I'm not saying it should impact the race any more than that Barack Obama supporter who carved a B into her forehead. It shouldn't affect it AT ALL. It has nothing to do with Rand Paul whatsoever. Anyway, this topic is steering in a wrong direction... I don't blame Hulk for not wanting to vote. It's hard to feel the need when the people you're voting for are lying pieces of ****. It didn't hurt Obama at all, obviously, I was just showing how extreme his supporters are. They find a MoveOn member and they attack her. Hulk, you guys did end up managing to elect Kathleen Sebelius as Governor, twice.

Sebelius was also an idiot IMO. The Republicans basically just ran schmucks against her. Under the Sebelius administration the state came very close to not meeting payroll. Great job there. The Republicans ran a guy who was too conservative to be a real moderate and too moderate to be a real conservative. The base hated him.

I didn't say she was a good Governor, I was just saying you guys have elected at least one Democrat.

Yeah, a few Democrats get elected 'cuz the Republican who runs is a complete tool or they run unopposed or they happen to be from a district that's blue and not red. For the most part though, people here vote straight Republican.

I sympathize and feel the same way. However I will be going to vote, simply because I want to vote against Roy Barnes.

I don't know what it's like at your local polling place, but the machines at mine have a little button indicating that you choose not to vote. Seems more gentlemanly than simply not voting, and it gets the point across that you find all potential candidates to be unsatisfactory.

You do have the option of filing a blank ballot if you want. I need to do some research to see if the Libertarian candidates are worth voting for. I know the ones the media covers aren't. But even if the Libertarian candidates deserve my vote, I know they're not going to win.

We need to keep it as a rememberance of the "War of Northern Aggression" don't you know? Barnes was a terrible, terrible governor. And we have had some doozies. I don't like his opponent either, but I'll take my chances with the other guy.

Despite your current Governor's social issue stance, I haven't heard anything really bad about him. So he seems like an ok Governor.

When we all go to the polls on Tuesday, be sure to remember the words of Lewis Black:
"What's the difference between a Democrat and a Republican? A Democrat blows, a Republican sucks."

i think of not voting as my vote, i generally disagree with the state of things to the point where no party resolves.

I wouldn't vote if I saw mentalists like Sharon Angle on the ballot.

better to vote, than not.. I don't think that is always the case, although I used to agree with you. If you genuinely believe that neither candidate will give anything to your community or the country, why must you have to choose?

I can choose the guy who's going to shove a poker up my ass or I can choose the guy who's going to shove a hot poker up my ass. Boy aren't I lucky!

I feel that voting for someone who you don't at least MOSTLY agree with is encouraging a corrupt political system that already lacks severely in options.
The old, "If you don't vote, you can't complain" idea is preposterous in that if you do vote and the person you voted for does a horse crapjob, I believe that you are at least partially to blame.
By being informed and knowingly not voting, you are taking a stance that you support none of the candidates and that you are unwilling to shape your opinions around what someone else thinks is right.

Yeah, I'm just so freaking disallusioned with the system at this point. Then I have to deal with some friends of mine who claim you are "wasting your vote" if you vote for any 3rd party candidates because said candidates have no chance to win. I'm just so sick of both parties at this point. If I lived in NYC, I'd vote for the Rent is Too Damn High guy just because he's probably saner than any of the other candidates and that's just a frakked up thing to say even if it is true.

I likely wont be voting in the gubernatorial race, however in the event that I do, I'll vote 3rd party.

If you genuinely believe that neither candidate will give anything to your community or the country, why must you have to choose? because then you have no right to be bitching and moaning when things go sour.. look, at least take part in the process even if you are voting 3rd party.. at least you're voicing your concerns for something or someone rather than remaining closed off to the whole deal
