never tonight! Rock says he has the opportunity to get the WWF Championship in ten short days, and he will soon star in a movie by that very name: 'How to Become WWF Champion in 10 Days: Kurt Angle's Asskicking!'. We see Chris Jericho, and The Rock will face Jericho with the winner meeting Kurt Angle at Royal Rumble for the WWF Championship, the match is next! > > > Commercial Break < < < 6) The Rock def. Chris Jericho in a number one contenders match Kurt Angle had joined commentary for this match as the Olympic Gold Medalist was questioned numerous things, regarding who would be better to face and saying how both men were extremely egotistical and ignoring the fact he himself had a big ego. Angle also was questioned on his relationship with Trish Stratus, Angle saying he was very closed off to it at the moment. Rock and Y2J's battle was intense, Jericho targeting the ribs of the 'Brahma Bull' but Rock tossed Jericho around with his offense, the crowd split down the middle for this one! Rock soon set up for the Rock Bottom but Jericho rolled Rock up, applying the Walls of Jericho nearly! Chris Benoit then appeared, Angle distracting while Benoit got in the ring and nailed a German suplex on Y2J! Rock delivered a Rock Bottom to the WWF Intercontinental Champion before nailing the Rock Bottom on Y2J, scoring three! The crowd cheered as The Rock celebrated, Rock and Kurt Angle trading blows suddenly, Rock clotheslining the WWF Champion out of the ring! Rock stood tall as SmackDown! went off the air.

-Some solid conflict between Austin and Angle, looking forward to seeing a possible feud between the two. -The Undertaker attacked by Rikishi and then Haku joining forces with Rikishi just makes for a possible tag team feud. -Basically a battle to see who the bigger of the T&A group for this night is, Test going over was the right decision. -Great hype for the big tag match at Royal Rumble, Dudleys imitating E&C. Looking forward this one. -Austin and Tazz over Angle and Regal was most likely very good, with the right call here. -Chyna/Ivory for the Women's Title sounds cool. Expecting Lita to interfere for their promo here. -Wonder where the Radicalz were here, Hardy winning was rather expected since Malenko's real stable weren't there. -Raven over K-Kwik is right here, as again, Raven hadn't won the gold long ago. -The Rock over Chris Jericho is good to give us something new to see in the WWF Title picture. Should be good. -A very good show.

Not a fan of the show starting off with three promos that seemed to be fairly long in length. The guys delivering the promos were fine and all since they are all main eventers or important characters. Just seems like it would drag on. A decent opener that would get people into the show. Not sure how big a deal Haku is coming into the company. It would be interesting to see if you have any long lasting plans for Haku. A good win for Test. I would like to see a decent baby face push for him and a decent heel push for Albert. Enjoyable segment with the tag champs. Hopefully they retain the titles at the Rumble. A good tag match with four guys that would surely put on a good match. Please push Regal into the main event, pretty please? Hopefully the Matt/Malenko match wasn’t the blow off to that feud. Wouldn’t be surprised if it were, though. Raven is just being wasted away in the hardcore division. I hope to see him elevated to a more important role eventually. Not surprised to see the Rock becoming the number one contender. I don’t see him winning the championship at the Royal Rumble though. Would be interesting to see something other than Austin vs. Rock at WM 17. Good, solid show I thought. Really good for Smackdown.

