Going into my draft this year, my plan was to take Aaron Rodgers regardless of what number I had in the first round. I pulled #12, and he went at #9, completely changing my strategy. So I took Peyton Manning instead. Today, I was offered Rodgers for Manning straight up.
I never thought I'd question trading for Rodgers, but how can you trade Manning after he threw for over 400 yds. last week? I also have Reggie Wayne, my second round pick. I always love to have the QB-WR combos cause when they both go off, you usually win that week. I love Rodgers and I know either way I go, I'll be set at QB, but what would you do?

I think I would actually make the trade for Rodgers, but ur good to go either way. The one thing that sucks about Manning is him almost always being sat the final weeks of the season (FANTASY PLAYOFFS); so it would be nice not to have to deal with that headache. Of course, Rodgers is my favorite player in the NFL (yes I know I'm a Bears fan), so maybe I'm a little biased.

He's honestly my favorite NFL player too and you make a good point about Manning being benched. I was thinking dome vs. Lambeau in the latter part of the year, but if Peyton sits, it won't matter.

I'd stay with Manning. There isn't a more consistent QB in fantasy football. Plus it looks like the Colts defense has problems, which means he will be throwing even more. And, it also looks like the Colts will be fighting for the playoffs this year possibly, so it means he will likely be playing during your playoffs.

I would make the trade. Having a QB and WR on the same team is nice, but Manning throws to everyone and there are weeks Wayne will not get any. You also have to deal with both being off during the same bye week. Yes, it is only one week, but do you have enough firepower at both positions to offset both being off?

It really depends on what you need.
As TRW said, Peyton Manning is the most consistent fantasy football player, perhaps of all-time... But Aaron Rodgers' ceiling from week-to-week is usually a bit higher. He just tends to be a bit more of a roller-coaster, up-and-down.
If your team is full of roller-coaster players like DeSean Jackson and such, then I'd suggest sticking with Manning to kind of balance that out. On the contrary, if you have a lot of "safe" players like Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Roddy White, etc. -- you could probably justify going with Aaron Rodgers to complement them.
