After reading the SI.com report, he apparently alerted those giving the test that he had taken something, but never specified a medical reason, which is required.
So he flat out admitted prior to the bout that he had taken PEDs.

"It is our policy not to comment on pending actions by the Athletic Commission. Chael is consulting with his legal advisers and physicians and will have a statement in the near future. Chael will file an appeal with the CSAC and looks forward to working with the Commission to resolve this matter."

Of course he tested positive, he's CHAEL ing SONNEN. He's way to manly for the CSAC and the rest of thee world.

Damn, absolutely no chance of a Silva/Sonnen rematch happening ever if Silva retires for good.

Sonnen is now suspended for one year. Wow...I can't believe it. A year is a long damn time...I only wish WWE's drug testing was as strict as this. If it was, there would be ALOT of guys off television, that's for sure. I feel bad for Chael, but he brought this upon himself. He's got no one else to blame but himself. It would've sucked SO much worse had he defeated Silva because he would've been stripped of the belt. If that would've been the case, would the belt just go back to Silva or would it be vacated and have a fight to determine the Undisputed champ??

I wouldn't want to have to fight to win back a title that I didn't rightfully lose. Even though I'm sure Silva would've beaten whomever he needed to do so.