Monday 15th January 2001 - Milwaukee, WI Live on TNNA graphic of Martin Luther King was shown, Vince McMahon remembering him. We kick off RAW tonight with a replay from SmackDown! as it was Chris Jericho and The Rock fighting back and forth in a duel to decide who will be facing Kurt Angle for the WWF Championship at the Royal Rumble, Rock finally winning after outside interference from Chris Benoit, the WWF Intercontinental Champion. The opening video package for RAW is WAR aired, and we go to the live arena in Milwaukee for RAW! Jim Ross and Jerry "King" Lawler introduce us to the show and mention how the Royal Rumble is a mere six days away. 1) Chris Benoit def. Jeff Hardy to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship A good opening contest to RAW is WAR tonight as Jeff Hardy previously pinned Chris Benoit in tag team action last Monday night on the program, the 'Charismatic Enigma' having a big opportunity against a man who has been a fighting champion as of late, the 'Rabid Wolverine'. Benoit went right for the shoulder as the match began, Jeff almost had the win with an inside cradle but Benoit just shot him down and went to work on the challenger. Jeff soon reversed a shoulder block into an armdrag, then nailing a flying clothesline and signalling the Swanton Bomb, when Dean Malenko ran to ringside, Hardy fighting him off before Benoit got him, and nailed a big superplex on Hardy for the win! Chris Benoit celebrated his win as the crowd booed, Matt Hardy soon dashing to ringside to trade fists with Dean Malenko! Perry Saturn and Terri then hit the scene as Saturn and Malenko double-teamed Malenko, Benoit stomping on Matt, Lita at ringside terrified. Terri grabbed Lita by the hair as Lita fought her off, Malenko then grabbing her and throwing her down. The Radicalz having got Team Xtreme defenseless, the crowd booed before Chris Jericho dashed for the ring, steel chair in hand! Y2J slammed the chair into the head of Malenko and Saturn dashed, Benoit and Terri also evacuating the ring! Jericho knelt with Team Xtreme and grabbed a microphone, Jericho talking about how Benoit wants to be a fighting champion, and the Radicalz wants to be scavenger pigeon jackasses, then Y2J proposes Benoit defend his title against Jericho one more time this Sunday at Royal Rumble! The crowd cheer as Benoit gladly accepts. > > > Commercial Break < < <We go to the parking lot as Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley was shown, the crowd booing as she was awaiting the arrival of her father, Vince McMahon. The theme of the Olympic God Medalist played as the crowd booed, the WWF Champion making his way out to the arena and the World Wrestling Federation Champion had a massive smile on his face, Kurt Angle walking down the rampway to boos, setting off his pyrotechnics and getting into the ring. Angle talked about how it's been a rollercoaster of a year, in fact it's been a year since he almost lost hope in his own career. It was January 2000, and the Olympic Gold Medalist was cream of the crop. Undefeated, he was not to be stopped. But his momentum was dashed by an obnoxious newcomer by the name of 'Tazz'. He mocks the name Tazz before saying how he choked him out and killed his streak. One year on, Angle has achieved much more than Tazz has and ever will! The crowd booed before the theme of The Rock boomed into the arena, the crowd cheering as the number one contender told Angle that he needs to sort his priorities out, because while Angle has been a fighting champion, he has not been faced with The Rock not once! Angle says that he was indeed sitting at rinside on Thursday night, watching Rock get his ass kicked until Chris Benoit helped him beat Chris Jericho. Rock tells Angle to stop taking the topic away, because the fact of the matter is that Kurt Angle has ran from Rock ever since he won the WWF title last October. And there is no way in hell that Angle will escape Rock this time! Angle tells Rock that he has an interesting proposition for him then, the 'Brahma Bull' tonight; how about if Rock mixes it up with Rikishi, and Rock can go ahead and give him an opponent. In the interested of fairness! The crowd cheered as Rock said he was interested. Rock chooses Stone Cold?! Angle looks intrigued. An advertisement aired, promoting the Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view this Sunday from New Orleans, Louisiana. > > > Commercial Break < < < We see a replay from last night on Sunday Night Heat, and it showed how Chyna sent in a video tape to hostess Trish Stratus, revealing how she had called out Ivory to a WWF Womens Championship opportunity at Royal Rumble. We return to RAW is WAR as Ivory is stood in the ring with Steven Richards, Ivory talking about how Chyna is too cowardous to actually come to RAW and challenge her. So the rumors go, but she's only telling the truth here. Steven Richards talks about how the Right to Censor are only here to try and make life better, and Chyna tries to make herself seem controversial when a simple thing like having her neck broken occurs! Val mentions how she should avoid facing men then, because it was totally legal. The RTC were then interrupted by the theme of Billy Gunn, and he came to the ring for Val! 2) Billy Gunn def. Val (w/Steven Richards and Ivory) in a Royal Rumble qualifying match Billy Gunn tried his next stage of retribution on the Right to Censor, as he traded blows with Val, Gunn extremely motivated, and excited for his girlfriend Chyna to return to the World Wrestling Federation and hopefully take the WWF Womens Championship from Ivory this Sunday. The winner of this bout was to enter the Rumble, and Gunn got in many hard-hitting blows, though Richards' annoying prescence cost Gunn, Val going for the shoulder of Gunn. Val tried the Money Shot soon but Gunn got his knees up, Gunn nailing the One and Only for the win! Billy Gunn celebrated his win as the Right to Censor slipped out, Steven Richards and Ivory stepping back up the rampway, Gunn pointing at Ivory and screaming how 'Chyna has her ass'! We see Kurt Angle in the locker room as he was then rang on his cell phone, Angle talking to Mr McMahon, Angle noting out loud about how he needs to distract Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. Angle asks why, McMahon stating how he's given Trish Stratus a lift to the arena and he can't let Steph see her. Angle asks what's going on, Vince hanging up. > > > Commercial Break < < < We see Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley facing the parking lot garage as Kurt Angle walks up behind, Angle greeting Steph and the daughter of the boss reacts negatively to the Olympic Gold Medalist. Steph asks Angle what he wants but quickly shoots him down when she assumes it's ducking out of the match with Stone Cold Steve Austin tonight. Angle was then attacked by the 'American Badass' as The Undertaker grabbed the WWF Champion and pinned him against a metal door, threatening him and telling him that this wasn't over between them two, and that 'Taker will get the WWF Championship. McMahon-Helmsley tries to seperate the two as a limousine pulls up in the background, Vince McMahon and Trish Stratus sneaking out and heading into the arena! William Regal's music was playing, and the WWF Commissioner was in the ring talking about how he was intending to be here for Test taking on Tazz, but there has been an interesting development, and as Commissioner of the World Wrestling Federation, he has made Tazz and Test a hardcore match! 3) Tazz def. Test in a hardcore match William Regal stuck around on commentary in this match, as the WWF European Champion and Commissioner downplayed the mischief of Jerry Lawler, Tazz and Test sentenced to fight each other as a way to try and punish Tazz, and Test for Test's recent threat to Regal. The battle got intense as both men spilled out to ringside and the two pounded each other with trash cans, but Test soon delivered a big boot to Tazz holding a stop sign. He covered, but Regal nailed Test with brass knuckles! Tazz covered for the three. William Regal had everybody confused as the WWF European Champion stomped away at Tazz, the winner of this match being thrown out to ringside! The Commissioner applied the Regal Stretch to Tazz at ringside to loud boos, Regal refusing to let go until Test dropped a trash can over the top rope onto the spine of Regal! Test scared the Commissioner off and attended to Tazz. > > > Commercial Break < < < We see Rikishi with Haku, the 'Bad Man' talking to Haku about how he needs to keep his eyes open and make sure that The Undertaker does not try and touch him. Haku said that he refused to allow the 'American Badass' to get a hold of him. Rikishi was wished luck before his match with The Rock. We see Raven in the backstage area as Steve Blackman came from behind, the kendo stick to the back of the WWF Hardcore Champion's skull! Blackman covered but the 'Lethal Weapon' got two! Hardcore Holly came from behind, Holly and Blackman trading blows, Raven escaping! 4) The Rock def. Rikishi (w/Haku) This was a hard-hitting bout, both of these two men having known a lot about each other, especially in recent months as it was Rikishi who accused his cousin, The Rock for running over the 'Texas Rattlesnake', Stone Cold Steve Austin. Rock and Rikishi traded blows as Haku didn't seem to do much at all on the outside area, just lingering whilst Rock laid into the 'Bad Man'. Rikishi got Rock down and worked the ribs, soon preparing for a Banzai Drop, but Rock got out and turned it into a DDT. Rock soon nailed an earth-splattering clothesline moving Rikishi off of his feet and Rock spinebustered him, nailing the People's Elbow for the win! The Rock celebrated his win before Haku suddenly hit the ring, the crowd booing as Haku grabbed him and applied the Tonga Death Grip! The crowd booed as The Undertaker then came through the crowd, big boot to Haku! The 'American Badass' and the 'Brahma Bull' traded blows with Rikishi and Haku before Kane's pyrotechnics hit, and the crowd roared for the 'Big Red Machine'! Kane hit the ring as he took out Haku and Rikishi, then delivered a Chokeslam to his brother, The Undertaker! Kane stood tall in the ring as this time for the Brothers of Destruction to reform was teased! In the backstage corridor we see Trish Stratus was on her way through the arena, on her way to the bra and panties match when she awkwardly met Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, McMahon-Helmsley saying she hoped she lost tonight. And