There really isn't a cheap way to do quality decals unless you're lucky enough to have access to either a heavy duty printer, or free printing in general. Paper isn't an issue, but the printer ink is.
There is one alternative that Great Gonzo has gotten me thinking of. He intends to just get the paper, design a ton of logos, put them on a zip drive, and then just take them to a FedEx/Kinko's store to have them printed up. Neither of us really know what that will cost exactly, but it may be far more cost effective than using up ink cartridges on our home printers. My only concern would be with the ink running/smudging on the paper before I have a chance to spray it all down with gloss sealer.
I seriously wouldn't suggest using regular paper. Maybe some people can pull it off, but I've always though it looked god awful.

thanks for your advise man, well the printer ink is longer a issue for me since my girlfriend can print as much as she wants at work for me. i have 3 differnt kinds of papper i can use
Glossy photo paper - have alot left over from when i was doing CS custom packages. Reg paper Cardboard style paper - idk the proper name for this type of paper but it has a cardboard feel to it and its yellowish. i use it for my mattel name tags.
Wich one of those would be best for the decal?

i use my sealer, i guess this technique could also work with PVA glue.
-print out on normal paper the design you need -you apply the sealer/glue to the area you want to put the decal. i.e chest - add the logo -add the sealer/pva glue over the logo and onto the chest - use your fingers to push the log0 into all the little crease marks and apply more sealer/PVA - make sure all the edges are stuck down. with the sealer/glue
and thats it. worked fine on my figures which i'll be uploading pics of when i get my camera back.
