Raven coming in with such a push is unrealistic, but I am a mark for Raven so I like it. Kane winning the title is fine for me, nothing special either way. Austin back is good and I hope you do something special with Angle and Hunter.

Interesting time to start as the latter of 2000 was definitely the weaker; but I'm interested, especially with Kane as WWF Champion, unfortunately I fail to see where he could fit in with the other storylines.

I agree with Dan. I'm not really sold on Kane as champion. This was certainly Kurt Angle's time.

9-25-00 | PENN STATE UNIVERSITY Commentators: Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross
The show starts with a recap of last night's event, No Mercy. The video showcases the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle carrying an unconcious Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley from ringside, and the shocking debut of Raven whom attacked The Rock which led to Kane becoming the NEW WWF Champion.
The show officially opens up with the former WWF Champion, The Rock, storming to the ring and he's not in a good mood. He cuts a vicious promo against Raven, challenging him to a one-on-one fight with no sneak attacks. He turns his attention to Kane and demands that he have a rematch, right here tonight! Kane makes his way to the ring and says that he'll take The Rock all the way to Hell and back. The main event for the night is on!
HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP: Test © (w/ Albert and Trish Stratus) def. Steve Blackman Test put his newly won Hardcore Championship on the line against the former champion, Steve Blackman in this very quick brawl. As soon as the bell rung Test and Albert demolished Blackman, both inside the ring and out. Blackman put on a good effort to fight back but the oods were too much for him. Test got the victory with the big boot after Albert held Blackman in place. |
We go backstage where Triple H is making his way to the ring limping and he is not pleased after the previous night's events.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
When we return from the commercial, Triple H storms to the ring with a bit of a limp as a result of the ankle lock from Kurt Angle at Unforgiven. The Game demands that Angle bring his ass to the ring so that he can bust his head open. Unexpectdly, Edge and Christian made their way to the ring, with no Kurt Angle in sight. Edge said that Kurt won't be able to make it to the arena tonight as he is still "busy" with Stephanie. That comment sent Triple H over the limit as he nailed Edge with a right hand before doing the same to Christian. But the numbers overcame H and soon he was on the canvas as Edge and Christian put the boots to him. Christian brought two chairs into the ring and they were set to give Triple H the conchairto until The Hardy Boyz ran down to chase away the Tag Team Champions. Edge and Christian backed up the entrance way when Commissioner Foley came out and announced that as a result of what just transpired, Edge and Christian will face Triple H and The Hardy Boyz in a Six Man Tag Team Match provided they can find a suitable replacement for Kurt Angle. However, if they are unable to find a partner then it will be a good old fashioned Handicap Match! Edge and Christian aren't pleased.
TAG TEAM ACTION: Lo Down (D'lo Brown and Chaz) def. Kai En Tai (Taka Michinoku and Funaki) This was pretty much a filler match. Lo Down showed that they have a great chemistry as a tag team, while Taka and Funaki put up a good fight. There was lots of reversals and high impact action in this one, but in the end D'lo and Chaz got the W with their new finishing move dubbed "The Upward Downfall", a powerbomb by Chaz followed by the Lo Down from D'lo. D'lo got the pinfall over Taka while Chaz kept Funaki at bay.
**After the match, D'lo got on the mic and said that he and Chaz are sick and tired of being pushed to the side and that they want the Tag Team Championships. |
Backstage, in the "office" of the Acolytes Protection Agency, we see The Acolytes enjoying a game of cards when The Dudley Boyz show up uninvited. Faarooq tells them that they need to go back and use the door, but D-Von cuts him off; The Dudleyz blame The Acolytes for the loss to Right To Censor. Bradshaw takes exception, with a punch to Bubba Ray which sets off a huge brawl. Referees and other officials rush to break up the fight as we go to commercial.