her dignity! Stratus looked a bit scared, Stratus against Jacqueline in bra and panties, next! > > > Commercial Break < < < We see Vince McMahon talking to Kurt Angle about something in the Gorilla position, the Chairman seemingly having the WWF Champion on his lead!? 5) Jacqueline def. Trish Stratus in a Bra and Panties match Jacqueline and Trish Stratus seemed to dislike each other, and Jacqueline just went at Trish, the blonde being cheered a little but Jackie just kicked the ass of the beautiful Canadian girl. The announcers wondered what was going on with Trish and Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler covering up and referring to Trish and Kurt Angle. Both women ended up down to their bras, when Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley came onto the rampway, Trish distracted and Jacqueline stripped her pants off! Jacqueline celebrated her win as Trish Stratus looked humiliated, and Kurt Angle of all people ran out, awkwardly it seemed like! Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley looked shocked as the WWF Champion got into the ring and stripped Jacqueline of her pants! Angle shoved Jacqueline over before covering Trish up, the crowd laughing at this humiliation. The APA then ran for the ring as Angle and Stratus scattered to ringside, Bradshaw and Faarooq shielding Jackie up. We see The Rock with Michael Cole in the backstage area when suddenly Rock was cut off by Stone Cold Steve Austin! The crowd roared as Rock asked what he wanted, Austin smirking and saying thanks for the opportunity tonight. The 'Brahma Bull' glared at him, both of these two greats looking at each other in tension. Rock told Austin that he knows what he wants, and a battle between the two would blow all past experiences out of the water. Steve agrees, the 'Texas Rattlesnake' asking for luck against Kurt Angle tonight. > > > Commercial Break < < < 6) Matt Hardy and Lita def. Perry Saturn and Terri Mixed tag team action to follow up from earlier, and Perry Saturn and Matt Hardy really went at it with one another, Hardy and Saturn with a score to settle after the Radicalz attacked the Hardy Boyz and Lita earlier tonight. Hardy seemed a little damaged after the previous attack, and these two would be in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday. Lita got the tag and Terri tried dashing in, Lita just clotheslining Terri many times, Saturn taken out by Hardy: Lita with a Twist of Fate for the win. The crowd cheered as Matt Hardy joined Lita in the ring, the crowd cheering as Team Xtreme were victorious tonight on RAW! Perry Saturn and Terri left as Dean Malenko was nowhere to be seen. We see Kevin Kelly interviewing the Dudley Boyz about their upcoming WWF Tag Team Championships match with Edge and Christian this Sunday at the Royal Rumble, when suddenly the champs attacked them with steel chairs! Edge and Christian assaulted D-Von and Bubba Ray before a double suplex put D-Von through the table! Edge and Christian invited the two to a good old fashioned tables match, just to blow the Hardys vs the Dudleys bout out of the water! The champs had left the challenge! > > > Commercial Break < < < Raven was shown wandering out to the parking lot when Essa Rios suddenly dived off of a car, Rios hooking the leg for a near fall! Raven full of challenges, he clocked Rios with the WWF Hardcore Championship before dashing off, getting away again! Going to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, J.R. and the King run down the card for this Sunday's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, scheduled to feature a thirty-man Royal Rumble match with the winner going to face the WWF Champion at WrestleMania XVII! (the number thirty slot was revealed to be determined this Thursday on SmackDown!); Kurt Angle vs The Rock for the WWF Championship; Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho for the WWF Intercontinental Championship; Ivory vs Chyna for the WWF Womens Championship; And Edge and Christian vs the Dudley Boyz in a tag team tables match for the WWF Tag Team Championships. All on pay-per-view this Sunday! 7) Stone Cold Steve Austin def. Kurt Angle by disqualification in a non-title match A heated main event for what it was, as The Rock was definitely going to be watching, the Olympic Gold Medalist after running through different obstacles throughout the night had to face the 'Texas Rattlesnake', but you had to believe Stone Cold had wanted this to be for the WWF Championship. Austin announced for the Royal Rumble match this Sunday, you had to believe he was up for the number thirty spot this Thursday on SmackDown! Angle got in many cheap shots, sliding out of Austin's attempts at a Stunner, Angle then being laid out with the Stunner! Austin went to cover but Vince McMahon dashed to ringside and pulled Earl Hebner out, laying the official out! Stone Cold Steve Austin looked annoyed as he chased Vince McMahon up the rampway, the chase back on between those two! Kurt Angle sat up in the ring, a bit out of breath when the theme of The Rock hit! The crowd cheered as the 'Brahma Bull' dashed to the ring, trading blows with Angle! The WWF Champion shoved Rock away and dived out of the ring, Rock standing tall yet again! RAW came to a close.

