Every time I look at this I say damn Toys R Us was so much cooler back then. Just the feeling when you walked in there was like heaven.
If I could go back in time I'd probably buy the whole display and make the huge investment.
Look at all those pillow buddies.

Haha. Great memories. Toys R Us was the holy grail for us as kids. I remember once walking there during the summer holidays because my friend had 20 quid and he bought two football figures and I got the Smash Hasbro. Happy days

Unfortunately, as Cracked has pointed out, your money and credit cards would be useless in the past. They would look at you like you were from another planet if you tried to pay with today's currency and your credit cards wouldn't be valid yet. Sorry guys, you wouldn't even be able to purchase a stick of gum.

Sorry guys, you wouldn't even be able to purchase a stick of gum. Although it wouldn't be as hard to get cash from before the mid '90s as it would to get it from, say, 1885 like BTTF 3. I've always said that if I had a time machine, the very first place I would go would be to Toys R Us in 1989.

if you're going back in the past, you'd be smart enough to stock up on valid cash. Find a couple of hundreds, a handful of 50s, and a bunch of 20s and you're good to go. 20 year old bills aren't THAT hard to find, especially if you're looking for them

My local TRU never looked like that but I did have another toy store that looked similar to that display featured in the video.

If you could travel back in time I'd just go and get the numbers for a massive lottery win the night before the draw...and then buy Hasbros....! I'd be like Biff in alternate 1985 in BTTF2 with 'Hasbro Towers'...

Where's Doc and Marty when you need them..I would love to go back in time and pick up a lot of figs and hot wheels too....Kenner Super Powers,MOTU,TMNT,the LJN's,bendies and thumbwrestlers too..Then hurry back to 2010 and say "look! i got these all MOC!"Maybe even go back to the 70's and pick up some MEGO figs too..Maybe rob a bank in 1985 then jump in the Delorean...

If you had a time machine you'd have no problem with money... You'd be surprised. I once had a time machine.