COMMERICAL BREAK
SINGLES MATCH: Chris Jericho def. Perry Saturn (with Terri) Before the match Jericho bragged about ridding the WWF of that greasy-haired rat known as X-Pac. Jericho said that he now has only one goal, which is to become the World Wrestling Federation Champion. This was a very competetive match, which saw Saturn take Jericho to the limit. The fans were a hundred percent behind Jericho as he and Saturn countered everything each man had. Eventually Saturn put Jericho up for the Death Valley Driver but Jericho countered with a very excellent DDT followed by The Lionsault to pick up the victory.
**After the match, Jericho celebrated his win while Terri chcked on Saturn. Terri got into Jericho's face before slapping him, which set Jericho off. Jericho pushed Terri down before trying to apply the Walls of Jericho when Saturn nailed Jericho in the back of the head with a vicious heel kick. Saturn locked on the Rings of Saturn as referees ran down to pry Saturn off of Jericho. |
In the back, we see Eddie Guerrero trying to apologize to Chyna for losing his temper at Unforgiven. Chyna doesn't look convinced but she eventually gives in to Eddie's pleads and the two share a hug. We see the sly smirk on Eddie's face that is all too familiar as we fade to another commercial.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
We go to the back where Commissioner Foley is talking with Edge and Christian. E&C are trying to get Foley to call off the tag match but Foley says that the match is final! before banging the gabble against Christian's thumb. The Tag Champions leave with sour looks on their face while Christian is nursing his smashed thumb. Suddenly The Acolytes barge into Foley's office and they demand a match against The Dudley Boyz right here tonight. Foley grants them their wish, but instead of a regular tag team match, it will be a Tables Match!
We go back to ringside when The Right To Censor make their way to the stage. Steven Richards proclaims that he won a fight against immorality last night but the war against filth and smut is still raging on. Richards announces that there is a new member to the group, someone to clean up the women's division. Ivory joins Richards and the rest on the stage; Ivory states that the women's division is filled with nothing but filth rolling around in their underwear which is an insult to women everywhere. Ivory claims that she is the only classy woman in the WWF and she is going to single-handedly bring class to the women's division by taking out the Women's Champion, Lita. The now five members of the Right To Censor raise their right hands in the air as the fans give them big heat.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Tazz makes his way to the ring, gloating about how he choked out Jerry Lawler in their Strap Match and he says that he's about to do the same to his opponent tonight.
SINGLES MATCH: Tazz def. Crash Holly Tazz just pummeled poor little Crash Holly. Crash tried with all his might to fight back but Tazz was relentless. Crash was given every suplex imaginable one after another before being forced to tap out to the Tazzmission.
**After the match, Tazz refused to let go of Crash who was turning blue in the face. Suddenly, Jerry Lawler entered the ring for retribution against Tazz. Tazz and Lawler went at it before Tazz ducked under a punch and locked Lawler in the Tazzmission! Lawler slowly faded out while Tazz laughed like a maniac. Tazz left the bodies of Crash Holly and Jerry Lawler in his wake as he left the ringside area. |
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Back from the commercial, Michael Cole has replaced Jerry Lawler on commentary. It's time for the six man tag. Triple H comes out to a good ovation as do The Hardy Boyz and Lita. Edge and Christian come out with surprisingly big smiles. Edge announces that they have found a very suitable replacement for Kurt.
SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH: Triple H and The Hardy Boyz (with Lita) vs. Edge and Christian (Tag Team Champions) and Chris Benoit This match was action packed from beginning to end. Matt and Jeff were still bitter from losing to Edge and Christian the night before, while Triple H was supporting himself on his injured leg. Benoit spent most of the match fighting with Triple H while the two teams took it to each other. The end came when Jeff went for the Swanton Bomb on Edge when Benoit pulled Jeff off the top rope and slammed him into the barricade. Edge hit the spear on Matt to get the win for his team.
