MONDAY NIGHT RAW
MARCH 22, 2004 - DETROIT, MI
The locker room full of WWE superstars were shown, both RAW and SmackDown! talent, as tonight we will see which WWE superstars switch brands!
The opening RAW video package then aired, as we cut to the arena where pyrotechnics went off and Jim Ross and Jerry "King" Lawler welcomed us to the 2004 Draft Lottery edition of Monday Night RAW. They talked about how tonight may be important for the twelve WWE superstars as their lives may be drastically changed forever. Eric Bischoff then made his way out to his podium, to the right of the entrance, gathering quite a few boos from the capacity crowd in Detroit. Moments later the theme of Paul Heyman hit, and out came the SmackDown! General Manager, equaling the amount of boos Bischoff received. The two glared at each other, as we were kicking things off with interbrand action!
REY MYSTERIO def. CHRISTIAN w/TRISH STRATUS IN A WWE DRAFT LOTTERY MATCH The egotistical "Captain Charisma" was accompanied by his new girlfriend, Trish Stratus in this match, as he went against the high-flying cruiserweight, Rey Mysterio. Mysterio confused Christian throughout the match using his agility, almost getting in the 619 literally seconds into the match. Christian slowed him down though, using a powerful boot to the chest. Christian then started to work the back, bending the SmackDown! superstar up like a pretzel. Chris Jericho soon walked down the rampway, stalking Trish around the ringside area, and Christian was visibly distracted. Rey managed to dropkick Christian into the ropes, the 619 connected followed by the rollup for the win!
Rey Mysterio celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, Paul Heyman heard over the podium, the SmackDown! General Manager walking over to the lottery bowl and pulling out a ball. And the first RAW superstar coming over to SmackDown! is
CHRIS JERICHO! Y2J did not look happy at all, as Christian saw through the loss and smiled confidently. Jericho looked at Heyman before dropkicking Christian out of the ring!

We cut to the backstage area where Evolution was shown standing around the interview area. Triple H joined them, shades and leather jacket on as Ric Flair asked Hunter what the plan was for tonight if Evolution was to be separated. Batista told the members that Evolution made him, and regardless of what happens tonight, he will always be a part of Evolution, and fighting off the opposition. Randy Orton mentions that he knows Evolution made him. But as a part of Evolution, he will continue to prove HIS legacy. Because with or without them, he is a part of them, and he will rise to the top. If he ends up on SmackDown!, and Hunter on RAW; Triple H will dominate RAW, Orton can dominate SmackDown!, and Evolution will run the WWE! The group laugh before Brock Lesnar appeared up the corridor. He told Evolution to keep on dreaming, before grinning and leaving.
Eric Bischoff was shown back at the podium, as the RAW General Manager discussed that RAW had the worse-for-wear on the last match, but he knows for a fact that with this next match, RAW will have the upperhand, because he has personally signed this match for HIS show!
KANE & BATISTA def. FUNAKI IN A WWE DRAFT LOTTERY MATCH This was an oddball match, as Eric Bischoff wanted to get a cheap Draft Lottery win for the RAW brand, and it was strange to see the "Big Red Monster" Kane in association with the "Animal" from Evolution, Batista. Batista dismantled Funaki with two spinebusters that left Funaki unconscious right there and then, before Kane tagged himself in, delivering a Chokeslam to Funaki for the easy win.
The crowd booed as these two giants from RAW had destroyed the Japanese wonderkid, Funaki. Kane was then stood face to face with the "Animal", Batista not so pleased that Kane had stolen his thunder. The two came to blows as the referee was stuck in there as well! Eric Bischoff ordered security to the ring as the two monsters were restrained. Bischoff took a ball from the lottery bowl, and the first SmackDown! superstar coming to RAW is
THE BIG SHOW! The Big Show quickly came out to the ring, throwing the security guards around and resuming with the brawl going on between Batista and Kane! A true battlefield!

