After World Heavyweight Champion Edge was dropped with a Batista Bomb from 'The Animal' himself, CM Punk capitalized on the opportunity and cashed in his Money In The Bank contract that he won at Wrestlemania XXIV. After the bell rang, Punk hoisted Edge to his shoulders and successfully hit the GTS. Punk covered Edge to achieve his dream and become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Monday Night Raw | July 7, 2008
*Before the show began, Stephanie McMahon addressed the Raw locker room, telling them that they need to work together during this difficult time.
* After Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcome all of us to Monday Night Raw, "This Fire Burns" hits as the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk makes his way to the ring. Before he can even speak, we hear the words '"Excuse Me'" as Chavo Guerrero pushes his aunt to the stage. It is hard to hear Vickie at first due to the amount of heat that she received. Vickie said that because of Punk cashing in his Money In The Bank contract and taking the World Heavyweight Championship from Edge, her wedding is cancelled. She says that even though there's no GM on Raw, she is the GM of Smackdown so she is making tonight's main event. It will be CM Punk taking on Chavo Guerrero, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, and Bam Neely in a 4-on-1 Handicap Match.
[Commercial Break]
Rey Mysterio def. Santino Marella This match was made after the encounter last week with these two. A solid opening contest here to Monday Night Raw. At one point during the match, Santino asked Rey where Robin was, a reference to his comment last week about Rey's mask. Rey hit the 619 and the follow up Splash to get the win.
* The World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase were shown in their locker room when John Bradshaw Layfield walked in and told them that he had an offer. JBL said that he needs to find two tag team partners to take on John Cena and Cryme Tyme tonight and feels that they are the best possible choice for him. Rhodes and DiBiase gladly accept JBL's offer, saying that this is there chance to show the world that they are the future of this business.
* Chris Jericho and Lance Cade are shown making their way to the ring.
[Commercial Break]
* Chris Jericho and Lance Cade made their way down to the ring at this time. Jericho said that at Night Of Champions, Shawn Michaels cost him the Intercontinental Championship. Because of that, he attacked Michaels and had the intentions on blinding the Heart Break Kid. Then last week, he attempted to do the same to the man who stole the Intercontinental Championship from him, Kofi Kingston. Jericho says that he knows Michaels is here tonight, so he wants him to come out here now. Jericho and Cade patiently wait, but Shawn never comes out. Instead, Kofi Kingston enters the ring through the crowd and attacks Jericho. Cade takes Kingston down to the mat. Jericho and Cade both repeatedly strike and stomp on Kingston until Shawn michaels hits the ring and takes out both of them. Jericho and Cade retreat as Shawn helps Kingston back up to his feet.
* Jamie Noble was shown roaming around backstage, holding his ribs as he is still in pain from Kane's attack last week. He approaches Katie Lea Burchill. Noble says that no normal man could take the beating that he received last week, which shows that he is the most dominant superstar on Raw. Katie says that Noble is in fact a normal man. He is a weakling. Paul Burchill enters the scene and asks what's going on. Katie Lea says that Noble thinks that he's a tough man. Paul says that if Noble is in fact tough, then he'll have no problem taking him on tonight. Noble says that he's on.
* Batista was shown walking out of his locker room when a fan appeared in front of him. The fan quickly left the scene as security was after him. Batista continued to prepare himself for the match, but not without chuckling a bit.
[Commercial Break]
Batista def. Snitsky A quick match here as Batista ran right through Snitsky, despite the size equality. Snitsky had a few moments of offense, but Batista used the fan's energy to get him back in the game. He dropped Snitsky with a Batista Bomb to get the win.
* A promo was shown for the Great American Bash. Following the promo, JBL was shown getting into his limo as his match is next.
[Commercial Break]
John Cena and Cryme Tyme def. John 'Bradshaw' Layfield and World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase A solid first hour main event here. The crowd was really into the team of John Cena and Cryme Tyme. JBL and Priceless garnered a ton of heat and dominated a good portion of the match. Cena and Cryme Tyme got back in the game though and claimed the victory after Cena dropped DiBiase with the F-U.
* After the match, Cryme Tyme stared at JBL's limo and were estimating prices for all of it's parts. JBL took a microphone and warned Cryme Tyme not to touch his limo. Cena turned JBL around and dropped him with an F-U. Cena met Shad and JTG at the limo and told JBL that they're going to take his limo out to celebrate. Cena and Cryme Tyme drove out of the arena. JBL was livid after he was back on his feet.
* A recap of Vickie Guerrero's announcement at the beginning of the show was shown as well as a graphic for tonight's 4-on-1 Handicap main event.
[Commercial Break]
Women's Champion Mickie James def. Layla A decent Diva's match here. Mickie James showed once again here why she is the Women's Champion. Mickie planted Layla with the Mickie-DT at the end of the match to get the victory.
* Following the match, Jillian Hall came out to the stage and said that everybody knows that she deserves to be the Women's Champion. Not only because of her wrestling ability, but also because of her singing ability. James said that if Jillian promises not to sing right now, she can have a title shot next week. Jillian accepts, saying that she already has her victory song prepared and she's going to make sure that the entire world hears her.
* World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase were shown talking about what they can to make an impact since they lost tonight. DiBiase said that he has something in mind.
[Commercial Break]
Paul Burchill def. Jamie Noble A simple squash match here. Noble wasn't even 100% as he was still feeling the effects of the Chokeslam onto the announce table that he received last week. Burchill finished Noble off with a Curb Stomp to get the win. Paul and Katie Lea celebrated following the match and stood tall over Noble.
* Batista was shown walking to his locker room when Todd Grisham caught up with him and asked him what his plans for the future on Raw are. Batista says that he's focused on one thing right now and that is becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. Soon, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase attacked Batista from behind with their title belts. Rhodes and DiBiase stood tall over 'The Animal' and told him to get a good look at the future of the WWE.
* World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk was shown making his way to the ring. The main event is next.
[Commercial Break]
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk def. La Familia via DQ A solid main event here. Vickie was at ringside cheering on her team. Even though there was only one of Punk, he showed great effort in this match and didn't back down from the four members of La Familia. Punk had Curt Hawkins o his shoulders and was ready to put him to sleep, but the rest of La Familia attacked Punk, forcing the referee to ring the bell.
* La Familia continued their assault on Punk following the match. Bam Neely took the World Championship belt and was about to level Punk in the head with. Punk kicked Neely in the mid section and gained possession of the belt. He layed out all four La Familia members and then turned his attention to Vickie. Punk stared a hole through her as she screamed for help. Suddenly, Punk turned around and was met with a Spear from Edge, the former World Heavyweight Champion. Edge took a microphone and told Vickie that if his three demands are met, their wedding will be back on. Vickie told Edge to name what he wants. Edge said that he wants a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship at The Great American Bash with La Familia as the Lumberjacks and her as the special guest referee. Vickie said that Edge has a deal. Edge held the World Heavyweight Championship high above his head while standing over Punk's fallen body. [/center]