**After the match, Benoit and Triple H were going at it. Benoit caught Triple H as he went for a punch before locking in the Crippler Crossface. Referees came down to pull Benoit off The Game. Edge, Christian, and Benoit celebrated to the back as The Hardyz, Lita, and the referees checked on Triple H. It has not been a good twenty-four hours for The Game. |
Backstage, Jonathan Coachman is interviewing The Rock. The Rock says that history is going to repeat itself when he whoops Kane's big goofy red ass to win back the WWF Championship...IF YOU SMELLLL...WHAT THE ROCK...IS COOKING...
COMMERCIAL BREAK
TABLES MATCH: The Acolytes def. The Dudley Boyz Brutal match, enough said. Not only were tables involved, but so were chairs, pipes, the announcer's table, and even the ring steps. When one person was about to be put through a table their partner would save them from certain defeat. In the end The Acolytes prevailed when Bradshaw, standing on the ring steps inside the ring, gave D-Von a devastating powerbomb through four tables set up on the outside of the ring.
**After the match, Bradshaw and Faarooq raised their arms in victory while Bubba Ray checked on his half-brother. Even though The Acolytes have won tonight, the war between these two teams is far from over. |
After a video recap of Unforgiven, we go back to the ring where William Regal is sitting in the ring getting ready to teach the audience about proper manners at the dinner table. The fans are chanting "Boring!" when suddenly Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his return to RAW after a 10 month absence. After doing his usual routine, Austin glances at Regal before nailing him with a right hook. Austin puts the boots to Regal before throwing him into the ring corner and proceeds to stomp a mudhole in the Goodwill Ambassado'rs ass. Austin drags Regal to the middle of the ring before giving him the Stone Cold Stunner. Austin celebrates as usual with a beer bash, pouring cans of beer over Regal's body. Austin grabs a microphone and says that he is going to raise hell and beat everybody's ass until he finds out who ran him over last November.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Rikishi © def. Albert (with Test and Trish Stratus) In this battle of the behemoths, Albert took it to the new Intercontinental Champion. During the match, the former champion Eddie Guerrero joined Michael Cole and Jim Ross on commentary, witih Chyna nowhere in sight. Whenever the referee wasn't looking Test and Trish tried to help Albert in any way they could but it wasn't enough to keep Rikishi down. After moving out of the way of the bicycle kick Rikishi caught Albert with a kick to the face before dragging Albert to the corner. Rikishi dropped all four hundred pounds of his anatomy onto Albert to successfully retain his championship.
**Immediately after the match ended Test ran into the ring with a big boot to Rikishi. Trish handed a steel chair to Test who proceeded to relentlessly bash Rikishi until Albert recovered and they double teamed the big man. Too Cool rushed out to help their fallen buddy. The fight ended up on the outside and spilled into the crowd, leaving Rikishi alone in the ring. Suddenly Eddie Guerrero got into the ring and in a shocking moment, helped Rikishi to his feet. Eddie offered to shake Rikishi's hand and was accepted. Eddie raised Rikishi's arm high in the air as the referee handed the Intercontinental Title to the champion. As Rikishi turned to leave, Eddie nailed him with a kick to the family jewels, bringing him to his knees. Eddie picked up the title and smashed it against Rikishi's face before mounting him and driving his fist into Rikishi's head and face. Rikishi is busted open when Chyna runs down to pull Eddie off him. Eddie yells at her to stay the hell out of his business before giving Rikishi one more kick to the face. Eddie leaves Chyna alone in the ring. Chyna looks disapporivingly at Eddie before she checks on Rikishi but he pushes her away. |
We see Kane walking through the arena with the WWF Championship in his possession. The rematch is next!
