Whether you think 'Jackass 3D' is funny or not, there's no denying that the sight of Johnny Knoxville and his crew enduring extreme physical distress makes a helluva lot of money. What's more, they have a lot of fun doing it -- so much so that there's enough footage to make a sequel, er, now.
Knoxville told the Los Angeles Times, "We shot two movies' worth of footage... We have so many bits that we never even turned in to Paramount because we were so swamped with ideas - funny stuff. The bits were just coming out of us left and right." (He said bits.) Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, added, "How are you going to leave out the scene where a guy farts darts into another guy's face?... You know you're working with some high-quality material if you're leaving something like that out." Too true, too true.
In an interview with CraveOnline, director Jeff Tremaine has even more to say about 'Jackass 3D' and its future. "This movie was the hardest one so far to make the final cut. We've kicked so many really good things out of the movie. A lot of times it's just because it's too similar to something that's just a little bit better or there's too much vomiting, too much of this thing or that thing. 3.5 is going to be great and I hope we can show it in 3D because it's mostly in 3D as well."
Wait, did he say 'Jackass 3.5?' Did Tremaine let slip that Paramount already had plans for a sequel, or, as per 'Jackass 2.5,' an online release? With the massive haul that 'Jackass 3D' brought in over the weekend, it's certainly tantalizing to put out another sequel as soon as possible, especially with what sounds like an incredibly short turn-around time. LAT reports, " A person familiar with the situation said that Paramount will likely decide about where and when to release the "Jackass 3-D" follow-up in the next few days." Either way, it sounds like Paramount already had plans for what was left over from 'Jackass 3D.'
With plans already in place for a second theatrical release of 'Jackass 3D,' why not make it a double feature? Would you head back into theaters to watch what didn't make the first cut? Do you think the leftover bits will really be as funny as what made it onto the big screen, or are these better suited for DVD extras?

I really hope they do this, theyve already got 50 mill and it still hasnt been released in the UK yet, so theyll get even more money
