Any chance of a pic with the Elite coat on? Hoping it looks more cloth like.

I don't think the plastic glove gauntlets will clear the plastic coat sleeves. That doesn't mean anything. They can still have them in the stockroom. There's been plenty of times I've scanned something that showed more in the stockroom and had an employee bring it out. That could be true but Target has that policy against bringing stuff out from the back for people. Just like I talked about on here a month or two ago where they had Jake The Snake in the back (which they finally put out last week) and refused to get it for me so I could buy it. I've never had that problem at my local stores. I have heard that a couple times when I've gone to stores I normally don't go to (once in Orlando FL and once down in South NJ), but for the most part the employees are very helpful when I ask.

thanks for the pics. personally i think that taker headscan is awful, most of his jakks scans are way better. but then i've always thought Mattel's legends headscans generally aren't that great.
i agree that the cloth shirt and boot straps look bad. the shirt should definetely have been moulded.
also aren't his gloves supposed to be grey on this attire? and surely the coat shouldn't be leather looking either? i thought his coat was more of a matte cloth material...

You're right about the coat though. It shouldn't be leather. The boots are really nice in person. Much better effort than anything Jakks did as far as the boots go.

I think the face looks great for his deadman stare. Also the boot covers are very nice. And no the gloves are correct he wore black gloves at the 1990 SS. Here's a video I found this morning when addressing this issue in another thread. You can see that at the SS he was wearing the black gloves- www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoId=49836916

I 100% agree. First, the head sculpt is perfect for his deadman stare. The shading and pale complexion is spot on. Second, I love the molded boot straps. I really dislike cloth boot straps which are baggy and out of place. Third, the shirt probably should have been molded, however, it is a valiant effort by Mattel and still works, especially tucked in (PJ). Overall, the EG Undertaker is spot on. Also, the music is not the original but from the attitude era, correct?

Were they? I always thought they were plastic. Do you have pics of the proto with cloth boot covers?

PJ....
Thanks for the photos and the side by side shots you do...I really like the EG boots/covers.....but aside from that, I gotta go with Jakks version on this one. This is only one of a few times I felt that way.....so far, Mattel has one-uped Jakks on most everything they have done.....I think its the shirt, too puffy and I agree with you it should have been molded....the scan is 'meh', not blow you away, but not bad either.
I was really looking forward to your photos of The Rock EG without the warm-ups on.....why are you waiting til Christmas to open it?

Because I've been buying plenty of stuff as of late and normally once Nov comes I start putting it away for Christmas. And with these the Rock was sort of an impulse buy, because I was only planning on getting Taker because I have the Legends 3 & belt pack Rock figures already. So I just took Taker for now because he was the one I wanted most...plus I have another Taker coming which will also be for Christmas. I ordered one from RSC 2 weeks ago.

PJ, you need to come to the realization that you are going to purchase almost every figure you see. haha I have the IC combo pack Rock and I have seen pics of Legends 3 Rock. In my opinion, the EG Rock head sculpt/scan is the best out of the three. I cannot wait to get Legends 3 from RSC's. I hope they get a shipment next week. Here are some MOC pics. I hope you do not mind PJ. The background of the packaging is creating an orange/red hue so the colors may be off.

A different sculpt/scan from earlier in The Rocks career. The EG has different hair, is more polished and has a better paint job. Please see link below for additional pics. wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=wftmattel&thread=193694&page=1

interesting to know, thanks. the IC headscan looks the same as the Legends 3 one though. so rock has 2 mattel scans already. good to see mattel making regular new headscans, its nice to have that variety, unlike jakks who we usually had to wait years to see a new scan on a lot of people.