RAW: First period was a little short but ok, not sure on SmackDown and ECW Superstars in the main event. Mysterio over Marella is a nice opener. Priceless and JBL vs. CTC is a good tag team match. Nice segment to further the HBK/Jericho feud, I could see a Kofi/HBK vs. Jericade tag match working out soon. Noble trying to impress Katie by taking on Burchill is all good, but I'm expecting a win for Burchill. Batista vs. Snitsky is good, not sure why we haven't heard from CM Punk yet. Good first hour main event here man, CTC driving off with JBL's limo was pretty clever. Mickie over Layla is fine. Random way to earn contendership but it's fine, Jillian vs. James looks good. Burchill over Noble was as expected. The attack from Priceless is fine, it's setting up well for a feud. Weak main event, if I'm honest, the DQ was a gppd decision. Punk vs. Edge at the Great American Bash is nice, the Lumberjack's work out too. Decent show, some iffy decisions but it worked out alright.

WWE RAW: Monday 7th July 2008...Alright, pretty basic layout which is simple and effective. The headings could use a shade of red to identify that this is RAW, however, rather than basic black. Also catches the eye more. The new World Heavyweight Champion starting off RAW is alright, liked how Vickie Guerrero then interrupted him, not sure where Edge is however. I like how the wedding was cancelled with Edge until he was World Heavyweight Champion again however. Not sure why she has General Manager powers on RAW, though. This show is basically turning into SmackDown, which is odd. Not fond of the main event, especially the fact we're expecting CM Punk to overcome four members of La Familia; and it's realistic that Punk will lose. If he wins, all four of La Familia look dumb. Rey Mysterio beating Santino Marella is alright, I remember this storyline pretty well. Entertaining. Chris Jericho and Lance Cade's focus on Kofi Kingston was well executed. Shawn Michaels' appearance was equally good, am looking forward to what will occur come The Great American Bash. Batista needs something better to do than just beating Snitsky and having nothing to do. I do remember John Cena and Cryme Tyme's unit, great win for them against John Bradshaw Layfield and the extremely fitting team of Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase. Fun with Cena and Cryme Tyme in JBL's limo was amusing. Mickie James beating Layla was expected. Jillian Hall challenging Mickie was weird, expecting a successful WWE Womens Championship defense here. Paul Burchill beating Jamie Noble is expected, unsure of its proper purpose. Lastly, expected involvement with Edge but Punk owning La Familia before this was unrealistic, point blank. The stipulations for Punk against Edge at Great American Bash seem Attitude Era-like. Not too good. Overall, a decent start, but I'm confused with so many SmackDown superstars having main event priority on RAW. RAW guys like Batista need something to do meanwhile. The involvement from La Familia makes me hope we see SmackDown posted as well, really. Would be dumb not to.

Friday Night Smackdown! July 11th, 2008 *Shelton Benjamin def. United States Champion Matt Hardy in a Non-Title match * WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz and John Morrison def. Jesse and Festus * Umaga def. MVP, Jeff Hardy, and Mr. Kennedy in a Fatal Four Way match to become the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship * Big Show vs. Vladimir Kozlov ended in a double countout * Natalya and Maryse def. Michelle McCool and Cherry * WWE Champion Triple H def. Edge via DQ Umaga attacked Triple H, causing the disqualification. Edge attempted to hit Triple H with a Conchairto, but World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk hit the ring and took care of Edge. Edge ran from Punk and hopped into a limo, where Vickie and the rest of La Familia was waiting for him. Punk went back to the ring and grabbed a microphone. He invited Edge to Raw next Monday, but without La Familia. [/center]

-Decent promo to knock things off, Punk's punishment in 4 on 1 should be nice. -Rey Mysterio over Santino Marella was expected. -Good promo from Jericho, hope you can advance the Jericho/HBK feud still somehow. -Batista over Snitsky was also expected. Not expecting a squash though. -Great win for John Cena and Cryme Tyme, taking his limo was nice too. -James over Layla was expected as Layla wasn't as established as she is today. -I knew Punk wouldn't win via pinfall, that was the way to go. Edge/Punk should be nice. -Solid RAW; should be interesting to see where things roll from here.
