This set looks terrible. They could have done so much with it imo and it is a pretty big let down. I will grab Cena and probably Christian but :tsk: at the rest of it.

ok, maybe it wasn't all Jakks' fault.
what i mean is, maybe we let our imaginations run wild, and then expect our wildest dreams. i thought this set was going to be amazing, i mean, it had potential to go crazy with some awesome throwbacks. BUT we should have known since then WrestleMania Heritage set was all throwbacks to mostly recent WrestleManias.
This set, though not that appealing to us die-hards, will definately make some kids happy this holiday season AND give us better odds of getting a Sheamus in a retail setting. again, it might not be anything too groundbreaking, but the set WILL sell - none of these will be shelf warmers that will stick around and clog up shelves for very long.
besides, the way i see it is that it's at least 5 figures i don't want to get (net savings to me: $50 + tax - $60 if i decide to hold out for Elite Sheamus).

That Christian is awesome.
Sheamus is great too because a 2nd Sheamus will drop the prices down. But I think I will buy the Elite Sheamus next year.

I'll get Christian, maybe Sheamus depending on what hits first in stores. The others are solid repaints just not figures I need more of at this time

Wow this is actually a decent set I think. I might have to pick up Christian and Cena and possibly Mysterio and Orton.

Thanks for the feedback on the figures. Going forward we will be able to provide new sculpts for specific superstars in PPV heritage waves, inlcuding new heads. I am working on new, event specific heads for an upcoming PPV wave this week in fact.... Here are the years for each figure and why they were chosen 2005 - Christian - last Royal Rumble Appearance for 5 years, signifciant deco variant from exisitng Christian figures 2006 - Rey Mysterio - won the Royal Rumble, significant outfit 2007 - Undertaker - won the Royal Rumble, significant outfit 2008 - John Cena - won the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant, nice change of pace from orange outfits 2009 - Randy Orton - won the Royal Rumble, significant outfit. 2010 - Sheamus - 1st Royal Rumble appearance, inlcuded to meet expected strong demand at retail for Sheamus figures. I hope this helps clarify why each figure was chosen. Thanks Bill

How classy that Mattel would actually take the time to explain things to us. How a REAL company handles their business.
Thank you very much for the info, we appreciate it.

I like the Christian and Rey Mysterio, because they actually depict those guys from a few years ago. I assume Taker is based off when he won in '07, but he hasn't changed much since then. The same goes for the '08 Cena and the '09 Orton. So they are to be expected.
But, why the hell is Sheamus even in this set? He's been in one Royal Rumble PPV.
I don't see why they couldn't have gone a little further back and done a Michaels, Austin, Rock, or HHH.

One person from each year 2005-2010. 4 winners from 2006-2009. Christian had a colorful and memorable attire and it was his last rumble for a few years. Sheamus is a want for collectors. Its his first figure, so it will sell!!!!

I don't know. Winning a Rumble in an outfit that looks like the other 10 you wrestle in doesn't make it interesting enough to drop $10 to $12 on it. Especially when there are so many other figures of Cena, Mysterio and Undertaker around now. Maybe if there wasn't a new wave of figures each month there wouldn't be a back up in stores preventing newer Basic waves from being put out, and would make some figures like that Cena more interesting.