A good way to open up the evening with an Intercontinental Championship defense. Glad Benoit retained, and the aftermath to this one was the perfect set up for this Sunday. Way I see it, Jericho has back up now in the Hardys in case the Radicalz decide to turn up, and fingers crossed the match stays fair because of it! Good promo to follow it up, the crowd would definitely be eating this up, with Rock coming out and mixing it up on the mic with Kurt Angle. Rock vs. Rikishi should be great considering the two's recent history, and Angle vs Stone Cold should be a fantastic match, and one that should main event tonight. Good kind of cool down for the crowd before the first hour main event, which I think will be Rikishi vs Rock, and I'm glad Billy went over, as I think it was the best move really, RTC in the Rumble wouldn't be that exciting to me. This whole thing with Trish and Steph is interesting, but I'm wondering where Triple H is in all this? From what I know of IRL, Angle faced Triple H at this event, and I haven't seen any mention of Triple H yet in this show, which is odd. Would like to have that explained. Taker gripping up Angle and telling him to watch his back is awesome, and I really really hope he has a good showing in the Rumble, and maybe even wins, though I'm sure it'll be Stone Cold who takes that honour. Not sure about this match, considering Test has just turned face last week on SD!, but the finish was well booked with Regal getting involved. Do like that he got scared off by Test, would prefer to see him facing Regal for the European title over Tazz, who I feel could be used in a higher place on the card as his career winds down. Like a bit of hardcore filler there, was good to see, glad Raven escaped. Rock over Rikishi clean? Wasn't expecting that really. Like Haku getting involved after, and Taker, Rock, and later Kane having it out with the two Samoans. Like that Kane chokeslammed Taker again, displaying his dominance, and is a good way of building him as a potential winner in the Rumble. I hope with Kane you let him do as well as he did IRL in the match. Jacqueline over Trish, hmm, not sure if Trish could've done with the win here tbh. Do like that Angle and the APA came out to cover up the ladies, that was a nice touch. Tease for a potential Mania main event there, Rock vs. Austin would definitely sell. Good continuation with Team Xtreme defeating Saturn and Terri. Hope what I thought earlier comes to fruition at the Rumble. Look forward to seeing if E&C can go over against the Dudleys at RR, unlike in reality, and set up a potential rematch heading into Mania, maybe even incorporating the Hardys somewhere along the line. Essa Rios, lol, glad he didn't take the Hardcore Title from Raven. Solid close to the night with Austin Angle ending in a DQ thanks to McMahon, and Rock managing to stand tall to end the night. Solid show overall here man, enjoyed reading it. Hope SmackDown! delivers as much as this did!

There's not much criticism I can make because you are booking this really well. I can see some build for Austin/Rock, which needs to happen. Also, I think Chyna/Ivory would be better saved for WrestleMania, just my personal opinion. This is a great time for certain stars to break through to the main event, such as Benoit, Jericho, Rikishi, Tazz. I hope you follow with this.

Thursday 18th January 2001 - Chicago, IL Taped: Tuesday 16th January 2001 Shown on UPNA replay from RAW aired, as we go back to Monday night where Kurt Angle came out to brag about how he was WWF Champion and overcoming all, then being interrupted by The Rock, the two men to meet for the WWF Championship this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Angle set up a proposition, for Rikishi to face Rock and Angle to meet Stone Cold Steve Austin: Rock was able to beat Rikishi with help from The Undertaker against Rikishi and Haku, but Angle soon got himself disqualified, Vince McMahon taking out the official. Austin chased McMahon away and Angle was met by Rock, Rock clearing house again! The opening video package for SmackDown! aired as Michael Cole and Jerry "King" Lawler introduced us to the show, just three days away from the Royal Rumble event! The theme of Mr McMahon hit as the crowd booed, to kick off the night. The Chairman of the World Wrestling Federation made his way to the ring and began to talk about how times have changed since the days where Stone Cold Steve Austin would just casually and neverendingly chase Vince McMahon and fight the boss' authority. But what we saw on Monday night was not a rightful challenge. It was made by The Rock in an attempt to jeopardise the Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle's chances at retaining the WWF Championship. McMahon said that Stone Cold did not deserve that match, and it has been stricken from the record as of right now. McMahon got serious heat as he continued, talking about how Austin will however be in a four-way match tonight, with the only method of victory being for only one man remaining with elimination via the top rope. McMahon revealed that Kane, The Undertaker and Rikishi will also be involved in the match, and the winner will grab the number thirty position in the Royal Rumble match! Vince continued as Stephanie's voice was then heard, McMahon-Helmsley appearing on the rampway and requesting for a change to be made. The boss' daughter requested that Kurt Angle be in action tonight in mixed tag team action. Why? Because she wants to see Angle's girlfriend work in the