Republican insiders are currently wooing former Florida Governor Jeb Bush to run for President in 2012 and it is being reported that he is actively listening to these insiders.
He has a leg up on the Hispanic vote. He speaks fluent Spanish, his wife is Hispanic and so obviously his kids would be part Hispanic as well.
In the 2008 Presidental election, only 31% of Hispanics voted for John McCain. However, in the 2004 election 45% of Hispanics voted for George Bush. I'd like to think if one family member could do it, then one with a much higher favorability rating would do just as well if not better.
Couple the Hispanic vote with the White vote and there we have President Bush.

I wouldn't count him out. He has Florida in his back pocket and that is one of the key places needed to win the election. He won roughly 80% of the Cuban vote in 2002. That helped him in the race for Governor. And you know that HW was planning on having Jeb becoming President. W and Jeb both ran for Governor the same year, they thought W would lose and Jeb would win. Then Jeb would go on to being President. However, W won and Jeb lost, so they went with W for the Presidency. I have no doubts that they still want Jeb to be President. |

I hate to advocate for him, but he has the pro-life bona fides because of Terri Schiavo and he is Catholic. Catholics are typically Democratic voters and he could peal away at them.
I really don't think the Bush name would hurt him.
And since 1980, there have only been two elections where a Bush was not on the ticket.

Bush's numbers are no longer in the 20's, in fact they are double that. He has some how been able to rehabilitate his numbers. With the new book and all the TV and radio shows he'll be doing, I'm sure he'll get a bump and will be past Obama's numbers. If W Bush's numbers are better than Obama's, then I don't see why Jeb would not fair well in the election. Anyone who has completed a term as Governor could make the case against Obama and show their unemployment numbers, their budgets, etc. 2012 will be Governor's year. A Governor will be nominated by the Republicans and if our economy is anything like it is today, that Governor will be our next President. |

I think people forget that Jeb is actually a better politician than W. Jeb is the one with his dad's political instincts and he's a better speaker than W as well. If Jeb runs for the nomination, I could see him making a strong run at it. If we see a Clinton/Bush campaign again I'll kill myself though.

c'mon, we all know Palin's gonna run on the Republican ticket in 2012. (and she's gonna wii-iiin).
okay, maybe she'll run 3rd party for the T.E.A. Party, either way, she's a shoe-in. c'mon, she's got a show coming up on TLC (the LEARNING channel?) and it looks like a flippin' good time, and she'll will look awesome on the cover of major publications (which didn't hurt Obama). liberal media hates her, but that just makes me love her more.

He has a decent chance for it. I always liked Jeb more than GW. The Bush name is not as tarnished as it was, and not nearly as much as some people seem to think.