Paul Heyman was on the podium as we returned to RAW, the SmackDown! General Manager stating that he wasn't so impressed with Bischoff's move in the last match. But he hopes he handles the controversial monster scene on RAW. Meanwhile, he is going to go ahead with something that Vince McMahon just asked him to do over the phone, and book tonight's main event match. Tonight, in the interest of fairness, Triple H will take on The Undertaker! And the winner's brand...will get THREE draft attempts from the Lottery!
MOLLY HOLLY def. NIDIA IN A WWE DRAFT LOTTERY MATCH Molly Holly was still getting over her loss of hair at WrestleMania XX, as she went into this interbrand match against SmackDown!'s newly independent Nidia. Nidia showcased more of a technical style to her moveset, perhaps learning from her ex-boyfriend Jamie Noble. Molly worked the shoulder of Nidia whilst Nidia fired back and started with some flying clotheslines, then nailing a powerbomb! Molly soon got up and fought back though, going up top and delivering the Molly-go-Round for the win.
Molly Holly looked angry still regarding Victoria and Lita, as she kicked Nidia again in the ribs. Eric Bischoff thanked Molly for winning one for RAW. The second SmackDown! superstar moving to RAW is
SHELTON BENJAMIN!
We cut to the backstage area as Shelton Benjamin was shown in the SmackDown! locker room, seated beside his tag team partner in the World's Greatest Tag Team, Charlie Haas. Haas stood up and left as Benjamin continued to look into nothingness.
An advertisement aired, promoting Thursday Night SmackDown! this week, as the WWE Championship will be on the line as John Cena challenges Eddie Guerrero for the gold. And for the WWE Tag Team Championships, Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty will depend against both the World's Greatest Tag Team, and the APA! This Thursday on UPN from 7/8c!

We cut to the backstage area where Rob Van Dam and Booker T were shown walking down a corridor, as RVD talked about how they may have had some miscommunication last week on RAW. But tonight Booker can work better. Booker asked RVD what he meant, asking Van Dam if he thought it was only him who let the team down against Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak; RVD was the one who took the loss! "Mr Monday Night" tells Booker that it won't happen again, and that's a guarantee. Van Dam left, whilst Booker was left standing with uncertainty.
THE APA def. THE DUDLEY BOYZ, ROB VAN DAM AND BOOKER T, GARRISON CADE AND MARK JINDRAK, LA RESISTANCE, THE HURRICANE AND ROSEY, THE WORLD'S GREATEST TAG TEAM, THE BASHAM BROTHERS, RIKISHI & SCOTTY 2 HOTTY, THE FULL BLOODED ITALIANS IN A WWE DRAFT LOTTERY TEAM BATTLE ROYAL MATCH This was a twenty man battle royal contested between teams, all for a draft pick from their respective brand. It was every man for themselves as the FBI, Hurricane and Rosey, La Resistance and the Basham Brothers were quickly cleared out. Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin worked individually for the main part until Haas tossed his own partner out of the ring to loud boos. Haas was bitter with his partner, who will be moving to RAW next week. The action filed down to Bradshaw, Faarooq, Bubba Ray Dudley, Rob Van Dam, Mark Jindrak and Rikishi, everybody managing to eliminate Rikishi. The APA and RVD ended up remaining, Van Dam managing to fight off elimination attempts. However in the end Bradshaw clotheslined RVD right out of the ring for the win.
The crowd cheered as the APA celebrated their win on what could be their last collective win as a tag team! Rob Van Dam was down at ringside as Booker T stood nearby, shaking his head in disappointment. Paul Heyman went up to the podium, revealing that the second RAW superstar moving to SmackDown! will be
RICO!
Shawn Michaels was shown in the backstage corridor, the "Heartbreak Kid" reading a newspaper about Goldberg's departure from the WWE. He was soon joined by John Cena, as Cena told Shawn that he knows it was a rough loss for the WWE, but in all honesty, who needed him! Shawn laughed as he told Cena that he wished him luck in his WWE Championship match this Thursday. He called Eddie Guerrero a fine wrestler as well, stating that it will be an honor to take on the WWE Champion tonight. Cena wished him luck before leaving.