ring for a change, instead of showing her body to the WWF fans! Vince says that he hasn't a problem, but their opponents will be the Holly Cousins. McMahon-Helmsley says this is fine, Steph questioning again on the situation with Vince and Trish, and why that rumor is still around! Vince tells Steph that Trish and him are just colleagues. Vince would never let...Angle and Stratus' relationship be harmed. Steph accepts, Kurt Angle's theme then playing! Angle made his way out to the rampway as well, looking at Vince and nodding, then asking Steph why he picks on his girlfriend! Angle then says that she should respect her father, Vince McMahon for the great thing he did last Monday night on RAW. McMahon-Helmsley confesses, Angle then requesting that if he has a match, if The Rock could also have someone to face. With that, McMahon made the main event, The Rock going up against the WWF Intercontinental Champion, Chris Benoit! The crowd popped as Angle seemed happy. Biasedness perhaps? We see the Hardy Boyz with Lita on their way to the ring, and they will go up against Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko and Terri next! > > > Commercial Break < < < 1) The Radicalz (Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn and Terri) def. Team Xtreme (The Hardy Boyz and Lita) This was another match that wrapped together this entirely secluded situation involving the Radicalz and the Hardy Boyz. Once again there was no appearance from Eddie Guerrero, apparently sent home from the show. Terri and Lita's action was incredibly limited as Lita got in her Litacanrana many times on Dean Malenko, and Malenko seemed to like it. Saturn and Matt traded many blows and Saturn seemed to be setting up for the fisherman suplex when Jeff took him out. With all the action spilling out of hand Lita got the blind tag, and ran in to jump at Terri just for Dean Malenko to grab her and lock in the Texas Cloverleaf; Lita tapped quickly! The crowd booed as Lita was down clutching her knee, Dean Malenko helping Terri up and the two left the ring before Matt and Jeff could get in the ring. The Radicalz celebrated on the rampway, the Hardy Boyz attending to Lita. In the backstage area we see Ivory smirking at the monitor of Lita wriving in pain holding her knee, saying how she could have had potential, but remained looking like THAT. Steven Richards interrupted Ivory, as he asked her if there was anything he could do tonight that will make Sunday better. Ivory said that there's almost nothing that can be done, but she does want Steven Richards around when Sunday night comes if Chyna manhandles her. Richards comforts his co-worker. Stone Cold Steve Austin was shown in the parking lot pouncing back and forth, we will hear from the 'Texas Rattlesnake' next! > > > Commercial Break < < < Stone Cold Steve Austin was with Jonathan Coachman as the Coach asked Austin about his thoughts on what Mr McMahon did to him on Monday. Austin says how Vince wants to suddenly stick his nose where it doesn't belong and get up in Austin's face? Austin says that the regret Vincent Kennedy McMahon made is that he allowed Stone Cold entry to the Royal Rumble match. He has the opportunity thanks to McMahon to tonight become number thirty in the Royal Rumble! He mentions how he was number one in the Rumble match two years ago, and screwed over, and if McMahon plans it again then hell be it! Austin says how he has 2001 filed out, and he will leave Rumble as the winner. 2) Bubba Ray Dudley (w/D-Von Dudley) def. Christian (w/Edge) The brain cells of Bubba Ray had to be a little dazzled after the assault by Edge and Christian on the Dudley Boyz this past Monday night, these two teams meeting for the WWF Tag Team Championships in a table match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Bubba Ray tossed Christian around like a ragged doll and set up for the finishing Bubba Bomb when Edge got into the ring and grabbed Christian's foot pulling him back to Earth. Bubba clotheslined Edge and Christian springboarded to the middle turnbuckle and nailed an impactful tornado DDT for the win! Christian celebrated the win as the crowd booed, D-Von having set up a table, clotheslining Christian down! Edge was given the Bubba Bomb as Bubba Ray recovered, the Dudleys then grabbing the table and setting up but Christian dragged Edge out of the ring! The WWF Tag Team Champions made another getaway tonight, but the Royal Rumble will be different! In the backstage area we see Vince McMahon talking to Billy Gunn in his office as Gunn tells the Chairman how he's excited for Chyna's return. McMahon tells Gunn that he's in a good mood and so he's deciding to be generous. And so tonight, Billy will take on Tazz! And if Gunn manages to beat Tazz, then Chyna's match at the Royal Rumble against Ivory will go without Right to Censor being allowed at ringside. Gunn seems cheerful, but is in actual fact another ploy to the vendetta of the McMahon-Helmsley Alliance against Tazz. Kurt Angle then talking about how his wife is seriously giving him problems at home, their family is almost torn because of this Trish and him relationship rumor. McMahon tells Angle not to worry because he will reveal the truth soon, he just needs to keep it up and avoid letting Steph know the truth, and Angle will find himself a nice pay rise. Angle smirked, leaving happy. > > > Commercial Break < < < 3) Chris Jericho def. D-Lo Brown (w/Chaz and Tiger Ali Singh) Chris Jericho went up against a former WWF Intercontinental Champion tonight, as D-Lo