I wasn't aware of this. I thought Jakks gave the legends talent like $5,000 dollars per likeness.
He complains about the WWE not giving him any money for his Jakks figure and then turns right around and does one for Mattel.

Isn't Kamala one of the rarest Hasbro figures? And isn't that Classics one fairly sought after?

Isn't Kamala one of the rarest Hasbro figures? And isn't that Classics one fairly sought after? There is a rare hasbro Kamala, only 26 or so were made. Anyways, when the store employee scans the card, it would come up as let's say Hulk Hogan, so it would look like you bought a Hogan figure, so Hogan would get money from the Kamala figure you just bought.

Kamala seems like a good dude... but it sounds like he didn't look at the contracts very closely before he signed them.

Hopefully, Kamala's getting a nice royalty check from WWE/Mattel. Anyways, when the store employee scans the card, it would come up as let's say Hulk Hogan, so it would look like you bought a Hogan figure, so Hogan would get money from the Kamala figure you just bought. I read about it happening to Jericho's figures in WCW, but that happened in the WWF too?

I *believe* it depends on how your deal is structured.
If you sign up for a figure to be produced, you naturally get paid for the figure. However if you sign the blanket "WWE Legends" contract for a lump sum, they still pay you when they use you physically, such as a cameo or match on Raw, but they do not have to pay you again when they use your likeness, because that initial "lump sum" payment is payment for those very likeness rights. In other words, he doesn't necessarily get paid again if they make a figure of him, put him on a t-shirt, put him in a video game, etc., whatever monetary amount he agreed to when he signed his legends contract constituted the payment for those future likeness rights usages and merchandising.

I bet he got an extra grand or something like that. Taking advantage of a uneducated giant. He only managed to pay off his house because he worked with WCW. When he thought Undertaker he only got a couple of grand Undertaker got $500,000. He did say no fault of Undertaker though he says he's a good guy.

Kamala seems like a good dude... but it sounds like he didn't look at the contracts very closely before he signed them. You will be paid the sum of $5,000 USD for the initial use of your likeness(any profits made in return will go to Hulk Hogan).