SHAWN MICHAELS def. EDDIE GUERRERO IN A WWE DRAFT LOTTERY MATCH A drag-out technical masterpiece between two true sportsmen in this business. The WWE Champion and the former World Heavyweight Champion shook hands in the opening moments as these two fought back and forth, this crowd in Detroit going crazy for these two. "Latino Heat" worked over the weakened knee of the "Heartbreak Kid", as the "Heartbreak Kid" in return worked on the shoulder of "Latino Heat". Shawn was still at the top of the list to the World Heavyweight Championship held by Chris Benoit; meanwhile Eddie was about to walk into a WWE Championship defense against John Cena this Thursday on SmackDown! Michaels and Eddie continued to fight through a commercial break as the WWE Champion shoved Michaels off of the top rope, Guerrero going for the Frog Splash just for the theme of Kurt Angle to hit! Eddie awaited the Olympic Gold Medalist to walk out, but after a while he was left with nothing, and as Eddie dove off of the top rope, he landed with Sweet Chin Music! HBK scored the win.
The crowd cheered as the "Heartbreak Kid" celebrated his win, soon helping the WWE Champion to his feet. Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero shook hands and hugged for a courageous battle, Paul Heyman looking on in disgust. Eric Bischoff took the podium, as the next SmackDown! superstar moving to RAW is
RHYNO!
Brock Lesnar was shown returning to the SmackDown! locker room, as the "Next Big Thing" noticed Chris Jericho now in the locker room, being welcomed to the brand by the APA, Orlando Jordan and Paul London. Lesnar told them to leave as he confronted Y2J. Lesnar talked about how he didn't think they've met before. Jericho tells Lesnar that he's watched him come up through the ranks, and it's amusing how quickly Lesnar went from being a fearless powerhouse to being a cowardly greed-driven jackass! Jericho tells Lesnar that he won't let him bully him, because Y2J does not take orders from a walking skyscraper who has the charisma of microphone feedback! The crowd cheered, Lesnar grinning and telling Jericho to meet him in the ring on Thursday.

VICTORIA def. TORRIE WILSON IN A WWE DRAFT LOTTERY MATCH The WWE Womens Champion competed in the second match involving the Divas tonight. Torrie tried to put up a fight, but Victoria was simply too much raw power for the Playboy covergirl to handle. Victoria swiftly finished Wilson with the powerbomb in a fair match between two favourite divas.
Victoria celebrated her win before helping Torrie Wilson up. Eric Bischoff went up to the podium, revealing that the next SmackDown! superstar moving to RAW is
HARDCORE HOLLY! Bischoff then told the divas to get out of his ring, as he had something to address. Bischoff strided to the ring with confidence as the RAW General Manager seemingly meant business here tonight. Bischoff got into the ring and began to discuss something that had kept him down for so long. He always hunted for this superstar, since the day he was instated as RAW GM. But he was always anchored to SmackDown!. And then, a flaw by Paul Heyman is when he forgot about this man who recently became a free agent in the WWE. Why? Because of his broken neck. This man goes by the name of 'Edge'! The crowd roared as Edge's theme hit, the Canadian making his way down to the ring after not being seen in fourteen months on WWE television! Edge took the microphone and wanted to thank everybody for being here tonight on RAW for his return. He was quickly interrupted by Bischoff who asked him if he wanted to come to RAW. Suddenly, Paul Heyman's voice was heard asking what this was. The SmackDown! General Manager came to the ring, Heyman asking Edge about how inconsiderate Bischoff seems. Edge tells Heyman that Bischoff may be rude for not letting him talk, but here's Heyman, the guy that caused him fourteen months of pain, strain and inactivity! And he doesn't realize how much it pissed him off! Bischoff then told Edge that this was good, stating how he shouldn't be in an unsafe working environment when he can be with the top stars that the company has to offer on Monday Night RAW! Edge tells Bischoff to shut his mouth and keep out of it, because he wants to stay on SmackDown!, and he wants only one thing: revenge! Edge then gave Heyman a right hand, delivering the Spear to Bischoff as well! Edge was back, and the fans loved every minute of it!