Brown was accompanied by Chaz and Tiger Ali Singh, Lo Down seemingly with the advantage. Y2J took down Chaz and Tiger Ali Singh, Jericho and D-Lo trading offense throughout the match. Brown went for the wrist of Y2J, the number one contender to Chris Benoit's WWF Intercontinental Championship managing to show all the features of an experienced champion. Chaz soon tried to distracted the official but Y2J used it to low blow Chaz and apply the Walls of Jericho, D-Lo tapping! Chris Jericho celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, Chaz then grabbing Y2J and Tiger Ali Singh yelled at him, Jericho dropkicking Chaz and grabbing Singh! Jericho tried the Walls of Jericho but D-Lo and Chaz made the save. Y2J seemed incredibly motivated for his battle with Chris Benoit this Sunday. In the backstage area we see The Undertaker with Kevin Kelly, as Kelly asks the 'American Badass' about this pending relationship between him and his brother Kane. Undertaker talks about how he has had a mixed relationship, and well-documented. He hates his brother, but he respects him. As a unit they are indestructable, hence the Brothers of Destruction name. But tonight as far as he's concerned, it's every man for himself. And 'Taker wants the thirty spot in the Rumble. 'Taker rides away on his motorcycle, the four-man battle royal up next! > > > Commercial Break < < < William Regal was in his office as the crowd booed, Regal interrupted by Test. Test talked about how the Commissioner was a cowardly WWF European Champion and that he really should consider letting Test have a title opportunity, because he is all talk and no go. Regal smirked, saying about how Test was undeserving of the title opportunity! Regal told Test to stand in line with the rest of 'upcoming superstars that have nothing that proves them as champions. Regal invites Test to tune into Sunday Night Heat and watch as he defends the European title like a true stallion against Crash Holly. Test barges out. 4) The Undertaker def. Rikishi, Kane and Stone Cold Steve Austin in a four-man battle royal to win the number 30 entry in the Royal Rumble match This match could have gone either way as Kane and The Undertaker definitely went straight for the 'Bad Man', Rikishi, the Brothers of Destruction then disintergrating. The 'Texas Rattlesnake' went for anybody and everybody, as Austin fired right at Kane and The Undertaker, then trying to get Rikishi out and succeeding on getting him to the apron. Haku then ran to the ring, Haku getting taken out by Austin! Kane delivered a Chokeslam to Haku as Rikishi got big booted off the apron by 'Taker! Austin tried to get 'Taker out but Kane and Undertaker teamed up and Austin went overboard! Kane turned his head to Austin as he tried to grab him out as well, 'Taker clotheslining Kane over for the win! The Undertaker celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, Kane looking angry but trading blows with the 'Texas Rattlesnake', Stone Cold Steve Austin at ringside. But the fact of the matter was that the 'American Badass' was going to have the best advantage going into the Royal Rumble match! Chris Benoit was shown with Kevin Kelly as the WWF Intercontinental Champion was asked about his current standing position against Chris Jericho. Benoit noted the times of which he has beaten the arrogant loudmouth: WrestleMania 2000, Judgment Day 2000 and SummerSlam 2000: he's going for 4-0 this Sunday. When asked about his relationship with the Radicalz, Benoit ignores and walks away! > > > Commercial Break < < < 5) Kurt Angle and Trish Stratus def. Crash Holly and Molly Holly This wasn't a bad contest as the Olympic Gold Medalist took the action to Crash Holly, the former WWF European Champion flying around the ring and matwrestling with the WWF Champion. Angle then took Crash to work, Crash getting the hot tag to Molly Holly and Molly took down Trish Stratus many times! Stratus soon gained momentum with a drop toe hold, Stratus applying the ankle lock but Molly flicked her off. Molly soon went up for the Molly-Go-Round, but Angle shoved her off! Stratus nailed a running bulldog for the win. The crowd booed as Crash Holly attended to his cousin, Molly. Kurt Angle celebrated with Trish Stratus awkwardly without too much cuddling. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley watched on from her office as she looked at disgust, noticing the lack of enthusiasm on the 'couple's faces. An advertisement aired, promoting the Royal Rumble; live on pay-per-view this Sunday from New Orleans, Louisiana. We see the APA in the locker room talking about the chances that Bradshaw and Faarooq end up having to face one another. Faarooq says that he wants to win this and not necessarily go into business for himself, but to increase the Acolyte Protection Agency's chances of financial success. Bradshaw agrees when Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather enter their APA office, Val laughing about how the two drunks think they can win the Rumble match. Bradshaw stood up and got in Val's face, The APA then getting attacked by the Right to Censor trio! Ivory stood in the background with Steven Richards as Bradshaw was tossed through his own door and Faarooq was spinebustered onto his table! Another altercation with the APA and the RTC! > > > Commercial Break < < < 6) Billy Gunn def. Tazz Interesting scenario here as Billy Gunn seemed sort of awkward facing Tazz, the crowd appreciating both men equally. Tazz tried to choke Gunn out as the match began but Gunn managed to