Violence isn't always evil. What's evil is the infatuation with violence. - Jim Morrison

October 17, 2010 - The Story
Writing something like this is going to be hard for me. Those who actually give a damn, I ask you to bare with me.
My name is Ashton Nathaniel Joseph Mathews, but I prefer to be called A.J., always have. I was born on July 15, 1990, making me twenty years of age. Less than two years into my life, my mother and father were involved in a car accident that drove them off the road. The crash took their lives. I obviously had not gained the knowledge of knowing exactly how much significance they were to me. At the time of the incident, I was at my Aunt Debra and Uncle Rick's house. Luckily, due to my Uncle's military service, he wound up just a few towns away from my parents. Once they found out about this happening, they were devastated. Knowing I had nowhere else to go with family so close, they eventually came to the conclusion they would raise me themselves. The next few years of my life stuck average, as I grew into a curious child. By the age of seven in the beginning of 1998, I walked in on my Uncle watching WWF Monday Night Raw. An obsessive infatuation began within me. Like many who just begin watching wrestling at a young age, it was unknown to me that everything was scripted. I took it very serious, but learned from my Uncle a few months in about the truth.
As my life continued onward into my Junior High years, and we moved every few months, there weren't many kids who were into wrestling like I was. At the age of eleven in the sixth grade, I was teased like crazy for my love of wrestling. Not only did the other kids not appreciate the business, nor did my three cousins and sister. I removed myself of interest from the wrestling business. Within those next two years I settled myself into the joys of baseball, 'American' football, and basketball - with writing in English class on the side. It was all fantastic.
Come late Summer 2003, I flipped through the channels and a disturbed looking man held an old woman upside down and dropped her down on the stage. I took notice this woman was Linda McMahon, and the commentators noted it was 'Kane' who had done this. Confusion flowed through my mind as I did not recognize him anymore without the mask and I needed to know what the Hell I had been missing the past few years. I checked the internet, getting vague information, and continued on watching not only Raw - but Smackdown as well. Oh, that infatuation has risen once again!
I continued my watching of wrestling well still doing my sporting, but in mid-2004 I found out some devastating news that put everything to a stop. My sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Being fourteen at the time, I knew the dangers of cancer and was convinced that she was going to die and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. Being tough though, Christina fought against the cancer. But in the summer of 2007, the battle was over and she passed away. I lost all faith in God that I previously had in life fairly quick, and quit all sports that I was a part of. My grades also began to slip, and it was all because I couldn't pull myself together and accept the way life was. I practically gave up. Wrestling was all I gave my time for, as it seemed to bring me peace of mind in some odd way. To this day I still can't fabricate a reason as to why. I barely passed through Junior year. Over the summer, we settled in Maine following Uncle Rick's retirement, and I told myself I was going to get my crap together this year and get through everything. I did. I made honor roll each quarter, and throughout the time I looked for colleges. I was accepted by the Maine Educational College of Art, and chose to stay living with Aunt Debra and Uncle Rick for the time well I was there. But now that I reach my second year, I suddenly have these feelings of depression due to my past reforming inside. I feel the urge to take it all out with my physical presence. I savor the taste of violence that I have deprived myself of so far in life.
But what can I do?

Excellent write up and I'm intrigued so far, I just don't know where this is going. If it leads to you becoming a wrestler, I'm all for it.

I'm impressed that was a really sophisticated write up. It dealt with a whole load of emotions and it was written darn well. I'm really looking forward to where this leads I just hope you don't fall into generic write ups which seemed like you were going into on the last line. In other words don't just have him wrestling because he wants to hurt people or something as plain as that. It was a very creative write up so keep it up in the later write ups. I'll be reading, good luck and keep this up.

January 8, 2011 - It's Been A While
It's been a while. About two and a half months ago I introduced myself to you all. Though, I seemed to be forgotten as I slowly drifted away without any updates here. After that last update, a few weeks later I dropped out of school. I wanted to become a professional wrestler. I traveled to Bangor and took the liberty of putting myself into Maine Amateur Wrestling Alliance training school. After about two months, just a week ago, I was approached by Robert Trobich, National Wrestling Alliance President. I didn't recognize him, but he did introduce himself and I knew the name.
Trobich: So, A.J., Some of my guys have been checking out the school for a while now, and they came back to me about a week ago with footage of you. I was impressed and had to see for myself how good you are for such a short term of being in the business.
Myself: I don't think I am exactly in the business quite yet, Mr. Trobich.
Trobich: Well, maybe not just yet. But possibly soon. What I mean by that, Mr. Mathews, is to tell you of an event over in Springvale on the fourteenth. Would you be interested in taking part in a match. If it's good enough - it will be featured on My Network TV at-
Myself: Ten P.M. on Friday Night. I know. I used to watch it after Smackdown ended.
Trobich: Yes, yes. So you know about us. That's a good thing; so what about being a part of the show?
What could I do? This was a big opportunity for me. I won't be guaranteed a spot on television for my family, friends, and other people across the North-East.
Myself: Well, it would be a great honor to compete for the NWA. I appreciate the offer, and I'll gladly do it.
Trobich: Great. I'll call you up in a couple of days to give you further information on what is going on. Your opponent, paycheck, and anything else you personally would like to know. Don't ask me anything now, take some time to think about it, alright?
Myself: Okay, Mr. Trobich. Thank you once again.
And that was that. He walked away and I had my first professional match. Mr. Trobich called me up last night and we had a short conversation that I won't go into big detail about. I didn't have any questions besides if they'd cover any possible injuries - which they will once I sign the contract. I was informed I will be taking on Matt Taven and my payment will be six hundred dollars. Pretty good, I think. Took me a couple weeks before to make that kind of cash.
We'll see what happens then.

I'm glad you are going to be doing this, AJ. I didn't ever read the first entry, but I'm glad I did as this character seems to have a true passion for wrestling. While some of the parts seem a little clichéd, its still going very well. Keep updating this, its very good.