COMMERICAL BREAK
WWF CHAMPIONSHIP: Kane © def. The Rock This match went back and forth, it seemed that either one would get the win at any point. One minute The Rock would have the upper hand, next second Kane was punishing The People's Champion. Toward the end of the match the referee was knocked out when The Rock shoved Kane into him. Kane went for the chokeslam but Rock slipped out of it and hit the Rock Bottom! Rock set Kane up for The People's Elbow when out of nowhere, Raven nailed The Rock with the Evenflow DDT for the second night in a row! Raven did his signature crucifix pose before escaping through the fans. Kane nailed Rock with the chokeslam to retain the WWF Championship. |
RAW came to an end with Kane standing over Rock, holding the WWF Championship high in the air as the flames shoot from the turnbuckles.

-Decent promo here for the Rock, his feud with Raven should be nice. -Test over Blackman is a strong start especially adding a title to this in a rematch sort of. -I like that feuds from last night can be brought into this. Angle/HHH should also be great. -Jericho over Saturn is the right call here, hope Jericho has a nice reign here. -Tazz over Holly was expected to let Tazz keep his roll. -Great tag team match here, I don't mind who wins. Edge, Christian, and Benoit winning is good. -Sounded like a brutal match there, the match ordering could have gone for the first-hour but still, the result was right. -Austin/Regal feud should be great. I like his return but it'd be much huger on No Mercy. Wonde where this one will go. -Rikishi retaining the gold is cool. Big title night here. -Kane retaining over The Rock because of Raven is awesome once again. Since he lost the rematch clause, Raven/Rock feud should advance next week. -Good show; can't wait to see what you have next.

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 25th September 2000...I'm interested. Intriguing yet old-school setup to the show, but by the way your show heading logo is broken. Decent start with The Rock in the ring, but I'd find it hard to find him too angry in this time period; he'd probably belittle Raven, in a segment I'd be amused by. Test beating Steve Blackman is fine in a good WWF Hardcore Championship defense. Wouldn't be surprised to see T&A break up if you're thinking realistically, maybe Albert or even Trish Stratus taking the title from Test. Triple H's promo was good, surprised by Edge and Christian's arrival, but wow, Triple H teaming with the Hardy Boyz oughta be great. Interesting if you keep Hunter a face or not. Lo Down beating Kaientai...Jakked worthy. Not really great, but to be honest even if they were to compete and have D-Lo Brown and Chaz cut a promo, it'd be done on Sunday Night Heat or SmackDown!. I know I liked Lo Down and thought they were underrated, but I'd still switch off on this match. Chris Jericho beating Perry Saturn is fine, enjoyable bout but odd for Terri to get in Y2J's face. This segment lacks X-Pac, though. He ridded of him? Doubtful. Hope he returns to one last push, he was still enjoyable to watch. Tazz beating Crash Holly is unsurprising, unnecessary for Jerry Lawler to get back in Tazz's face. I hope their feud doesn't continue past two pay-per-view matches. Great first-hour main event win for Hunter and the Hardys against Chris Benoit, Edge and Christian. Was it revealed where Kurt Angle went? Benoit without Shane McMahon is odd, I thought they were partnered up around this time. The Acolytes beating the Dudley Boyz is fine, a hard-hitting tables match. William Rega's segment was nice, but obvious something would happen. Stone Cold Steve Austin's return to RAW was amusing to read, nonetheless. Would enjoy seeing Austin and Regal having a feud on the sideline. They fought a lot around this time. Rikishi beating Albert was likely, good WWF Intercontinental Championship defense. Too Cool, Eddie Guerrero, Chyna all getting involved in the aftermath seemed pretty clustered, honestly. Confusing to read. If Kane is to be WWF Champion, I hope to see a promo from him on SmackDown!, he needs it. Great main event defense by Kane against The Rock, more interference from Raven too. Overall, a good show, very enjoyable to see this and it's different from the rest of the board. I feel one or two matches wasn't needed, and that there was one too many title defenses, but I guess it's all the feel of the Attitude Era in full swing. Was baffled by the lack of The Undertaker and Kurt Angle though. I wonder who Kane will face at No Mercy. Looking forward to answered questions with SmackDown!.