We see Evolution in the backstage area as Randy Orton and Ric Flair seemed content with following the "Cerebral Assassin" to the ring, his match with the Undertaker up next in this main event!
|| COMMERCIAL BREAK ||
The theme of Evolution hit as Randy Orton and Ric Flair accompanied the "Game" Triple H out to the ring. The trio stood tall in the ring, Randy taking the microphone. The "Legend Killer" wanted to talk about how he has set his intentions on facing The Rock, but it's such a shame that he's never available, so he says, to appear on Monday Night RAW. The crowd boo, as Orton states the truth, the truth being that Rock doesn't have time for wrestling anymore! And instead he pawns his sideshow friend, Mick Foley onto him at every mention. Well Foley isn't here tonight! And as far as Orton's concerned, Foley can keep out of it! But tonight, Triple H will defeat The Undertaker, and Orton will finish the "Phenom" off, adding him to his list of killed legends. Ric Flair followed, speaking about how Evolution will always be powerful, regardless of anyone being drafted to SmackDown! tonight in the final three draft picks. But it won't be occurring anyway, because once Triple H wins tonight, RAW will be swimming in star power, all of which will be inferior to Evolution of course! The trio laugh. Triple H lastly took the microphone, informing the fans that the last time he and the Undertaker stood eye to eye, he was on the losing end. But not any longer. Tonight, the "Deadman" falls to the "Cerebral Assassin"; he doesn't scare Evolution.
An advertisement aired, promoting the next RAW-brand exclusive pay-per-view event, WWE Backlash. Live on Sunday 25 April, 2004 from Edmonton, Alberta.

THE UNDERTAKER w/PAUL BEARER def. TRIPLE H w/RANDY ORTON & RIC FLAIR by DISQUALIFICATION IN A WWE DRAFT LOTTERY MATCH The "Phenom"s first appearance on Monday Night RAW since 2002, the Undertaker came to trading blows with his old adversary Triple H in the opening moments, the number factor not seemingly bothering the "Deadman" or Paul Bearer. The "Cerebral Assassin" recruited himself to ringside several times as the "Deadman" seemingly made Hunter reconfigure his strategy in this match. The former World Heavyweight Champion soon fired back with some heavy blows to the "Deadman". The Undertaker was knocked down following a distraction from the "Nature Boy", 'Taker given a heavy spinebuster. Hunter went right after the back of the "Deadman", keeping him neutralized. Triple H soon set up for the Pedigree, but 'Taker fired back, then knocking Orton and Flair off of the apron! 'Taker gave Hunter the Chokeslam before signalling the Tombstone Piledriver, Flair and Orton jumping 'Taker!
The crowd booed as the "Legend Killer" tried giving the Undertaker the RKO just for the "Phenom" to shove him off! 'Taker gave Ric Flair a Chokeslam before delivering a big boot to Triple H! That's when Batista came through the crowd, jumping the "Deadman"! Evolution united, they pounded away at 'Taker in the corner, Paul Bearer at ringside with the urn. Moments later, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels and the Big Show came out to the ring, a four-on-four fight engaging in the centre of the ring! Evolution soon backed up, Show seemingly recruited to the anti-Evolution alliance since joining the RAW brand an hour ago! Paul Heyman walked with a limp to the podium, revealing that the three RAW superstars coming to SmackDown! consisted of
ROB VAN DAM, BOOKER T and
ROB CONWAY! The crowd cheered as The Undertaker, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels and the Big Show stood tall in the ring, RAW going off the air.