get in some hard shots. Both of these men scheduled to be in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday, Gunn was fighting for the right to ban the Right to Censor from the WWF Womens Championship match this Sunday involving his girlfriend, Chyna. Tazz soon applied the Tazzmission, but William Regal came to ringside, Tazz distracted. Gunn caught a distracted 'Human Suplex Machine' with the One and Only for the win. Billy Gunn celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, but William Regal wasn't finished, Tazz being pounded on repeatedly by the WWF Commissioner. Regal went to apply the Regal Stretch when Billy Gunn ran into the ring and dropped an elbow on the WWF European Champion! Gunn tried to follow up but Regal dashed, and Test appeared on the rampway behind Regal! The Commissioner left through the crowd, so much competition to the WWF European Championship here in the World Wrestling Federation! In the backstage area, Lillian Garcia is standing by with The Rock, the 'Brahma Bull' hyped as the crowd went crazy, Rock beginning to talk about how this Sunday will be the time for change. He talks about Kurt Angle and his chinless face being in trouble with the authority, in other words, the World Wrestling Federation's personal bitch, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley! Rock said about how tonight he's been told to face Chris Benoit, and while he's the most legitimate athlete the WWF has ever known, but he's the most boring wrestler he'll ever have the interest of facing! Rock mentions how Benoit's ego is so large because of him almost taking the WWF Championship TWICE...well the 'Great One' took it away both times, and tonight the WWF Intercontinental Championship will be the 'ultimate hasbeen' belt! > > > Commercial Break < < < An advertisement aired, promoting the XFL, the 2001 season beginning on February 3rd 2001! 7) Chris Benoit def. The Rock in a non-title match A hard-hitting main event with these two as The Rock and Chris Benoit definitely know each other after competing at Fully Loaded, an event where Benoit almost took the WWF Championship from the waist of Rock (though with help from Shane McMahon). Benoit went right for the arms of Rock, preparing to go for the Crossface later in the match. Rock just fired at Benoit though, using his good arm to show why he is the number one contender to the World Wrestling Federation's top title. Benoit soon tried the Crossface as the crowd booed, Rock almost escaping but Kurt Angle appeared at ringside, the WWF Champion distracting Rock! He taunted Rock, a smirk on his face, the Olympic Gold Medalist watching Rock firmly in the eye, Rock then tapping out! The crowd booed as Chris Benoit got up, the 'Rabid Wolverine' having defeated the number one contender to the WWF Championship tonight, however he turned around to get Chris Jericho nailing Benoit with the WWF Intercontinental Championship! The Rock was stomped away at by the WWF Champion, Kurt Angle before Stone Cold Steve Austin dashed to ringside, Austin firing lefts and rights at the Olympic Gold Medalist! Rikishi and Haku entered the battle, double-teaming Y2J in the ring; The Undertaker arriving and trading blows with Rikishi before Haku got to him! All chaos as Kane's pyrotechnics went off, and the 'Big Red Machine' ran to the ring, helping his brother The Undertaker! Kane and Undertaker, reunited nailed stereo-Chokeslams to Rikishi and Haku as the Brothers of Destruction overlooked all of the chaos and laid out bodies, the Royal Rumble three days away! SmackDown! goes off the air.

Solid opening segment. I could really picture it all in my head because you captured each character really well. The Radicalz winning is fine, liking Malenko enjoying being hit with a Hurricanrana from Lita. You've listed Bubba as the winner, but described it as Christian winning. I knew a Springboard Tornado DDT was too unrealistic for Bubba Dudley to pull off.. Standard win for Jericho. His match with Benoit should be good. Like the idea of a battle royal to determine who will get the #30 spot, although Undertaker will be #30, I just can't see him winning. Kurt and Stratus were obviously going to win that one. I liked Regal being cornered by all the competition for the European Championship. Wouldn't half-mind seeing Test win the title from Regal, although I have a feeling you'll be giving the strap to Gunn. Solid main event and the chaaos that happened afterwards. I LOVE the pairing of Rikishi and Haku! This is good stuff and deserves more replies, but I feel like one of the reasons it doesn't get so many replies is because the amount of detail you put in. It's too much, in my opinion, and that's one of the reasons I don't tend to leave a reply.

-A good opening promo with the #30 spot opening some anticipation. Rock/Benoit should be great. -The Radicalz over Team Extreme is fine. Lita tapping gives their team no shame then. -Bubba Ray lost this one but you have him noted a winner here. Good call for Christian to win though. -I love Jericho getting pushed anytime. Him winning over D'Lo was definitely expected. -The Undertaker winning the #30 spot is good. I think I see him winning now. -Kurt Angle and Trish winning was obvious here. -Gunn over Tazz shocks me a bit. Gunn looks to be in the run for the championship. -Benoit winning is great in the main event. I like all the stuff involved in this one. The win made him look more promising and hyped the main feud into RR. -Good show; nothing much to say, but keep it up again.
